the silent voice of the demon had lost something

Devil

This interrogation would get nowhere without proper threat.

[X] Get the Seeker here still in armor but with wings displayed to show the Drogai.
-[X] Get the skull of the Cornugon as well.
-[X] "My other champion is in need of a few ugrades. Speak, or I will carve enough parts from you to leave you a Lemures, never to ascend."

To anyone with points in Knowledge (Planes/Religion?) yes, but we're kinda still competing with the devils in their favorite occupation.
It has been described as pretty horrific.

What do you expect Fenly's/Stannis reaction to be after witnessing that?

Considering what happens in a dungeon when someone wants you to talk?

Pretty damn tame we're just carving him for parts instead of drawing it out over a couple of days.

Besides we can always just bullshit and say that this is the way we usually kill devils, and hell that's not even a lie.

@Artemis1992 I like your approach, but it is very expensive in 6th level spell slots. We can always fall back on that approach, but fear seems like a good starting tactic.

In LHD form, Viserys' Intimidate bonus will be +20. Add AoN and VotD to increase it to +40, then Divine Insight to push it to +55, and top it off with Grand Destiny to reach +59. DP says it should be immune to brain melting, and that could be true, but I bet we can still scare some answers from it with that kind of bonus.

[X] Plan "Let's make a Devil shit itself in pure, unadulterated terror!"
-[X] Viserys casts Air of Nobility and Voice of the Dragon, if they are not already active, then uses Greater Shadow Enchantment to duplicate a Grand Destiny spell. He then briefly interrupts Dany and Lya to ask for assistance for a few minutes.
--[X] Viserys ask Dany to Imbue him with a Divine Insight spell. He asks Lya to cast Pronouncement of Fate on the Dogai, as the assassin perpetrated an attack that could have absolutely destroyed our reputation among all Westerosi, and could have even attempted to murder us. Then have her use Detect Thoughts on the Dogai while she hides nearby under Invisibility.
-[X] When ready to persuade the Dogai, Viserys assumes LHD form, uses Divine Insight to boost his Intimidate check by +15, and Grand Destiny to boost it by +4. Threaten the Dogai with True Death after a torturous round of organ harvesting if it does not tell us everything it knows of that could be relevant to us or the Renplacement. If bound by an Infernal contract, it had better figure out how to bend the strictures of the deal without breaking them, for its continued existence is on the line.
--[X] Use the Seeker as an example of the fate of Devils who have crossed our path. "Notice the wings, taken from an Erinyes? Can you sense the remnants of the Pleasure Devil, as well? From that Infernal gift, it gained the ability to translocate itself, if only short distances. Perhaps what we take from you will give it the ability to become Invisible? Would you like to see the fashion accessory my little sister carries around? We crafted it from a horn taken from the Cornugon that thought itself our betters."

We need a few props or this won't be a proper torture. I also don't want to bother our other party members especially Lya who we have pledged to watch over the inn.

@Goldfish, how about we get the props as per my suggestion, leave Lya out except for buffing Viserys, and I'll switch my vote to yours.

I guess we'll have to do the @DragonParadox signal, if medieval torture here works as fictionalized.

I strongly suspect that Fenly will be horrified and instantly disintegrate all the trust we've built up till now.

Torture exists yes, but it is not something nobles witness first hand, barring 'eccentrics' like the Boltons. As someone who presumably has the memories of a 16 year old young man fostered in the Highgarden Other Renly would probably be horrified by anything approaching effective torture for a devil.

I guess he wouldn't be able to understand how bad my mindrape-approach is, so he'd be a lot less horrified?

As I said, the only devil we need to hire is a pain devil to handle demotions of those who cross us.

I mean, once the Dogai stops being a Dogai, he will talk

Bah, greenhorn.

Oh well, he'll learn, or he'll wind up dead.

Considering the downward spiral this world seems to be dead set on going down its going to be one of the two sooner or later.

@Goldfish

I don't think changing our size will help with Intimidation here.
He already is in our power, further physical intimidation is useless and might clash with the morehelpful intimidation directed at butchering him for spare parts and denying him return to Hell.

I added LHD form in for the Charisma boost. Every little bit helps, and it makes a certain impression on the Renplacement.

Why leave Lya out? Even if Pronouncement of Fate doesn't inflict the full effect, it will still lower the Dogai's ability to resist our Intimidation attempt. And it might not be able to share information, as indicated by whatever contract it signed, but it's private thoughts might not be so unassailable.

I've added this to the plan, though I'm not sure if I'll keep it;

We have no idea if that's the case.

Much more annyoing, though a few pages ago, @tarrangar :
I think we have a fundamental misunderstanding what "humiliating the Seven" means.
Killing the corrupt or evil members of their faith as you seem to plan is not harming them, that's helping them.

Would be much better for our goal to get the corrupt or false worshippers to lynch those truly chosen by the Seven, than the other way around.

But even aside from that issue, it's propably going to include a lot of dead or defecting Septons, burning Septs and not stopping until the Seven publically admit their failures and other gods (and our) superiority, to all of their own worshippers.

This is not going to be done with a few silent killings and then the Seven sending a Cleric to Bloodraven to start negotiating peace with something resembling dignity.
DP pretty much told us what we have to do, we have to end the noble lines who committed the most crimes against the old gods followers, and we have to put on one big show that really show old god superiority, the 7 has raised a champion specifically against us, capturing that champion and his worst followers, and using them to grow a Weirwood on one of the 7s most holy grounds, should be enough to fulfill our minimum obligations.

It's been a long time, but DP has pretty well defined what we have to do, and it's not on the scale you describe, we just have to do enough, that the faction of the old gods that's still screaming for vengeance calm down a little.

Our mission is 2 things, we have to end some lines such as the Arryn's, and we have to put on one big show of punishing the 7, the less angry parts of the old gods, knows that we will have to work with the 7 in the long term, so their moderating influence, means our mission isn't to the extent of ruining our relationship with the 7 beyond repair.

Our mission is to give the angry part of the old gods enough vengeance, that the less angry parts can begin to calm them down.

The main thing we have to do, is ending those houses that slaughtered the most first men, and burned the most Weirwoods, then in addition to that, we have to put on a show that spits in the eyes of the 7, we can do this by sending all males from those families that don't die to the wall, and marrying all females off without letting their husband take their name, and growing a Weirwood in a famous sept wetted by the blood of 7 followers(who are allowed to be corrupt or irreconcilable enemies), at most we might have to grow Weirwoods in 2-3 famous septs instead of one, the old gods actively don't want us to destroy the 7, they know what kind of chaos that would cause, for everyone in Westeros including their followers, they just want them punished enough to mollify the still angry parts of the old gods.

Fine, I'm doing the lobby for the Excruciatus myself.

@Duesal , do you know that Devils have more efficient ways of looting other devils than us? See, when a Devil goes up or down in CR and hierarchy, they undergo a ritual which consumes or frees energy. Thing is, devil lords pften have to demote their servants when they need to havest that energy. That's the economy of Baator when there are few souls of the damned around. So, in theory, we could be harvesting this energy by demoting devils, we just need the help of a Pain Devil, the ones in charge of demotions in Hell.

As a plus size, it also makes them easier to interrogate and removes future grudges, because they would end up as simple Lemures

Hmm, actually I might remove Lya from the plan after all. According to the most recently revised turn schedule from last week, Lya should be creating her first Arcanum today. @DragonParadox Is this the schedule we're using, or are you still referring to the previous one, which has Mercy scheduled for a few days from now?

Lya is currently studying with Dany in the Stormlands.

Well, shit...

I guess today she can learn Abundant Ammunition, the last spell she was slated to learn from Dany this month, and create Mercy tomorrow?

Plan updated.

He then briefly Teleports to Storm's End (using a 5th level spell slot one way and two 4th level slots on the return trip). Ask Dany to Imbue him with a Divine Insight spell.
