Maybe I only understand Imperial units because I grew up using them, but the same could be said of the metric system. Point for fact, you don't understand Imperial because you never bothered to learn it, thinking your system inherently superior/more sensible.

And maybe objectively metric is more sensible, but human nature doesn't work that way.
 
Well damn. Really hoping we get a way to Diplomance Brienne and not kill her. But I'm also thinking it's time we start getting temples/clergy for the Weeping Lady and Moonsinger goddesses set up. They're a potential alternative to the Seven (one of them is really big on freedom right?). Also as great as Yss, murder blood trees and sea death god are in general, some more approachable gods would be nice

Good luck with trying to bring in the worship of a CG God to a thread that hates the very idea of CG :V

Like, I personally like the idea of bringing in more good Gods, but I know a losing battle when I see one.

I'd not say we dislike CG. We dislike kindness towards fiends, which is part of Dany's specific CG morality. Other CG beings can probably be taught about how fiends are so bad doing bad things to them is good so long as you don't let yourself be carried away.

We also dislike other chaotic behaviors, but mostly ones CG shouldn't do in our lands anyways so long as nothing is going seriously wrong.

I mean once we told Stannis about it in the first place we were always going to get blamed for it. Viserys reputation exudes Murphionic Field around itself, conceptually.
 
I quite frankly no longer care what people blame us for. If the world at large wants us to be a murderous nutcase? Fine. Be my guest. See what happens.

To be honest I'm kinda eager myself.

I'm just waiting for the chance to really cut loose and show these fools what real power is.

Not cantrips, not stolen spells lifted from our ancestors' tombs, not deals with devils demons and fae, but power born by the self.

Power gained from a thousand choices, a thousand battles, a thousand decisions that tested our moral fiber and sheer stubborn refusal to submit to the whims of fate and circumstance.

Power ripped and torn and grown from pain and blood and sacrifice.

Power born of Dragons.

I want them to remember, remember what dragons are, remember the old terror lurking in the back of their minds of the giant lizards, of the true predators, of the beasts that ruled this world long before they came to be.

And when they do, when they see what we are, what our legacy is, when they see our majesty unbound?

They will kneel in fear and ask for salvation.

And I will laugh as we deny them.

Total agreement. We've been pretty careful trying to manage our reputation, barring certain unavoidable issues, and it has gained us nothing but fear, loathing, and disrespect. Only a small handful of people and places we have interacted with directly act otherwise.

I will no longer support any further attempts to protect our reputation. My concerns will be for the opinions of party members and the few influential people we care about or are interested in continued interaction (many Braavosi, such as the Fairwinds, Uthero, the Iron Bank, etc).

Naw, that seems like a dick move. But we can let them sweat for five seconds before laughing lightly and then saying yes. That should be about ok.
 
I dont think we need to corrupt her, we simply need to raise her standard beyond those of the Seven.
She needs to see on her own that the Seven are unjust, cruel and unworthy of worship.
They only protect the weak when It suits their interests.

Nah, we want to be the glorious savior, we're just tired of waiting for them to see us that way. The "kicking and screaming" portion of "drag Planetos' collective ass kicking and screaming out of the fire" just isn't something that means much to us at this point.
 
As for how people see Visery from rumors. We just keep doing what we're doing to prove them wrong.

Well the people willing to change there minds anyway.

Plus most people don't really understand magic and there are the people just trying to make us look bad to consider.
 
We really need to get around to creating an Amanuensis printing press.

We could print thousands of cheap broadsheets with "news of the world" stories, including bare bones reports of our latest escapades. Maybe even a short "Adventures of Viserys Targaryen, the Exiled Prince" serial.

With Teleport and the false ravens, it would be easy to distribute them across the continents of Westeros and Essos.

Let our enemies slander us. We'll invent journalism... :evil:
