Magical Girl Escalation Taylor (Worm/Nanoha)

Vote 7.1

As a reminder, one point for going to the Endbringer fight, two for actually fighting Behemoth. The radio is not in the warehouse, but this is your one chance to sucker Saint and company into a trap. No, you cannot leave people at the warehouse while you go to the Endbringer fight; it's one activity or the other.

Get cracking!

For Taylor:

[ ] Go to the Endbringer fight – Behemoth likes fire and radiation? Too bad for him, those are your toys. The lightning bolts might be more of a problem, but that's what shields and a Barrier Jacket are for, right?
[ ] Stay at the warehouse – You could say you trust the Dragonslayers not to go after the radio while you're in Ukraine, but that would be a massive lie. You'd bet money they're headed this way. Time to catch a rat.
[ ] Check on the Privateers – Just because the capes are gone doesn't mean there won't be any trouble today. The Beasts or a new gang or something. They might have power armor, but you bring more boom.

For Samantha:
[ ] Come with you
[ ] Go with Danny

Tim to test Danny's death flag breaking skills I guess.

Is it possible to setup an ambush from the dimensional barrier? One of us could stay there and prep an attack while the other is in the real world, when the fight gets going have the other drop into the real world and ambush them?

Or, better idea. When they arrive, immediately pull the mage into the dimensional barrier, which is guaranteed to work as they are an actual mage that the barrier was designed to trap, once they are trapped Taylor and Sam can beat the crap out of them and when they are down teleport them somewhere for safe holding and then return to the real world to fight Saint, if he's still there?

For those who haven't seen it: As I understand it if we show up post-fight we'd still get a vote, if only for S&R operations which suit indcredibly well our resistances.

Unless I misinterpreted, @Silently Watches.

Really don't need that extra bit. There's prolly going to be a vote later for this if we're fine after fighting the Dragonslayers.

Let's hope that we will do a better showing now that we don't have busted ribs to slow us down and also have the knowledge that the Dragonslayers have magic. And we don't have to worry about non combatants on board a fairly fragile ship. Also Samantha should be better prepared for anti brute tactics. We can at least take out their mage fairly easy if they appear. If they start to withdraw we just drop a recursion field before they leave our 4 mile range and focus on the single mage they have together with Samantha.

And if we get a spell I really hope we will get either Frost Beam or Misteltein out of this before the next arc starts. We are seriously missing some good AOE crowd control. Our time slow field won't be as effective as stopping the zerg rush cold. If we fight in the tunnels Frost Beam would be better and if what I'm afraid happens and we will be fighting an army in the open then Misteltein will be better.

Despite our relative lack of usefulness for fighting Benny, I am tempted by Silently's words that using Ragnarok would have "interesting" results (tempered by the fact that we'd likely kill or severely injure our fellow EB responders...hm). Regarding Samantha, the choice is not easy either. Even though Danny could use the protection, if the Dragonslayers do fall for the bait I don't like the initial 3v1 odds. Starting off with a snap Recursion Field to make it a 1v1 though...hm. Perhaps worth the risk.

Oooooooh. This. I like this.

Can we make strategies right now? Because something like having Sam pull the Dragonslayers mage into recursion field while we wait outside the RF and engage the remaining ones in long range artillery sounds great.

Bonus points if we go full Nanoha and use psychological warfare to demoralize the Dragonslayers during the fight. We could have gone to help fight Behemoth but we knew he'd try to mess with us. How many people are going to die because of his actions? How many people have to die while he pursues his white whale?

The 2 spells learned from attending, and sending at least 1 spell Behemoth's way, would be a major godsend. I think many of you are being a bit paranoid about Behemoth no-selling our powers though. If he was as bad as you seem to think then noone would ever be able to hurt him at all.

I agree Ragnarok might not be the best idea atm, but we can still hurt him, we'll just have to be careful not to stay in one place long enough for him to easily target, and keep Strong Shield up at all times (Strong Shield is NOT immobile and Knight Armor gave it a substantial upgrade). We should also keep a Spatial Translocation primed to use for emergency escape if our Barrier Jacket takes too much damage.

You do realize most Endbringer fights only last like 15 min to an hour, right? There's A LOT of frantic fast-paced stuff going on during them so it seems like they last a long time, but they're over relatively quickly on average.

The EB fight itself could end, and S&R/cleanup already have begun before Saint shows up at the warehouse to start our fight. At that point our radiation immunity wouldn't help save many people, considering anyone it would be needed to save would have lethal exposure by that point.

I recall some problems with Panacea in this quest, but not the specifics; would she be around to help heal the radiation exposure ? And could she do so without getting exposed herself (given that a person with radiation sickness is actually radioactive themselves, and can expose others)?

Also, I don't recall SW saying Saint will show up, just that a trap had been sent that he might fall for.

Question, is there an actual chance Taylor might die, and then we switch perspectives to someone else? We have a plethora of continuation characters on the mage side alone: Samantha, Dragon, Saint, Taylor's tinker.

Like how in canon Taylor was to have died, and the story follow a different parahuman, but she survived so it didn't.

In any case I think Taylor should go to the fight...

IIRC, Silently has said that Death isn't the true end for Taylor, but that we also wouldn't like the consequences.
