Do we have any idea what it might be?
@Tomcost, @Artemis1992?
No idea. Obscuring Mist or Fog Cloud are pretty common as a low-level spell. Any Brine Dragon or Mist Dragon could do it at will of course, but so could a human smuggler with some magic skills or an item he found. Bet Psionics has some equivalent too.

Mist is not really telling by itself.

Combat Arcane load-out(Caster level 8):

Level 0: Detect Magic, Light, No light, Prestidigitation
Level 1: Mage Armor, Enlarge Person, Power Word Pain, Magic Missile x2, Free Slot (UF)
Level 2: Glitterdust x2, Mirror Image, Eagle's Splendor , Free Slot (UF)
Level 3: Fireball, Dispel Magic, Great Thunderclap, Free Slot (UF)
Level 4: Enervation, Free Slot (UF) x2

Just as a note, the free level 4 slots can also be used for Great Thunderclap, so she can spam up to 4 of those now. And she can leave one more free slot now due to increase in INT. up to 6 total.

Combat Divine Load-out(Caster level 6):

Level 0: Light x2, No light x2
Level 1: Bless x2, Detect Evil, Command, Sunstroke, Calm animals
Level 2: Barkskin x3, Silence, Lesser Restoration, Free Slot (UF)
Level 3: Heart of Water x2, Call Lightning x2

Doubling Heart of Water in case she needs to use the Freedom of Movement function and then renew it for breathing.
Eit: Left out Cure spells because of spontaneus option now.

Is that an agreeable loadout, @everyone?

Looks good to me for general combat purposes, but not for going underwater to fight Mindflayers.

Another Great Thunderclap, using a 4th level spell slot, would probably be better than the Enervation spell. Eagle's Splendor would probably be better off replaced by Animalistic Power to buff Richard or another Mirror Image spell. Silence won't do any good underwater against psionic Mindflayers, and Call Lightning just doesn't work underwater. Maybe replace them with another Lesser Restoration and Barkskin?

Normally i wouldnt poke something with so little support on our backs, but as people mentioned something actively hiding probably doesnt want trouble.
Unless the mist is meant to help It ambush prey, but im still leaning towards "magic-aided smuggling"

I'm just not that worried since we've only got Dany and Viserys with us rather than the entire party. The CR can't be so high that we have to run away from this.

And even if we have to run away, we can just teleport as a last measure.

I agree with the teleport, but i still dislike the "the CR must be tailored to our party", DP has mentioned that CR does not apply when doing something foolish.
I think we need to get that out of our collective heads.

He also mentioned that it was against obvious clues like we had when the Ulitharid was coming for our hide. This, on the other hand, is just an investigation. There are still plenty of options to run away. We haven't exactly gotten any "warnings" other than the fact that the mist exists in the first place.

Dang it people. I realize its my fault for sleeping in and not pointing it out, but y'all should realize that the updated pointed out Dany has trouble flying at night. It also said we're just gonna make land before said night starts. Now what happens when she's trying to fly and keep up when she can't see us? Yeah she gets seperated from us and lands elsewhere, or worse can't make it to the shore line and ends up in the water. Just ugh! Ugh people. :jackiechan::facepalm:

i dont think its going to get that bad, and after this is done, we can just grab her and teleport to the shoreline.

@Tomcost, @Artemis1992?

@DragonParadox, how many spells did Viserys and Dany spend, what wyrmlinfs are they currently and on what load out is Dany?

Edit: First result for searching mist is obviously a dragon...
Mist Dragon, Adult – d20PFSRD
At least it's TN and not aggressive.

I'm late but look at this:
Sea Scourge – d20PFSRD

We are an estimated party level of 7.2, so the ooze is well inside our prameters.

EDIT: if it is the ooze, we might as well leave. It is not useful for anything.

Frankly, if whatever it is is hostile, I'd rather make a note of it and immediately retreat (and fly on). If possible, of course.

If it's diplomanceable, by contrast....
