Zherys obviously picked a slave and had the Fire Dwarf possess the body? Nothing really unexpected here. The eyes are normal for Fire Dwarves, and those things are usually loyal enough if you treat them properly. I'm a bit annoyed that we didn't get the Fire Dwarf, but in the end getting Teana was still the better end of that deal.

That's a nice chunk of gold we just got. Now we can easily outfit the entire party with all of the gear from TNE's and my own wishlists, with plenty left over for other projects. Yay gold! :D

If he kept his promise, he picked a criminal, if he didnt we are eventually going to a word with him.

Better wait until we see the price tag on the new temples.

At the very least we have enough money for the compass. Squid-quest will be so much easier if we don't have to blindly stumble across the seafloor.

... why not? He have LHD form that allows him to get to melee. Hell, his HP is actually fairly nice for a d8 class while in that form.

He's big and scary and beefy in LHD form, but he's not got the necessary skills or feats to take advantage of the form. There are ways to get around these limitations, of course, including Spectral Hand.

Unfortunately, Viserys only gets so many 3rd level spells, and we need the versatility over a single awesome Touch spell that could get him gutted.

I'd much rather wait for Molten Skies. What we can do instead is buy goods in Prime Material that the Xorn tells us are highly sought after in Molten Skies, and then we can use that in place of gold and thus save half the money we would have spent to craft the compass.

In the meantime let's just try to recruit some Mermen as scouts. I'm sure we'll be able to find a wandering tribe if we sail with enough magical shit.

Scouts we have to pay for, that can be fooled much easier then divination, might lead us into traps and will suffer horrific losses.

We will still have to pay a lot to get the materials here in Volantis instead of MS.
Consider it the opportunity cost for having a very useful item for a quest that will heavily involve tracking.

It would also be rather useful for the Sellsword war if we get assassination tasks or have to do stuff on land.

... okay, when you put it like that the double prices seem much more worth it.

Hopefully we will be given enough time to get our magic academy set up and get a bunch of mages trained, because once we pull that off the sheer numbers advantage in terms of magic users we will have over these threats will be enormous.

We still need to gain them to PC levels. Low-level mages are a bit useless on a large scale unless they're healers.

Training will take months, if not years. :(

Also consider that we nearly had enough money to craft the entire wishlist before nearly doubling our funds through the auction.
We will need a sizeable pile of money for our projects, but we are also bound to make a good haul from the squids and the war.

I'm all for being frugal with our resources, but I also want to have the best tools money can buy when we go forth and wage war against invaders from beyond or the militarys of three nations.

I can see it now...Pirates of the Narrow Sea, Dead Squid Tell no Tales.
