That's kinda fair, but outside of narrative conventions, I don't think there's remotely that hard a guarantee of Ling Qi making Indigo.
In universe it seems like things would lean more toward "She's probably not gonna fuck up making Cyan and will provide a solid foundation for her clan" than "That's a viscount in the making."

I expect that odds are a bit weighted towads LQ being viscount in the future thanks to CRX support, both her taking us personal retainer meaning LQ is talented and resources she is providing to us which is closer to older baronial houses yearly budged than personal cultivation source. So good odds I would say if I was in their shoes.
I think it is a matter of playing the odds IMO, If she builds a solid baronial house it is still decent consolitation prize -especially since she is accomplished diplomat and veteran of couple of battles with barbarians making her attractive as a person as well why she is practically a hero- but if she makes Viscount then them being on the ground floor in the support of that is going to do good things to their place in the court of Emerald Sea.
