Looks like we need to introduce this douchecanoe to the Find Out stage of life.

He's not the smartest guy and very desperate, so he basically tried to pro-gamer move himself out of this. Somehow. It's a work in progress. Surely, by the time he defeated a Kingsguard in single combat, he has figured something out.

You know, the funny part is that Arnold probably won't be able to believe his luck when it's us. I mean, he'll be insulted and if he kills us in the duel he's fucked. But it should be easy for him to force a spoiled girl to yield. Clearly she only thinks she has a chance because men have let her win all her life.

Now, the only thing he can't figure out is why he's hearing boss music.

Yeah, inserting a dude we got to know on our progress feels less problematic politically than blatantly inserting a Jeyne loyalist on her say so.

I was so hoping he'd go for trial by combat and he did! Time to stab homophobia and misogyny in the face :V

Don't care too much about the other vote, but the duel is very much a 'I need to vote on it' thing.

In a feudal system were might makes right it's seems pertinent to remind the vassals of our own might.

Honestly, I'm almost willing to eat the stress and get Tarly to do it. We know Tarly is a bad-ass because he trained us and he's wearing the white. Would also potentially be a bit more politically viable for a few different reasons.

But the completely in-character move is to just hand him his ass ourselves.

Although it probably won't win us a lot of friends, if I'm being honest - as noted, men don't like getting their asses kicked by women. But man it'll feel good.

Maybe he thinks he has an outside chance at beating Sir Tarly. We're better than Tarly, though. Have been for a while.

I think it's more about the intended symbolism. Rhaenyra fighting him is entirely outside his world view. He's expecting to get to spit on Rhaenyra and his cousin's sovereignty, and win or lose, win an ideological battle by forcing Rhaenyra to have a man step in, trusting like minded lords to make his point when he's dead.

There is no way out now regardless of who he faces, so he figures he'll earn himself a song of being foolishly brave and defiant in the face of what he perceives as powerful men pretending to strength of woman leaders in order to not anger the men behind them. You know, nonsense several degrees separated from any sense of reality or reason.

Honestly I think fighting him ourselves is even better politically.

For starters, when he loses he won't just be dead, he'll be totally discredited. Nobody who is inclined towards Arnold's way of thinking is going to champion a guy who lost to a girl as a martyr.

Additionally, the whole idea of a Trial by Combat is that the Seven judge the worthy. If the Seven agreed with Arnold, he would win. I'm sure there will be an excuse - Arnold was handicapped by not being able to risk killing us, etc. But it'll ring a lot hollower.

Fuck this fucker Arnold! Fuck his arse with a blade! Let's take that blade and shove it up his arse ourselves!

I believe this is the best way to defeat him in full, and its too in character to not too.

Teen Spirit, considering the votes, when will you end the vote for this threadmark?

[X] [Write-in] Duel and kill him with your barehands. A traitorous cur like Arnold doesn't deserve a proper duel, but to be brutally stomped into the ground like the worm that he is.

I think a hotly contested vote like this should stay open for a few days.

He actually said it. Man his argument is literally man better. Completely ignoring succession. The worst part is people in the room actually agreeing with him. And you know insulting the Crowns authority.
