Gods damnit, Arnold, I was joking.

Well, I suppose it's time to lay down the law.

Won't do Rhaenyra's rep many favors but... Sometimes the bitter steel is required.

forgot to vote on steffon. I just do not think we have the actions necessary to like get to know steffon rn

[X] Accept, promise to send you father a letter and have them send Steffon to King's Landing Immediately

If we establish him as someone who simply attached themselves to the progress and proved competent rather than someone we recommended entirely on the recommendation of another, that gives Jeyne less ammunition for suspicion or protest. This meeting is private after all.

Let him die by a woman's sword, his head and wagging tongue separated from his body and the badge of privilege he hangs between his legs.

Arnold Arryn even in canon seems like a really stupid dude. Completely fumbling two rebellions, and like he was a first cousin, I think even most of Westeros would be like "Nah, Jeyne comes first she was her lord father's only surviving child."
Joffery, in all of canon, was only this stupid once, when he took neds head, and someone had clearly put him up to it. To surpass Joffery in terms of failed genetics and nurture is a feat I thought never to see in westeros, but Arnold Arryn manages and then does a victory lap for good measure.

Edit: though, that there are idiots nodding along while the king has no male heir yet born in front of his eldest child is worrying indicative that idiots are, somehow, even more common in this century than another. I guess if Roberts rebellion accomplished one good thing it was kill off some of the morons in the realm.

I don't think he is any more than an average knight, might even be below average due to spending most of the past year or so in a cell, so doesn't feel like much direct risk here.

I hope we do fight in our dress, it'd be more humiliating for him.
OTOH, our dresses are expensive and I would rather not ruin any of them...

@Teen Spirit If we ask for a blade are we going to fight him like we are, or we will have our armour delivered to us.
Getting heirs wise… idk if artificial insemination is possible at this point historically? But even if not, I expect that all of that will heavily outweigh the ick factor. But also, we can just ask. If Alicent doesn't feel that way, or has some other consideration.
It may be technically possible, BUT without proper knowledge of gynecology or obstetrics, a complete lack of antibiotics, and without proper disinfection techniques...

Well let's just say that even in the best case scenario it would be extremely uncomfortable for Rhaenyra, and we have a quite high risk of infection (which could end up in sepsis)...

So it's better to stick to the traditional way...

@Teen Spirit can we toss his headless body through the moon gate, pickle his head, and take it with us on the rest of our progress?

No real direct risk no, certainly not for a warrior who beat one of the realms absolute finest warriors mere months past, with only a little supernatural stamina potion to aid her. The unavoidable detriment is hurt feelings of all the chauvinistic morons nodding along to his words and elsewhere in westeros when there notions of supposed inherent superiority by birth and ability as a warrior are spilled across the floor like refuse, and mopped up just as easily and irrelevantly.

Has to happen at some point though. Might as well be now. I'm personally looking forward to Visserys's response to this outburst when Otto inevitably informs him of it now that Rhaenyra is his favorite option for the throne. Westeros took much, much longer to give him cause to really lose his shit in canon.

i sort of called it 😅

And to be honest, he's all but called for treason against the crown, he's absolutely stepped in it in hilarious fashion.

...though I do want to exercise mercy and let his followers take the Black if we can.

He's not the smartest guy and very desperate, so he basically tried to pro-gamer move himself out of this. Somehow. It's a work in progress. Surely, by the time he defeated a Kingsguard in single combat, he has figured something out.

"How high can the Cock playing at Falcon soar?"
-Several minutes of running him through and kicking him out the Moon Door later-
"So low, so low. As low as his Honor."

Eh, it still might be worth checking at least? Like there's no harm in asking a sufficiently loyal Maester. Either way, I think my point that the extra security afforded to her outweighs any weirdness applies.

But here to, we can and should just ask. Marriage would be a bit out of left field rn, because we only recently started courting Alicent, but we can ask them both if they'd be okay with Gwayne and us publicly sort-of courting as cover for us and Alicent.

But he went on. "I see no King before me. Just a spoiled girl playing with her father's title."

Let us take the blade and prove to the realm that there is no place for traitors, for Arnold Erryn has forfeited his right to live when he mocked the king and the crown princess.
