The Long Founding (Warhammer 40k)

Could Cadia ever be a homeworld option for an anti-Black Crusade chapter?

[ ] Testing, Testing 1,2: The Forge World of Murphius has returned, and they're just as utterly insane as it was with the last request you were handed. This time, those lunatics have been experimenting with 'rediscovered' chainswords. You really wish you could disavow all involvement with whatever idiocy is about to ensue.
Condition: The next Chapter gets the Randomized Chainsword Quality trait.

It amuses me that these are probably the best people left in the modern Mechanicus and Grimm would only loathe them even more for it.

What's next?

Chainsword "with integrated Flamer", that has bigger chance of causing Marine wielding it to burn to death, than his enemy?

Maybe (hopefully) they will do other kind of chain weaponry ?,they are so many of them:Chain Axe,Chain bayonet,Chainfist,Chainflail,Chain Glaive,Chain Knife,Chain Halberd,Chain Hammer ( a weird one),Chain Spear,Chain Greatsword,Arm-Mounted Chainblade,Chain Dagger,etc

Eddit: hopefully they will spread a bit the "rediscovered" chain weapons,i was a bit disapointed of the lack of mention of those "rediscovered" bolters being used by other chapter or the wider imperium.

We really need to start unlocking new equipment.
Yep,we could get them all for 40 points if you don't count the sinlge use stc equipment ( wich is a litle weird ,why providing those equipment to a spacemarine chapter would be such a loss of prestige for the forge world that they wouldn't accept to provide them to more than a single chapter ?).

[ ] Plan Super Therapist + a butload of new equipment
-[ ] The Shamed: As things stands there is nothing to do with Marines who have fallen out of favor with their Chapter, nor those who have committed crimes steep enough to bring dishonor, yet not severe enough to warrant death…. Of course, the only thing even remotely fitting to monitor these wayward Marines would be other Marines.
Conditions: Chapter gains politics training for free, extra Chaplains, and will be of an unusual size.
-[ ] Traitor Legion Geneseed: If you wish, you could gain access to the gene-seed of the Traitor Legions. Each will have its benefits and costs, but all of them will have their gene-fathers concealed for practical reasons - little point creating a Chapter only for them to be wiped out by some overly paranoid fool. Write in a traitor legion. 10 Points for each time this is taken.
--[ ] World Eaters
-[ ] Potent Gene-Seed Charge: Some samples of a chapter's gene-seed are more likely to retain their stronger traits, and you have isolated such samples. 5 Points for each charge. Burn a charge to make the chapter roll for two traits from their parent legion.
-[ ] Adaptive Gene-Seed: Some samples of Gene-seed are more capable of adapting to different conditions on different planets. 5 Points each charge. Burn a charge to roll an extra planetary trait.
-[ ] Legendary Gene-Seed: The finest Gene-Seed ever recovered from a given Legion. 15 Points per charge, Burn a Charge to add a Legion's legendary traits to the roll list for that round.
-[ ] Extra Trainers: With some extra effort and yelling at a few more bureaucrats, you ought to be able to arrange things so the new Chapter is able to get in some extra specialized training before proper deployment. 15 Points. Burn 1 charge to get an extra training option.

-[ ] Extra Land Speeders: The Chapter has access to extra Land Speeders of various Patterns, granting them a more capable fast attack force. 10 Points.
-[ ] Extra Assault Bikes: The Chapter has access to more Assault Bikes than average, expanding their capability in hit and run tactics. 5 Points.
-[ ] Extra Whirlwinds: This chapter has access to more Whirlwind artillery pieces than is average. 5 Points
-[ ] Extra Vindicators: This chapter has greater access to the Vindicator piece than most. 5 Points
-[ ] More Stalkers: The Chapter has additional platforms of the Stalker anti-aircraft vehicle. 5 Points

It's not about prestige, it's so much more for Mechanicus, knowledge is the fundamental and holy doctrine of the Machine Cult. Each Forge World has their own secrets and sacred technologies, and the don't want to share them with anyone, wanting to just hoard them for themselves.

If they offer to give another group of people, so much as knowledge that those technologies exists, let alone physically gift them, it's incredibly unusual for them to do, whatever reason for them commiting to such action, as unique as the technology itself, and there's no way they will repeat this.

So, are we certain about doing the Shamed now and not later? I know that any of the choices help in one way or another, I guess I'm just worried about leaving our breadbaskets comparatively undefended during a Black Crusade.

Frog mentioned several times that we influence only details of the Galaxy not the larger picture. No matter what we do, the outcome will be mostly the same, at most, we can make Black Crusade somehow shorter than it was in canon, if we roll well enough but nothing more. What happened in official material will happen no matter what.

So yeah...There's really no reason to worry about those things too much. Also, I really don't want to waste those 80 points, just so we can play "safe", when we can use them to create some fun Chapters, with mixed geneseed for example, or a lot of gadgets or something. Quest should be first and foremost fun and I think this is perfect occasion to do this. Beside, we still have one more turn, before The Third Black Crusade happens, so we can do this stuff later.

[ ] Plan Highlanders Ahoy-No requests.
-[ ] Do as you will: You will not be taking any requests at this time.

-[ ] Cauter Blade: A specialized vibro blade of intense cutting power, which the Techpriest showing it to you theorizes was probably made for usage against regenerating creatures by the Ancients. When the Cauter Blade is active, the middle of the blade becomes superheated to the point that both sides of the wounds it creates are separately cauterized, keeping the wound from healing properly and making it far more difficult to reattach or regenerate lost limbs. It does, of course, come with the caveat that enemies struck with it face no fear of bleeding out whatsoever.

Proposing a plan for Scottish World Eaters, aiming to get some honorary rival-brothers to the Space Wolves who can watch their backs.
If there is any errors on point allocations, let me know.

[ ] Reinforcing Obscurus: An increase in threats in Segmentum Obscurus has led to many within the Imperium pushing for additional Space Marines within the region. A contribution by you would go a long way towards assuaging their fears.
Goals: Create a chapter on a world with the (Segmentum Obscurus) tag.
I like dis one.

Hmm....

Hey @undead frog, am I allowed vote?

Cause I gotta admit, I like this one.

We doing the Shamed for this chapter?

I feel like they'll be vital for the Third Black Crusade, both as a test of cooperation between each Chapter and to see how much impact we can have with a potential Legion-sized Space Marine chapter guarding the planets near Cadia and serving as an alternate to Deathwatch.

We mist do it because this is the last time we can make a chapter with 80 points to play around and this type of chapter must not be fucked around.
