I was expecting more advice on being a female ruler and keeping it out of the hands of power hungry men, but learning the Art of the Pick-Up Game by Jeyne Arryn is still great.
Doing just dancing kind of limited the amount of conversation. That would be the kind of conversation you'd get from talking with her, or doing talking and dancing.

[X] Plan Talk A Lot

Basically exactly what I was thinking off. Reintegrate ourselves with Otto, further integrate with Jeyne, finally get a read on Gwayne, and get back in the good books with Viserys.

Next turn we'll have to mend our relationship with Johanna.

I do think we need to start more seriously considering marriage prospects not just for ourselves, but for Alicent. Laenor is a decent possibility for a husband who we can beard for one another and bring Corlys back to our good graces.

But other than maybe Harwin we'll have to really do some investigating to find men who'll be down for some kind of amicable polycule or separate mistresses deal.

Honestly, maybe we should think of finding Otto a potential successor as Hand of the King for Alicent to marry? That way she can stay at court and continue to influence both her husband and the Queen in the favor of the Hightowers. Otto might appreciate such a plan.

If a relationship with Gwayne isn't in the cards it also wouldn't be too onerous to find him a small council position in the future.

I'm ambivalent about the Train with Syrax action, but everything else here seems exactly right.

I'm in favor of either alternating knight/dragon training every turn or doing a 2:1 ratio.

Currently we've trained with Syrax on Turn 1, done Knight Training on Turns 2 and 4, and so if Train Syrax wins in Turn 5 that kinda sets a pattern?

...though we did have a Turn 3 where we did no training at all. Really slacked off. :V

I do like the 2:1 idea, 2-3 Training actions a year, 1 Dragon Training action?

That was my thought as well.

We can swap out history.
There is probably something in getting dragon-theory and doing dragon-practice the same turn.

If we had it committed that we'd do...

3 Training (Knight) actions a year
1 Training (Dragon) actions a year
2-3 Study Actions a year

That would put us at 6-7/8, leaving us 1-2 free plus the ability in times of trouble to take a stress hit to do a third thing, which is still absolutely worth it if there's some immediate crisis.

-[X] [Conversation] Speak with Lord Lyonel Strong
-[X] [Action] Train

Otto ang Jeyne Conversations are pretty easy, but I believe that properly establishing a discussion with Lord Strong is important.

As Master of Laws is a powerful role we should try to keep amicable, he additionally is useful as an influence known for wanting the best for the realm. Otto is someone we know know in character is a schemer proper, we need to begin properly understanding the rest of the council and if Lord Strong can aid us to getting there that wouldn't be a poor thing to begin. Additionally this can lead to potentially a meeting with his son, and maybe we may find something there or learning that perhaps such won't work in this timeline may be useful looking forward.

I understand that the Hightowers are powerful but their position is weaker without this marriage, and while trying to understand Gwayne could be useful, I don't think its more important than further expanding our base of support.

Finally, I agree we need to Train with Syrax, but I'm pro also training physically at the same time. Properly show our dedication as a warrior, we can't just be good, we must be great, we must be remarkable.

Would head of the Gold Cloaks be a good place to put him?

Would help entrentch the Hightowers even more to balance out the burgeoning Westerlands influence. If anyone has the money to spare to fix up the gutted Gold Cloaks it would be the Hightowers.

Also smooths any possible ruffled feathers that Otto might have when we kinda poached Alicent for ourselves. Hand of the King, Princess' Handmaiden, amd Commander of the Gold Cloaks is pretty spectacular runner up to marrying Alicent to Viserys.

I actually think now is a good time to do Valyrian History to further improve relations with Viserys. The dance didn't knock him down below warm but we are about to ask an upsetting favor of him so it pays to keep in the black.

Same, I want to train both to gain good skills in both so Rhaenyra can be 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘦 Rhaenyra the Dragonknight! Poach the title from your hopefully not-existing-anymore descendants!

The thing is, I think we need to talk to Vizzy T for the Royal Progress and IIRC we want to do it right now to get to know Laenor and co for future husband purposes?

Being a princess knight is hard.

edit: thinking about it, I'll just go for training SWORD. Otherwise Ser Tarly may be disappointed and I could never disappoint our first hypeman

Aside from obligations we just committed to, Otto almost certainly hasn't given up on getting the Hightowers directly into the Red Keep, so to speak- let's talk about Daemon's marriage and see how/if the conversation turns to other marriages. Plus we might as well figure out whether Gwayne is cool or not.

Regarding actions, we need to practice with Syrax if we want to stand a chance in actual combat once the alt!Dance kicks off- no matter our clever political maneuvers, there's no way we end up with every dragonrider in the realm defending our claim. Plus we should probably check in with dad, perhaps see if there's some Valyrian precedent for annulments....?

I am tempted by SWOLE. Though I'd think dragon riding is pretty physically demanding (horseriding is and dragons are like bigger) so probably isn't gonna ruin Rhaenyras physique if she isn't swording this phase

Also I know this one isn't a smooth talker, but wonder if Rhaenyra could smooth Jeyne's feelings by going "oh noo so sorry, i really wanted to dance and thought doing it with a boy would suggest a betrothal and really overshadow your wedding. that's it I promise!!!!" :V

If we are to be a knight, we must keep our nose to the grindstone and hone our skills.
