We need to do non-defensive options once in a while
But we've passed up on every defensive option so far. The lake blessing for defense lost for example, and the last time we invested in settlement defenses was the basic paliside a few turns ago.

We need to start investing into defenses more seriously, and now is as good a time as any.

technically, investing in attempting to get CMP does more for our long-term defense than building the settlement wall, I'd say.

We really haven't needed defensive options though. Most of the time we have plenty of the Green defenders around. And even if we drop down to 50% the event rolls probably wouldn't be catastrophic ...

If we were a normal Baron the calculus would've been much tougher, since taking a defensive option might mean rejecting a project that would double income (and thus project rate).

Ultimately we expect to take walls in the next couple of turns regardless. If nothing else, because we'll want them up before we start doing the upgrades that have defense penalties attached.

However, we also want cultivators to make the walls really effective, especially when we're away, and that is, unfortunately, gacha. Improving our odds at actually acquiring some in the few turns we have before the war arc would be desirable, and is something that benefits from being done a turn earlier.
