A Reforged World (NO SV, You are King of Italy, in a Greatly Changed World)

[X]Princess Isabella of Austria: Possibly the strongest choice of the matches currently, politically and socially, and would grant you much-needed legitimacy across of all of Europe. She was to be wed to the King of Denmark, but with the rapid changes to the south, the Emperor decided to keep her close, and maybe make use of her, despite her own wishes on the contrary. Brilliant but not of the greatest health, but incredibly savvy and political, a patron of the arts with what little funds she has access to, and she is ideal to ally with the Emperor and the Hapsburgs. There is but one problem. Her poor health. There is a very real possibility that she will die before she marries you in Rome, or even give you children. It's a concern that the Government did take into account, but her own political position, and what she brings to the table, are worth risking her life.

Qm:Would it be a problem for us if the princess Isabella died of poor health after, during or before the wedding?, or would it just be "hey bad luck it had to happen soon or late with her problems, sent the next one." ?

It would depend on how and when it happened and that is all I will say.

Glad to see the vote inspire so much confidence.

I know it does for me. And I needed this!

Let's try the obvious and trust the dice to give us some time

[X]Princess Isabella of Austria

Worst case scenario, she dies before the marriage and we are back to square 0.5, having shown some goodwill around and starting a new round of selection. All the ladies and countries involved know that this match is all about politics, nobody would take offence at not being the first pick.

Honestly, best case scenario with Anna of Bohemia is that her Dad dies soon enough and Louis II of Hungary has no interest in attacking the Ottomans in the near future.

Messing around with an AI Art site and I got this image for a painting of King Luciano I on the day he reached his majority:

Luciano: They are strange but I would think they hold my best interests at heart. Most of the time.

Wouldn't be surprised if there are anyone in the Thread and the Quest who has the ambition for Italy to restore the City of Byzantium under "Roman" (Italian) Rule.

Anyway, what would be the current goals of Italy in terms of Foreign Assembly? Establishing a Sphere of Influence across the Mediterranean?

And we need ways to make sure the Italian Navy and Military does not grow complacent or become WW2 Equivilent..

I do want to say, regardless of any thing else, we need to name a son Rodrigo (Roderick) after Luciano's father and Niccolo (Nicholas), for the man who has been like a father to him since his parents' deaths.

That will actually be an action next turn.

Pirate hunting and stoping the North African slave trade.

That will keep them busy for a long time.

And it will blood our next generation of officers and sailors.

It's the army that needs a total restructuring and rebuilding. They have the most technical king in the world that can recreate weapons that won't be seen for hundreds of years and the greatest arms industry on the planet.

But our soldiers are shit and our officers even more so.

Said officers are mostly mercenary veterans that are looking to retire old.

Better hurry for kids, Niccolos poor heart can't take much more insanity, especially after his first heart attack last quest.

Looking at the previous Education Plan Roll..

Wouldn't the concept that even Commoners from the lows and highs gets the opportunity to have education would attract immigration from across Europe?

Not just commoners and Nobles who sympathise with them..but also other Scientists, Innovators, and other Academia?

Mayhaps the concept of Academic Meritocracy might also influence Military reformers towards Military Meritocratic concepts along with a Professional Force inspired by the Roman Empire but adapted and updated to fit Next-Gen Military warfare?
