Springtime of Nations II: A European Republic Quest

I mean, yeah, but I meant in the context of potentially starting a war either now or in the near future with the Imperial League. How do our boats stack up against theirs, and how quickly should the German Baltic coast residents be packing their bags, if at all? I know we were doing a buildup, but how much of that has materialised already and how much is still to come?
According to Etranger on discord, if we'd stayed on course to 1903-ish, we'd have be nearly guaranteed to win against a combined Scandinavian-Russian Baltic Fleet.

As it is, I'm expecting we're going to need to play Fleet-In-Being games with them.

Oh.

The incident is in September, our fast mobilization is still in the realm of 2-3 weeks. Our first wave will complete in...mid Fall?, and then winter comes edit: 1 1/2 months later?

Something to keep in mind for our expectations about the upcoming war.

Is there a reason why immigration from Asia and Africa so negligible? I mean we invested quite a lot on immigration after all.

Also can you make a update on religious fremework in Germany?

And you received substantial immigration from European countries, which are quite close by, whereas Asia and Africa are far away.

This is primarily a political and historical quest, so I'm not going to touch on religious issues except insofar as they pertain to the politics and history of the Republic. Given how secular the present system is, they're not especially relevant.

A combination of closed colonial borders and being quite-far-away-actually.
Our closest neighbours, their closest neighbours, and their closest neighbours are pretty much all Abrahamic. And we don't get on well with most of the countries involved, either. To migrate from a country with a decent non-Abrahamic population to Germany involves a lot of border crossings and/or a very long ship journey. Most of the people who could afford to do it are probably rather upper-crust, and thus tend not to have much pressing need to get the hell out of their home countries or specific desire to come to a radically leftist republic whose government is actively dismantling class-based distinctions. As transportation technology advances and cheapens this will eventually be less true... but it's going to take quite a while, probably outside the scope of this quest.

There's also the fact that the geography isn't too good for us either. Unless we want to try to drive our army over the Austrian Alps to the south or the Bohemian Forest Mts./Ore Mts. to the north, we're going to have to push most of our army through the relatively narrow gap the Danube goes through if we want to strike into Austria.

Of course, that kind of choke point means we want to give them the minimum time possible to prepare and fortify it, so...

Hope they don't have too many machine guns.

[X] Rattle the saber.

I think that everyone here wants to destroy the Imperial League, and that's great because they're a collection of rotting, shambling zombie-states who only continue to function because of bureaucratic and social inertia.

However, we should at least maintain the fig leaf of peace to the Austrians, no matter how illusory it is in the face of the inevitable war. Not only will this placate international observers (I'd rather we continue our lucrative and probably-crucial neutrality with the Entente than have them at war with us), it'll make the war and its aftermath much easier for us to deal with. Simply declaring war immediately may cause a rally round the flag effect in League countries, which is counterproductive if we're to liberate them.

[X] Rattle the Saber

Do you guys forget that we are around the time of WW1? This won't be a steamroll, it will be a long, bloody slog.

At the very least we need time to ensure the Entente won't see this as a perfect opportunity to stab us in the back!

Honestly, the more I think about it, the more I feel like this is happening at a very poor time for us in terms of international relations. We're definitely taking the option that penalized our relations at this point, just after we spooked the British and US with the coop buyouts and naval buildup, and snubbed the French by recognizing the Jeonju government.

But if we want to go to war with them at all for this, we can't wait to try to see if they did blow the monitor up or keep the figleaf of wanting peace by delaying a week or two to hopefully avoid further relationship blows, since that would just give the League time to prepare. So we're stuck charging in unless the thread suddenly goes for a major about face to avoid war at all.

I feel reticent about declaring war without a proper Baltic Fleet but if we keep delaying it then we will never liberate the peoples of Europe.
