Let's leave room for escalation. We can still get Sakurada and say 'I did warn you'.
Conferring with Artemis might have been a good idea though. Have we discussed Mina's situation with him in any depth at all?

Thinking about it more, having our folks available in case we need more people to handle crises seems like something that's part of our general policy, not part of this specific plan.

"I, the superintendent of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police, am a friend of your daughter" is a very different vibe from "I, a girl your daughter's age, am a friend of your daughter." Just saying.

Really, if we have to (and can, still haven't confirmed we can) bring an adult to the initial meeting, I'd want to go with Ikuko, as Usagi's parent and presumed owner of the couch Minako is surfing on.

(Honestly, I'd assume this is garden variety Issues, with Mr Aino just so happening to work in the Evil Skyscraper District rather than that causing any of Mina's home situation.)

Shapelin Gym had a Shapeshifting Ray that they used to make people taller and more muscular. And as far as I know, there were no real downsides besides the fact that they used it until they were REALLY big.
 
Yeah, I'm 77% sure we're not gonna end up with a face-full of Kamen Rider chicanery, but I'd still rather have Superintendent Sakurada at the very least waiting in a nondescript (or even her personal, off-the-clock) car just in case going as Just Usagi isn't enough to get in the door.

Hell, I'd be pushing for my The Blonde and the Badge plan even if I thought the Ainos were utterly boring. Usagi is the olive branch of "explain it to me, a child, your child's friend, so I can explain it to her and she can stop pretending she doesn't feel horrible." Sakurada is the stick. There is no carrot, because I'm not about to give them the Good Parenting Award. Because Genma stole it. If this could be handled without police, that would be fantastic. But I doubt it would be that simple.

I'm pretty sure we failed any scans we did on the pods, and then Usagi glitterbombed the room while cutting all the pipes, before Rei burnt the place to flinders because sleep-fairy crawled into her hair. We do have all the knowledge about the runes in the Rune Array room, so maybe there's still hope?

Don't got time to go back and double check, but I think the ray was in a different room.

And even if it wasn't, both MCAT (due to seizing everything that was in the place) and Jadeite (who was in charge of the place and is probably the most knowledgeable about the magic involved) should know more about it.

The point is, we literally already discovered a magic which does that, we just gotta go metaphorically dig it up.

I read through that part just two days ago, during a reread. We got some paperwork from the offices, which we turned over to the police, and Ami scanned the Rune Array room, which was a horrible spaghetti-coded mess that drained off bad emotions from gym-goers, refined the energy, and then fed it back into the gym-goers so they'd have even MORE Life Energy to be siphoned.

Jadeite likely does know the spells used at Shapelin, so point for that. Doubt that he'd be willing to give it to us. He'd probably scoff and call it a flight of teenaged fancy, before giving Venus some somewhat backhanded encouragement, like "Shukra was a seven foot tall pain in my neck; given that you're already a pain in my side, you'll probably hit eight feet easily."

The Shape Ray is a different room from either the Rune Array Room, and the Life Energy Storage Room.

Edit: After some more reading, the pod room was the ray room, not the storage room. My bad.


But, that means the fairy is probably the power source of the ray. And, well, we should probably ask Jadeite about the Fairy ANYWAYS. We still know nothing about it IC

We know it's a fairy, it's sleepy, and it helps Usagi sleep real good. Usagi (and us readers) stopped caring to look into it further than that, partially because some of the readers knew which PreCure season he is from. It would probably have been a good idea to question why it was stuck in the pod room's central fixture back then, but I doubt there'd be much enthusiasm to see that added to our list of possible actions each Turn. ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯
 
Yeah much as seeing the Shocker potential lead came out of left field and intrigues me, this visit is for Minako. Getting info on Shocker should come later, or when we run into a Karate Bugman.

I just wish we were able to do small social things without an action. Like, you know, asking our allies about stuff. There's a lot of stuff it feels like we should have gotten a chance to ask about, but has never really came up, and there's really no way we can make an action dedicated to it

Since the plan is essentially to go the next day, yes you have time to prep, even if I am cutting to the scene at the point of being at the door, so any plans that want to involve that stuff works fine.

Technically speaking, it was the runes that generated a decent part of the effect, so if that is brought up around Ami, she should have more information.

You bring up a good point, which is that I don't actually know what's considered socially appropriate in this time and place.

Usagi presumably does, though, so maybe we should express the plan in a way that puts "who do we bring?" onto Usagi's DIP skill
 
One thing that I had in mind when writing the update, but don't really have the language to put on paper in english, is that Minako's use of pronouns and self referencing changed depending on if she was referring to Minako, in which she used atashi, or Master Fives, in which she used boku.

I had my Beta poke me and remind me that no, that is supposed to be Usagi, because Minako has pretty much always been Master Fives at the arcade, so she doesn't really have a sense of how people would react to her at the arcade instead of him. But she has seen how people react to Usagi at the arcade
