So besides the obvious industrial, computers and food stuff what other stuff will are allies ask of us like our fighter jets and AA systems and stuff?

How is "Federation" anything other than Red Imperialism 2: Third World Electric Boogaloo? Do you think we're going to get Russia or China to come quietly along? Confederation / Treaty Organization is a path that does not lead to Empire and does not lead to Soviet Union But Warmer And Rainbower and is thus less likely to encounter its failures as well.

The soviet union and china aren't part of this pact to begin with. It's a third branch of communism not formally aligned to either of them.

The only way we get a unified nation out of the federation is by convincing everyone to see themselves as one through repeatedly demonstrating the merits of the cybernetic pact, because all participants are voluntarily associated voting members, not subject of one continuous empire that has been converted into a socialist state without territorial changes.

I sincerely doubt that these disparate nations all affected by imperialism in some way signed up with the pact so they could be apart of Imperialism but gayer.

And I'm aware that maybe calling the Federation option imperialist might be a little extreme, but it really feels like a play on Guangchou's part to get all these third world countries together under the promise of aid and cooperation and turn that into "and now we are going to be one nation undivided"

I mean, Gunagchau kind of has to join up with a bigger group. Look at its position on the map. It's bracketed by enemies to the north and south, and it's an island nation at the mercy of the largest and most powerful navy in the world.

There's no way to contest that on its own.

There's also the ideological matter: the end state of communism does entail the end of states as we know them, but that doesn't have to be a imperialist project. We need to carefully balance everyone's development to prevent certain nations becoming dominant in CyPac's internal politics, but it's work that's worth doing even if it's difficult.
And if it takes some more debates among the player base about how to do so, well, that's also good dialectics. :V

Well...

We do know about the concept brought by the Americans with Star Trek...

The challenge would be convincing people the idea isn't just blind idealism and could be realized, for entirely justified reasons.

To everyones knowledge we were the first to invent mechs that no believe was technologically possible yet for centuries as well.

[X] Federation

While I do think realistically humanity isn't ready for this kind of mass scale unification, considering the fact that we have mechs and dog people here I don't see why we couldn't follow through on blind idealism.

I have one thing to say if we Actually succeed in making a federation it going to be so shocking to the world as we made a new United and better third world
