[X] You
Baba/Kragg!Hooooly carp. For reference: that's almost a thousand years, as Kislev was founded early 1500th.
Honestly she sounds like the starting character of Divided Loyalties 2. Boney is messing with the Timestream. You talk with Zlata a while longer, and the overall impression you get is that what you see is what you get - she's fairly competent, fairly scholarly, and fairly out of her depth.
There's something to be said here about Mathilde's willingness to push the boundaries of the things she follows or studies or worships without crossing any lines. In this update alone she affirms that mono-Wind mastery is entirely valid as opposed to Qhaysh, but is at the same time inquiring as to what other people think about the nature of gods and having multiple aspects. Before I go to bed, I also want to say: It's hilarious that Mathilde did such a good job instilling ideals of patriotism and national unity in the EIC, that now its various members are a royal pain for the rest of her Order to get any kind of leverage on.
She basically admitted to trying to install Ranald in the Stirland Watch because she was upset with Sigmar, and leaves a trail of His four Faces everywhere she goes, yet somehow she was instrumental in creating an organization that appears wildly out of character to anything remotely Ranaldian. It looks almost Agnostic from the outside, being about profit and not faith, but it would otherwise easily be mistaken for a Sigmarite Mercantile Cult due to their chest-thumping patriotism and die-hard unwillingness to even glance at a Dwarf with anything less than complete forthrightness.
Reiner Starke must be so confused.
Well he did produce a Mathilde, or at the very least didn't prevent a Mathilde from making herself. Was Regimand a good teacher? I remember he was a good ally, but the only relevant datum on his teaching ability I can remember is that Mathilde had forgotten half the spells she learned by the time the quest started.
This really brings up the desire to take the arcane mark actions. Onward to transcendence and glory as a being of shadow and magic.
The issue with that is that Ulgu has one really, really bad mark that we are very lucky to have avoided thus far. While somewhat bearable for a WHRPG adventurer, Mathilde is way too much of a public figure with way too many responsibility on her shoulders to get the mark that causes everyone forget who she is.
I think taking the "attempt to control your arcane marks" action might help reduce the thread's fear of that mark. I mean, it would still suck, but if we knew we could bring the marks somewhat under control and mitigate them, I suppose it might not be all bad.The issue with that is that Ulgu has one really, really bad mark that we are very lucky to have avoided thus far. A problem with this line of reasoning is that it can also be turned on its head and argued that Mathilde came out as she was in spite of what he did (or, conversely, neglected to) teach her.Well he did produce a Mathilde, or at the very least didn't prevent a Mathilde from making herself.
