Prince Aladdin Quest (Disney Villains *Almost* Victorious)

I can see why you want this one but we have a one-time chance to buff diplo and military actions against the oncoming Huns.
Technically two-time, we'll have the chance to do it again next turn. And hopefully securing the domestic intel network will buff our effort to handle our foreign intel network. It also unlocks the rumor mill. Lastly, from what I've studied of the Mongols historically, they made a habit of sending spies to infiltrate places they were planning to invade. I want to make sure they don't already have people in Ababwa.

Anyway, voting's open!

[X] Plan: Inwards and Outwards
- [X][Martial] Reinforce Borders Set up extra guard posts and increase patrols
While Ababwa has a standing rotation of forces, guard posts and patrols, after that rift Aladdin is feeling like some increased vigilance may be called for. Step up patrols and order the creation of new guard postings to cover any gaps in border observation.
DC: 30
Cost: 3500 gold
- [X][Stewardship] Expand housing district
No one in Ababwa goes without a roof over their heads, that's one thing Genie made very sure of. But there are always people coming into the city; and some of them might wish to stay. Expand the housing district to make sure that there's room for all. (Allows for additional population within Ababwa; gain +500 in income per turn from increased trade and taxes)
DC: 15
Cost: 2500 gold
- [X][Diplomacy] Send Envoys to the (East/West/North/South)
--[X] East: According to the maps you have the Hunnic States and the Silk Road lie in that direction. A good chance for profit! And to perhaps head off raids.
Sometimes the outstretched hand is the better leadoff than the clenched fist. See if you can make diplomatic connections with any of your neighbors that you don't have already.
DC: 35
Cost: 1000 gold
- [X][Intrigue] The Hills Have Eyes
Have Haroud focus his efforts on the eastern border and see if his men can pick up any hints or rumors as to what the small horde of Mongolians is intending for their destination, wherever it may be. At the very least it will give you more accurate knowledge of their movements that would allow the troops to get to them faster in the event of an attack. Reduces DC for Diplomacy and Martial actions against Mongolians next turn.
DC: 50
Cost: 3000 Gold
- [X][Learning] Once and Future Prince
You are apparently a wise, kind, and just ruler who is almost supernaturally capable in his abilities-Or at least, you were. Better go learn how to do what you did, so you can do it again before things start to take a turn for the worse! Takes 3 off of Stewardship malus
DC: 35
Cost: 1000 Gold
- [X][Learning]Assign Chiron to assist a Hero
--[X]Aladdin - Once and Future Prince
- [X][Occult] Tomes, Trinkets and Treasures
Scour the University library for any magical references. Even if there are no magicians or sorcerors in the kingdom, there may be references to them, or to artifacts of power that can be used for the good of the kingdom in the University library. Scour the shelves and try to find anything. May lead to relics, heroes or adventures.
DC: 65
Cost: 0 Gold
- [X][Personal] Correspond with Jasmine
Better to stick to how Jasmine wished to conduct things. Pen her a letter, tell her about Ababwa and what's been happening. Barring any state secrets of course... Can affect relationship with Jasmine.
DC: 1
- [X][Personal] A Cover is not the Book
Look into knowledge pertaining to People - You've a cheap sort of charm to you, but that's not going to cut it forever, especially now that you're in the big leagues. Try and figure out how to talk in high society, maybe the Sultan or Jasmine can help? Gain +1 Diplomacy. Chance of gaining a trait.
DC: 1/95

Nope:

We need to do it this turn for it to grant the bonus for next turn.

---[X]Aladdin
-[X][Occult] Tomes, Trinkets and Treasures

New challenge for the thread: When making a plan title, always use an appropriate line from a Disney song. :D

Persuaded to not do Diplomacy until next turn so that we hopefully have that Intrigue bonus on it. However we may wanna do "Once and Future Prince" for that learning because ugh, Stewardship malus hurts mah soul.

Not a problem. The mongols will arrive during the results phase of next turn. Which means that you will have time to implement actions against them next turn. One of the small good things about them getting closer is that it means you have less ground to cover to get where they are and back.
Seems somewhat contradicted by what Tempest wrote?

Jwolfe has the correct interpretation, I apologize deeply for the confusion. Basically if you choose to do the Intrigue option, it lowers the DCs for next turn, which it does specifically say in the vote option. So then you would have a lowered DC on those other options next turn if you did the Intrigue option now.

Why are you doing this, instead of sending diplomatic feelers out East?
To me it was that or East. I felt that since we are going to be working with Agrabah a lot, it might be best to have an embassy (particularly before we start trade etc). If people really prefer the East diplomacy I ca swap it out.

Depends on if the action would get altered the coming turn. The way I read it, the action involves our people going out, getting information and coming back so that we can use it the next turn.

Also doing it now will allow us to do more 'active' intrigue actions against them next turn.

Someone give me a character to do an Omake on. I'm in a creative mood and I need to write! I already have one in mind to write but I need prompts.

[X] Plan: Inwards and Outwards

I honestly think we need more income and a business relationship with Agraba would be good for us.
We are fine. The most expensive plan costs around 9000, Income is 8000.

The point of going for houses is to expand the amount of people who can stay in Ababwa. Which no amount of money is going to fix if you never pay to build more buildings.

Changed Underworld to The Hills Have Eyes. We *really* need to secure the home front, but needs must.

Not a local preferably. Hero or villain, not picky. I avoid locals because I tend to make my side stories focused on things that we otherwise wouldn't see in the main thread, so therefore I avoid Agrabah in the hopes of fleshing out the outside portions of the setting.
How about Barbarossa? I always loved his character.

we are fine now we do not know more ahead, also we will have to pay the army if we end up fighting against the Mongols, in addition to hiring mercenaries, and of course building buildings in our possessions to increase our levies I have imposed

[X] Plan: ...to defeat, the Huns, I mean Mongols.
-[X][Martial] Reinforce Borders Set up extra guard posts and increase patrols

-[X][Intrigue] Get the lay of the local underworld
-[X][Learning] Once and Future Prince
-[X][Occult] Golden Afternoon
-[X][Personal] Correspond with Jasmine
-[X][Personal] Assist one of your advisors in a task.
