This was a fun interlude that I've been looking forward to, @DragonParadox. I don't mind there not being any combat, since that wouldn't really make much since here. The interactions between the kids were great.

I can imagine the kids knocking on people's doors and very earnestly telling them they need to allow an Imperial agent to temporarily patrol their home to prevent the spread of magical super rats. Then holding up a Shadow Cat to them.

If the poor kid had to go through puberty with ghost mom looking over his shoulder the entire time, he might have needed a mercy kill in a few years.

Dunno about the rest of ya'll, but today is going to suck. Not only do I have to do the family gathering thing because of the holiday, but there are going to be children there. Screaming children. And I'm going to have to pretend that I don't want them to fall down two or three flights of stairs so they'll shut up.

Yer not the only one neck deep in family-gathering. I'm currently at my grandma's house, fattening my brittle bones with delicious chickens and spicy spices. (God-Be-Merciful that there ain't a kid here though).

Have my sympathy.
 
Did we ever get an answer on the viability of abusing whatever Lydia did to those rats for other creatures? I recall us talking about it and tossing around some ideas for balancing it, but I don't remember if it went anywhere.

He learns a new feat and gains a couple additional spell slots, but that's about it. It's when he reaches 7th level that things get more interesting, since 4th level spells become available at that point.

The best thing about reaching 6th level, however, is that he's broken through the 5th level soft cap and can now progress to at least 10th level.

It's hard to see Samwell with any PRC other than Loremaster. If he goes that route, the earliest he can reasonably gain access to it would be 8th level.

"Scholarium Mage" is a very broad category, though, one which encompasses basically the entirety of our mages.

I agree that Imperial Mage would be a better fit for those who get their juice straight from the Viserys tap, but the PRC needs to be differentiated from the more general term.

Maybe something similar to what inspired it? Mage of the Imperial Order? Mage of the Imperial Scholarium?
