Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
- Markgraf: arguably the biggest shake-up. As with Bodyguard, BOOKBOON in K8P may be excessively awkward to make use of. At the same time, doing it in Sylvania seems like not the best choice if we want knowledge to be preserved through Empire turmoil. At the same time, we may want to spend the Boon, the Deed, or both on something more closely related to Sylvania.
dwarf infrastructure for sylvania. Roads, bridges, fortresses. Any or all of that.

Kragg knows more and is more 'powerful' Whatever that means.
If you want stuff to go Kaboom or need something you know dwarven runecraft is capable of, Kragg is your man. If you are trying something new and esoteric, Thorek is more likely to help. That said, there is a caveat of "Kragg remembers stuff noone else does, so lot of stuff people don't think is possible with runes actually is, he just didn't tell anyone he can do it".

While Belegar can't really help us with getting runesmiths onboard, he can help us build a kickass Research Institute.
Maybe. I'd prefer to use the Boon on a Great Library and a Great Deed on a Research Institute, rather than the reverse, because "build me the best X to ever X and make it fucking last" is something dwarves understand deep in their diggy diggy souls, and we know that what we get from a Great Deed is pretty baller research-wise (converting our wizard half-actions into research half-actions) -- the only things I think we gain from getting the Institute via Boon rather than Deed is "funding" and "permission to hire foreign magic-users instead of just collaborating with them," neither of which I value highly.

But this vote isn't over yet, so let's not get too worked up about the next big contentious vote.

Because it's a wide, wonderful world to see and experience?
There's nothing about Loremaster or Waystones job that will prevent us from seeing the world. In fact, both necessitate it to a degree. Markgraf actually seems the most land-bound, because leaving Sylvania inherently risks making our response to anything that happens there more sluggish. This won't stop us, probably, but still.

Yeah I was thinking something in that area as well. If we really want to improve Sylvania long-term, there's a lot that Dwarfs can do to help with that through fairly mundane means (trade, supplies, construction assistance, anti-Skaven precautions etc.), and Belegar is perfectly capable of bankrolling that to at least a large extent (depending on how rich K8P actually is)

Mortuary cult here we come! Also yes I am voting for this seriously.

What's with these Omegahugger sockpuppets coming out of the woodwork?

...

What's that?

The mods inform me that it doesn't count as a sockpuppet if the poster has a separate physical body from the original, even if they are bound to Omegahugger's will through foul magics? And apparently no one thought to make Necromancy illegal by SV rules. Smh my head.

(Note: that was a joke)

And so we're back to this. Would appreciate a ping if Bodyguard manages to pull up to second place so I can unvote Waystones again.

Depends if the Silk is done yet :V
Ah, there's our cut-off point for the Markgraf job: we hold Sylvania until K8P gets silk production up, at which point per our agreement with Belegar he throws fuck you amounts of money at Sylvania. At that point, its future is secure, and we can leave.

Estimated time until silk production is up and running: 20-500 years.

Should waystone win, we need to work our diplomance Kragg. He'll probably be slightly less Grim that Karaz Ankor went from 9 holds to 10 holds while he was holed up in his workshop with Bok. Might get us some more Kragg-credits to spend on knowledge tidbits.

Character is in the eye of the beholder.

There is a reason a thousand great stories are set in places like harlem and not many in places like Reykjavík.
But I like mountains :).

But also... Waystone and Loremaster involve plenty of sightseeing, probably more than the other two if i were to guess.

Anyone remember how we traded in AV+DF for Rooms of Calamity for the Colleges?

We could do that again with our Boon with Sylvania. Have K8P build good roads, bridges and maybe a fortress or two at choice locations.
For the good of the Empire :)

A hypothetical project we've been kicking around a while to make an enchanted object that would allow someone to perceive the Winds as well as Mathilde can -- without directly interfacing with their brainmeats. This originated because we love Grandpa Kragg, but he can't even see the runes on Bok's soul.

I like the idea. I'll vote for it when it comes up. How did the thread come up with the name? It's great.
