Dang, high priest hasn't broken 50 votes yet, and border princess is sitting at just under 100. I'd hoped they'd be more popular.
I'm only voting Border Princess as a gesture than any expectation of success. Barak Varr more or less admitting that they were flying by the seat of their pants likely kill enthusiasm for the option. Similar to the situation with Swamp Town, I suspect.

Added Eastern Stirland to my vote, because the Waystone Project is giving me bad vibes.

I think I'd have preferred if Waystone won in a landslide. This is just torture.

This situation is actually quite interesting. With how close the vote is even just a single voter who mixed up the two super similar Sylvania options could decide the fate of the quest.
Things can go down to the wire. If I'm remembering this correctly, in the Turn 30 main turn vote, Plan Redshirt v2 beat out Plan Last Chance For Research v2 by three votes. And Plan Last Chance For Research v3, which was a rebrand of Plan Last Chance For Research v1, had three unique voters who didn't also vote for v2. So it would've been a dead even tie if not for that one small change in plans.

The biggest issue of that turn was whether or not to recruit Johann and Max for the KD Expedition, which softlocked Mathilde's participation in the Expedition since we weren't going to recruit them and not go ourselves.

Ugh, fine.

[X] The Waystone Project
[X] Bodyguard and Tutor to Prince Mandred

Things have stagnated enough that Bodyguard looks unlikely to actually enter contention and I'd rather do Waystones than Markgraf, let alone Loremaster.

Okay fine, changing my vote.

I hope the staff will share the number of tally requests generated by this vote once it ends. First-Past-The-Post with unlimited vote switching, strategic approval voting and live updates is a wild thing to behold.

At this point I'm not even sure which option I want to win. I used to consider Waystone research my fourth favourite, but it has grown on me while reading the discussion… I'll just add it back in for now. Too many good choices, even if it took me a while to consider some of them such…

Okay I actually started getting conflicted between Edgelord and Waystones.

So I flipped a coin and Ranald decide to confirm my earlier choice. I'm sticking with the stones.

I'm going to say this again as someone who has had adverse reactions to previous votes (here and in other quests), become ok with other options winning. And I don't just mean 'resign yourself logically to the outcome' I mean seriously find something you'll enjoy about it. Definitely stop thinking about the vote in terms of 'anything but this' you're actually only reinforcing your dislike of the thing, making it worse and worse each time you say that and... being kind of an asshole to other voters in the process.

Also, go take a break if you find yourself anxious or fretting over the results. Stop looking at the tally. Votes probably not going to close soon (I wouldn't expect it to close for a few days given how active it still is and BoneyM's past behavior on votes of this sort). You are doing neither yourself nor the thread any favors by getting worked up things.

This discussion around Collin at Calamity Dum is really interesting. There's like three sides, the hopeful, the terrified, and the curious. Or some combination thereof.
