I found a real nice art that just screamed "Sir Richard about to fuck shit up" to me.
I proceeded to make shitpost edit.

Honestly what Semly is gonna do with Viserys just telling him to go home. Like will he try talking with Viserys again? Like didn't Semly think Viserys mad like Aerys for some reason?

Viserys is so radically different from the kid Semly knew that I wouldn't be surprised is he's having trouble associating them with each other. Nothing that Viserys has done so far resembles the sort of crazy they're expecting, so I doubt it'll ping anyone's radar. Especially since he's been pulling his craziest (public) stunts while buffed up to the gills.

He could have opened up the invasion with a rant on the arcane value of toilet seats and by the end of his speech had half of the city wearing them as necklaces while the second half plotted to steal them from the first.

He claimed this in the books when he came to Dany and was in the awkward position of having to explain why he had not shown up any earlier. Like, a decade ago or so.

Conveniently, he was proven right by history, so Dany didn't realize Selmy explanation was full of shit.
Selmy, as commander of the Kingsguard, was part of the Small Council so he was perfectly aware of what had become of Viserys due to Varys telling him.

I mean, Crake provided a pretty charitable explanation for Barristans behavior in so far that he is merely a narcissist who never had to deal with failure in his life and thus learned to rationalize his troubles away.
But honestly? Shitting on Viserys was a very clever move to get into Danys good graces. I'm pretty sure that Selmy knows full well what he is doing.

"Is he secretly a mastermind or just a lucky idiot?" is, as always, a relevant question to ask :V

Slaving away on the strategic combat system. It's shaping up to be too complicated to realistically run it by hand, but I'm already coding it to be automatically resolved for testing purposes anyway. Results are looking promising so far though.

Need some sleep now. More details tomorrow.

This talk about Selmy having "too much pride to work alongside sellswords" is absolutely baffling to me. @Duesal is dead wrong. We quite literally see him do so for months in canon ASOIAF without any issues we'd care about.
If we want to loot this high-level martial PC, we absolutely can. We looted Liomond Lashare, who is definitely guilty of worse crimes than Barristan, so why not loot this latest moral coward who's good at swording? Is it just because he isn't as sassy as Liomond?
