Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
It's pretty clear what they're intended to be for, so they can be merged through the tally system. While it would be nice if they matched, only invalid votes should be challenged. Also, he's been pinged at least three times by now.
Honestly, if they read this quest entirely through google translate and still want to participate, more power to them.

We don't like half of the Dwarf kings we have met.

The slayer kings are everything mathy dislikes about the dwarfs, half the thread would push the high king off a cliff and the less said about Bad Dwarf-dad the better.

Loremaster-at-large is not 'keep working with Bro-king'

its about working with those assholes as well.

I'd argue we've done plenty to ensure she if not trust at least has leverage over us, in that we didn't reveal her as a conwoman, and have since made ourselves increasingly complicit in her scheme.

I don't really agree. Literally the only thing we've done is not expose her.

Her "leverage" is basically exposing herself and say "Mathilde knew all along" which I'm pretty sure would be really bad for her.

I really dislike this argument because I think it's quite unfair.

First because neither Abel nor Belegar did anything to win our trust before we started working for them, it was only after we did that we grew to respect them and they earned our trust.

And second because applied the other way around Mathilde has not done anything to win Heidi's trust, and yet she's putting her own son security in our hands.

Our interactions with Belegar definitely left me very inclined towards becoming his subordinate. He was a good and smart person making a brighter future, and he had so many obstacles in his way, and I liked the idea of helping him through those obstacles.

And through our interactions with Heidi, I don't get that feeling. I like her but there's an ambiguity of motive there that separates her and Mathilde, and so I am not going to give Bodyguard my vote, on top of the other reasons. I don't think it is horribly unfair to be careful about who you lend your considerable power and influence to, because sometimes you do have the luxury of knowing them before becoming their agent.

I mean, I'm fine working with them to communicate "Belegar is the best, you should be more like him, boy you sure are in Belegar's debt right now for lending you his wizard." More than fine; T-posing on inferior kings so that Belegar's star rises higher in the Karaz Ankor is a major selling point of the job!

Changing my vote since I'm far less interested in coming back to Silvania than in Waystones.

[x] The Waystone Project
[x] Bodyguard and Tutor to Prince Mandred

I hope Bodyguard gets more votes though since it's the one I really want.
Sadly, too many people who want the Bodyguard job are also voting for Loremaster which has more votes.

Bodyguard can't win unless people update their existing votes, which is sad because it's by far the best non-stirland option.

...not that I disagree with you, but if you like being a Loremaster to Belegar, why aren't you voting for [ ] Loremaster-at-Large of Karak Eight Peaks?
A fair question.
1. We can always return. The way we"ve done our job so far, we can be absent for 30 years, and return and Belegar would still have a job for us. Loremaster or otherwise.

This represents the 'comfort zone' option to me. And although k8 peak still have a shitload of enemies, for now its in good hands.
And perhaps its my mid age 'get out of your comfort zone' projecting.

2. Nuln intriqued me. In comparison to the others (beside swamp town), this seems to be the job with the LEAST responsibility. But its not, as so far the man seems competent but as hes having rat problem... whats the biggest problem.
3. We can do this in perhaps the same amount or lesser time then k8p.
4. My second option is bodyguarding future emperor, for Heidi and Ranald. Mathilde and Heidi are.. not best of friends but she is byfar a fellow ranaldian. A Very Powerfull fellow ranaldian. Again as gods are real, it would be out of character for us NOT to help her and Ranald.
Marhilde's greatest allies since childhood is her master and god. Her piety is next highest then her learning.

5. Third option is K8P, perhaps im affraid that we've become to settled to it. Again.. feel free to disagree. ;)

The one question I have is what benefits would choosing Markgraf give us that we can't get from most of the other options. It seems like people are choosing it just because it's familiar. Choosing Bodyguard literally lets us do vampire hunting, Nuln rat hunting, interacting with all other provinces and the dwarves holds while getting us Giant favors and contacts to call in when we get back to researching the Waystones.

it seems to me to be the perfect choice since we are being told to go out and do most of all the other options at some point to gain the royal family loyalty and rep for the prince.

Margrave(because I refuse to call it edgelord) is ranked just under EC, and that comes with a lot of power. Enough that we'd be the second most powerful person in Stirland again :p Hopping around troubleshooting problems has more variety, but it's also less gravitas and clout.

Also, some people may prefer to have more Roswita interactions than Heidi interactions.

I'd argue the vote that is literally continue the side quest of the Waystones and continue helping all dwarves is just as familiar if not more so than something we haven't done in multiple thousands of pages, but even then the only really new one in the running is bodyguard but in peoples hurry to strategy downvote Markgraf it's pushing that one down as well.

More power than being a representative of the royal family sent to solve their problem? I mean it's not like we would want to set up a permanent kingdom there anyway so I don't see why people would choose it over the Bodyguard position since even the arguement of having more resources or leeway is false.

Based on the Thread's Header there are 1,539 quest readers in the past month. I idly wonder if we'll manage to break 1000+ voters based on how this decision is engaging many readers to participate, and if it'll make a site record for most number of votes on a quest. Does anyone know what the overall record on SV is, @picklepikkl maybe?
