Long ago, I was considering if Valeana might like to become the Duchess of the Marches. After recent events, I'm very tempted to ask her if she is interested.

Honestly I half believe she's going to see it as Viserys punishing her.
It would mean having to deal with these kind of people. It's not exactly fulfilling work, even with a lot of latitude for how she can manage the place. Of course she can just repeatedly bludgeon them with "Am Dragonlord; Argument Invalid" but if you have to do that more than once...

You can threaten them once, second time you have to make good on it, or the threat looses its weight.

He was so far out of the way compared to everyone else that it would have been a waste of resources to send a Legion or the air force.

So... screwed over by geography I'd say.
Still, that makes him not really a traitor anymore than the others that surrendered now.
And surrender he did, if only after his capture because he had no time to do so before.

There's the small wrinkle that Liomond let the girl steal his sword, so we have the pick between hanging Roxton as a traitor or having to hang someone, most likely the girl, for the theft.

So.... 🤷‍♂️

Girl? What girl? As can be seen in their report the Infiltration team found Lord Roxton a bed with a whore morning the loss of his ancestral weapon. Any ravings to the contrary on the lords part can be put down to simple grief over losing such a prized family heirloom...

This runs counter to my policy of not leaving people alive who have legitimate grudges against us.

At most, I'd be willing to have him take the black, but even that is stretching things.

As I said earlier, our emmisaries this night have vast space for decisionmaking.
If Liomond as the person at the scene thought the sword was a reasonable compensation for the girl, then we can support that judgement in hindsight.

Who said anything about him being alive? You can take his statement then send him to the ass end of nowhere or kill him off the books, same difference to me.

@Annatar Unnecessary extrajudicial killings are sloppy. The pretext for offing folks is the invasion. Doing it afterwards raises some unwanted probes about whether or not we are going to be having some more 'accidents'.

If we come in and hang a couple dozen lords and knights after the invasion, though, that's just business as usual. Everyone understands the ancient art of setting an example.
