So a random thought, but... don't most dwarves only live till about two hundred or so? Because it occurs to me that if Vlag's timestream stayed constant with reality, or was even sped up... there might not be any dwarves who have actually lived outside the hell mountain anymore. Who have ever not been in constant and direct war with daemons. And that... that makes me really sad. But also happy, because they actually get that chance now.

Come on guys we have already surpassed the Light trio, let´s push forward Borek, the combes, and Uzkulak so that we can have both side missions and the Trio of Dwarf Leaders...

Imagine the unique opportunities that we can get from there, the intel, the books, the research, the smutt

I think it's that most fail to reach Living Ancestor, at 400. Being above 200 is more like getting above 50 for humans, I think?

(Except Dwarfs, if anything, seem to get tougher as they get older, rather than the reverse)
Not sure if that is because of age or just the statistics of the harsh world they live in. We certainly have many examples of far older dwarfs. Not that I would expect these dwarfs would be living longer on average.

Far as I'm aware, Dwarfs do die of, if not old age, then at least the Dwarf equivalent, though I think it involves less physical issues and more... a sort of loss of spirit?

Though it's not guaranteed- Kragg's the oldest Dwarf alive off of pure spite.

They die from the stress of unfulfilled grudges.

I'm not a fan of having off-site components to the quest in general, and there were problems with this one specifically. A non-binding external poll seems like it would self-select for those most invested in going there, and the way you've framed it makes 'I want to go to Uzkulak but I don't want to buy food there' require self-defeating honesty to vote for.

That's fair and makes sense, my bad. Sorry about that.

Removing the Uzkulak vote. Hopefully, both Borek and Ruprecht get into this vote, rather than one bumping off the other.

I've decided against Uzkulak (and the Combes) for various reasons. One amongst them being the desire to not risk/borrow more potential trouble... on the way to Karag Dum. Maybe we visit it on the way back. Maybe we don't, because we're too busy or too hurried.

Either way, I don't want to go there just to indulge in curiosity and greed (for information and theft of books or information or whatever) and desire for more stuff. I'd prefer to prioritize the mission, rather than take an afternoon off to spin the lottery and see if we get any more shinies or wins. It's being responsible and prioritizing. Yes, it might mean potentially not getting something juicy, but that's the price you pay for being more focused on your mission and the people near you, rather than being focused on what you could win via gambling.

If you want to use the argument of "But you could get information on the lay of the land ahead of the expedition, and see if there are any forces being marshalled!" then pick the "Scout ahead with the Knights of Taal's Fury" option. How much information do you really expect to get from going into the Combes or Uzkulak?

[X] Ranging far ahead of the convoy

In fact, I'll go ahead and throw in a vote for one of these underdog options. Don't expect it to win -- and kind of want to see the internal social stuff of the Expedition instead -- but hey. More experience and familiarity with the Knights of Taal's Fury would not be terrible.

I agree with this logic and, in fact, will put my money where my mouth is and toss it a vote as well.

Consider that there's still the Tzeentchians unaccounted for and that the advance scouts are the Knights of Taal's Fury, who are a cadre of wilderness knights who fight Chaos. If anyone's going to pick up the trail of the Tzeentchian daemons, it'll be them; if you want a sidequest adventure that helps the expedition, let's deal with the ramifications that we know are still out there instead of rolling plot gachas in other places.

I dislike that thought process once we have managed to recover Karak Vlag

How much information do you really expect to get from going into the Combes or Uzkulak?

A lot, AFAWK they are the biggest enemy fortesses on the way to Karag Dum
