Alright... So the original plan had been to finish the update tonight, but between how the heavy snowfall made driving home from work take nearly twice as long as usual, and getting distracted by someone showing me all the Trailers Disney put out a few days ago...

I did not.

Good news is that the update is right at 1k words, and I am right at the start of the fight. So that shouldn't take me too long tomorrow morning, I feel that I am getting better and better at writing the fight scenes.

While after the day I had I admit to having been looking forward to seeing the update, I suspect I will be about as much/equally looking forward to it after the morning I anticipate having tomorrow, so it should be a wash.

Good to know it's on the way!

Another 'Hint' which wasn't really a hint, but whatever.

Major Media companies where using Digital photography by 92, so there really wouldn't have been a need for a dark room.

I learned that while doing research for the update.
Eh; it is worth noting that film photography was still used by (some) professional photographers until recently because while digital is cheaper (in the long run) and easier it actually took a long time to reach the same image quality. So it wouldn't be unreasonable for a company distributing posters and other large sized prints to still be using film for their base images.

Cinderella Caravan Part 6: Drella and Cindrellon
[X] Dark Room
With something of a lead, the girls begin to follow the blank faced man, watching as he continues through the halls, completely and totally unaware of his followers. Finally, after minutes of following the stranger, the three girls find themselves standing before the elevators, and far more usefully, a floor map of the building.

Not an actual map, but something that marks out what is set on each of the different floor.

As both Makoto and Usagi start to look over the different floors, Ami stops, staring at the floor list for a moment. Pausing, the girl tilts her head, looking up and slowly blinking as she counts something in her head. "How tall is this building?" The girl asks, a question that brings everyone pause.

Usagi and Makoto look to each other, then to Ami. "I... don't know?" Usagi more asks than states, trying to figure out what Ami is getting at.

"I counted seven floors when Jupiter leapt up." Ami says, a statement that makes Sailor Jupiter's eyes go wide, the taller girl's eye tracking down to gloved hands for a moment, before she shakes her head, putting the thought out of mind.

"So?" Moon asks, unaware of the sudden thought that appeared in Jupiter's head.

"Counting this floor, there are eight floors." Mercury points out, a statement which causes both of her allies to turn back, taking a moment to count the floors themselves.

"That can't be right?" Usagi asks, "You can't just add a floor out of nowhere... Can you?"

Ami nods. "I read about it the other night on the Mercury Super Computer," The girl says, "There are enchantments both to increase the size of a space... Particularly making things larger on the inside than the outside - There was a bit of a fashion back in Mercury's heyday to wear as little as possible while carrying as much as possible."

"That's... weird." Usagi says, successfully managing to take the thoughts that statement generates and pushing them back into the little box in the back of her mind for later perusal. A habit that the girl has developed ever since finding herself surrounded by so many cuties, and a habit that the remnant of Serenity deeply appreciates. However, from the way that Jupiter's face goes a little red - Something unnoticed by both of the other girls, Makoto has not developed this skill yet.

"Of course, then there was the more complicated but better defended methods of either creating a..." Ami trails off, one hand cradling her chin for a moment as she tries to think of the best way to explain the other spells. "The first is to essentially teleport into a 'Shadow Space', which from what little my research was able to turn up is some kind of cognitive replica of the surrounding space."

"A what?" Usagi asks, trying and failing to keep up.

"It is a space based on what you see around you - The text doesn't explain how they exist or why, just that they do." Ami explains a little further, hoping that that manages to answer Usagi's major question.

"So... It's a copy of a space made from what people see and feel and hear and taste in a place?" Usagi asks, thinking that she might understand.

"Exactly." Ami confirms, "The other is a far more complicated magical effect, literally crafting a new small dimension to put things in. I'm not sure which of the potential options the Dark Kingdom did... but if I were to make a guess, it would probably be the second." Then the girl grins, "However that still leaves the question of where the Youma is hiding, and I have a pretty solid idea on that as well." Ami says, as she points to the Line with the words 'Dark Room' on it. "The Yotsuba Conglomerate switched entirely to Digital recording and cameras three years ago." Ami says, "There is no reason for any Yotsuba based Idol Company to use Film based cameras, which means no Dark Room."

"Well then," Makoto says with grin, punching her palm. There is an echoing BOOM as the force blows her clothes around in the wind she created. There is a moment of silence, as all three look down at Makoto's hands, the girl's face turning bright red. "Uhh... I guess I don't know my own strength?" The girl shakes her head, pushing her worries about her increased strength to the back of her head. Coughing twice in embarrassment, "Anyways. We have a goal, right? Then let's go and help those people!"

"Yeah!" Usagi cheers, hitting the button to call the elevator.

...

...The girl looks up, watching as the Elevator slowly stops on each and every floor, from the very first floor where it started, then the second, the third, the fourth, the fifth, the fourth?, the sixth, and finally the Seventh. With an understated Ding, the Elevator doors open, and the three girls hurry into the box.

Looking at the different floor buttons, Ami can't help but snort. The panel has been haphazardly removed and replaced with a layer of cardboard with holes cut out to allow access to the buttons. Then, there to the side is another button, one of an entirely different make with the letters DK on it instead of a number. The button is held to the wall with... Ducttape, rolled over on itself into a loop with all the stickiness on the outside. Crudely covered wires extend from the button before sliding under the cardboard panel.

Shaking her head, Ami watches as Usagi hits the button. Unfortunately, hitting the button also makes the lights for all the floors above the third light up as well. The door slowly slides shut, before beginning to descend.

Where it stops at the sixth floor.

Then the fifth floor.

Then the fourth floor.

But then, after closing on the fourth floor, the box doesn't seem to move, yet all three of the girls can feel the magic rolling over them, a feeling that makes Makoto lurch for a moment in confusion. "What?" The girl asks, trying to figure out what the strange sensation of moving-yet-not was.

Usagi looks back to Makoto, a slightly worried and concerned look on her face, "Are you alright?" She asks, worried.

"Did you not... Feel that?" Jupiter asks, looking to the two. The question hangs in the air for a moment, before Ami perks up.

"Oh, Sorry, you've not run into magical fields yet." The girl apologizes, "I've gotten so used to encountering them that I don't even really notice anymore."

"Same here," Usagi admits with a nod.

Makoto looks between the two, before sighing. "This is something I'm going to have to get used to, aren't I?"

"'Fraid so," Usagi says, with a massive grin, as the door behind her slowly slides open.

On the other side of the doors is... what looks to be a regular office space. "Is... this the right floor?" Usagi asks, as the three exit into the hall. However, it only takes a few minutes before they begin to notice what exactly is amiss.

There is only a single door, to the left and the right the halls trail off into... Well, it almost looks like darkness, but if darkness was solid. Like solid... Nothing.

But with the halls ending only a few feet in both directions, that leaves the girls only a single option. Another thing that they notice now that they are looking at the door is the fact that it isn't the kind of door that one would expect from an Office, but instead a rice paper shoji door. The door slides open almost silently, opening into...

The courtyard of an old fashioned Japanese manor. The air is hot and wet, like the depths of summer, and all around the sounds of summer cicadas chirp and sing. More noticeably, it is all of a sudden the middle of the night, with a full moon in the middle of the sky.

"How..." Usagi asks, looking around. "This is..."

"Not real." Ami cuts in, before backpedaling a little. "It is real, but it's not real." She clarifies in the least descriptive way possible.

"The girl isn't wrong," the voice of the Mikan says, as the girl steps out from behind the large tree in the center of the courtyard.

"No, she isn't." A second voice says, drawing the girl's eyes up into the tree, where a strange dark colored figure lounges. "It's a pity that you are here now. The boss has been wanting to meet you, instead he's gone to check up on those idiot bodybuilders and that stupid gym of theirs instead."

"You are Sailor Moon, right?" Mikan asks, one eye glinting dangerously, even as the other eye goes dulll and empty.

"I am." Sailor Moon confirms, "But you aren't Mikan Shiratori, are you?"

The girl laughs, her voice shifting from the idol's warm tones, to sound almost like crystal wind chimes. "No." That is very much not idol's voice. "Drella, and this is my sister Cendrillon."

"Still," Cendrillon says, dropping down from the tree, revealing a dark skinned young woman with long hair that covers one eye, the other a bright bloody red. "This is even better, isn't it sister. Imagine the look on Jadeite's face when he bring him Moon's head."

"Oh, yes~" The other practically moans out, "He won't have cause to ignore us anymore." As the two speak, their forms begin to shift. The fake Mikan's skin rips like wrapping paper as massive glass growths burst from her arms, forming into shimmering pink claws. Across from the fake idol, the same happens to the dark skinned girl, only the glass is blue, darkening to black near the claws.

Then, with a sound like shattering glass, each girl's back explode out into a pair of massive glass wings, even as horns of glass grow from their heads. The pink claws reach up, grabbing hold of Mikan's face, tearing it away to reveal a face and a figure not unlike Cendrillon's.

Then, with a twitch of their wings, glass shards fire out before them, each one hitting the ground with a heavy crack before they begin to grow upwards...

Forming into familiar faces only craft out of glass.

There... in front of them are six glass sculptures of the Senshi - Two of each Sailors Moon, Mercury, and Jupiter.

"Why don't you be good girls, and just bow your heads" Drella says with a toothy smile, "Let us take a little off the top and save yourself a lot of trouble and pain in the long run."
MOON - Stop Hitting Yourself? No! - 3 + 18 = 21
MERCURY - No sight for you - 10 + 13 = 23
JUPITER - Supreme Thunder! - 6 + 36 = 42
DRELLA - Stop moving! - 5 + 20 (-2) = 23
CENDRILLON - Two already? No! - 1 + 20 (-2) = 19
MINOR YOUMA - Rolls + (15*n) / (n*(.25*n))= (1+6+2+6+1+9) + (15*6) / (6*1.5) = 25 + 115 / 9 = 15
[M.YOUMA TWO CRITICAL FAILURES]
Instead of an answer, Sailor Moon leaps forward, her entire body spinning around to give a massive kick that shatters one of her replicas straight out, shards of glass scattering across the ground like tiny caltrops.

"Sabão Spray!" Mercury cries out, leaping back as the heavy mist gathers in her hands, before exploding out and covering the field in a heavy white fog.

Jupiter takes a deep breath, her hands lock together with a boom that blows the mist back a step around her, as her eyes close and the girl draws on the magic inside of her. Static begins to crawl across the girl's skin, before she takes a step forward, throwing a fist forward with a cry of 'SUPREME! THUNDER!" All of the lightning and electricity dances across her body, traveling up to the moving fist before exploding forward as a heavy bolt of lightning that slams into one of her own replicas.

Barreling out of the mist, one of Mercury's copies appears, a fist that ends in a blade of glass heading towards the girl's head, but Makoto has experience with things like this and dodges with ease, one hand lightly closing around the replica's fist, flipping her over and through the air, using the creature's momentum to move her. "Huh." Makoto wonders aloud, "You know, I thought this would be scarier."

There is a tinkling crack of glass on glass, and the girl realizes that entirely without meaning to, she has thrown one of the creatures into another.

On the other side of the room, Sailor Moon can't help but laugh as she dodges back from the Mercury Replica trying to pull itself out of the shattered remnants of its ally. "That's two dow-Ack!" The laugh is cut short when something arcs out of the mist, and heavy strands of sticky... liquid glass splashes against her side. The hit doesn't hurt, but it is strong enough to knock the girl's arm around her side, where the glass suddenly solidifies, and Sailor Moon finds herself with the use of one arm.
MOON - This... is a problem - 8 + 18 (-2) = 19
MERCURY - T-3 to Launch - 5 + 15 = 20
JUPITER - Is this supposed to be a problem? - 2 + 35 = 37
DRELLA - Was that just a Dolphin? - 7 + 20 (-2) =25
CENDRILLON - You're not bad at this, I will admit - 2 + 20 (-2) = 20
MINOR YOUMA - Rolls + (15*n) / (n*(.25*n)) =(5+4+10+5+7) + (15*5) / (5*1.25) = 31 + 75 / 6.25 = 16
[M.YOUMA ONE CRITICAL SUCCESS]
Unfortunately, due to the massive weight of the glass suddenly on Usagi and the way that she can't use her arm, the girl finds herself completely off balance, stumbling and falling to the ground. The confusing weight and heft keep the girl from getting to feet quite as quickly as she needed to however, leaving her wide open for the Mercury replica's attack. the bladed punch stabbing hard into the Senshi's shoulder. Usagi cries out, a heavy kick knocking the demon back.

On the far side of the Courtyard, Makoto moves around the attacking Replicas with ease - Knocking the feet out from under an Usagi here, tipping over a Makoto there, dodging the attacks of the other Makoto there, dodging yet... another, third Makoto.

Where did the third Makoto replica come from? Did one of the Youma create another one? There isn't time for that, not when Makoto hears the scream of pain coming with Usagi. She punches forward, cracking two of her replicas's heads together, before dodging around the third. However, she can't so easily dodge around the attack of the darker glass demon. Drawing back, the girl leaps up and over, away from the weaker opponents, all the while being followed by her stronger enemy.

Mercury has been watching the battle through her visor, keeping track of each of her friends while she start to put together something of a plan in order to be able to defeat as many of the demons as possible as fast as possible. But that has to take a back seat when the pale pink glass demon begins to gather power in its hands, as it aims towards Usagi. "Not on my watch!" The girl bellows, gathering magic in one hand, before she lobs it underhand, summoning forth a whirling disk of water that shoots out across the ground.

Drella laughs, the glowing power in her hand shifting form to become a massive glass trident that glows with an inner darkness. Drawing the weapon back, the demon starts to throw her attack, but the moment before the attack leaves her hand - Mercury's new spell strikes! The swirling disk of water explodes, as a shimmering dolphin leaps into the air, slamming into the demon and throwing her into the air.
TUXEDO - WHERE IS MY GODDAMNED SWORD - 8 + 21 = 29
DRELLA - 1 + 20 (-2) = 19
CENDRILLON - 8 + 20 (-2) = 26
MINOR YOUMA - Rolls + (15*n) / (n*(.25*n)) = (3+6+4+1+8) + (15*5) / (5*1.25) = 22 + 75 / 6.25 = 15
[TUXEDO CRITICAL VS DRELLA]
[M.YOUMA ONE CRITICAL FAILURE]
The trident goes spinning through the air, when there is a blur, and across the courtyard, Tuxedo Mask lands, casually spinning the Trident in hand. "Greetings, Drella." Tuxedo Mask says, her voice almost a growl.

"My Trident!" The demon growls, her wings flaring out. "Give that back!"

"My sword." Was the flat response, as Tuxedo Mask points the weapon back at it's owner. "Return it to me, and I will... think about returning your weapon to you."

"You again!" Cendrillon growls out, "First you interrupt my mission, and now you find us here!"

The dark cloaked figure looks over t the darker glass demon, and even with the mask covering his face, the sheer disinterest in his gaze is overwhelming. "...Who are you?"

The demon gives a sharp "Ack!" Before she pointed at the man, "GET HIM!"

The replica Senshi back off from the surprised true Senshi, before rushing towards the Masked figure. With ease, the man spins the stolen weapon about, easily managing to swat away each of the encroaching glass warriors, even spearing two to shatter them to dust.

"So." Tuxedo mask growls out. "My blade. Where is it."

"HA!" Drella laughs, "That silly little rose blade? I gave it to Master Jadeite. He seemed quite interested in your weapon, I thought it would go well on hi-" The glass demon's words come to a sudden halt, as Tuxedo Mask fulfills his half of the agreement. The Trident slamming into the demon with force enough to shatter her into a thousand shimmering pieces.

"SISTER!" Cendrillon bellows, turning to find... Tuxedo Mask is once more gone.

"Apologizes, Lady Senshi. I did not mean to interrupt your own discussion with the demon sisters, but I have to go and find my sword."
MOON - Wait a second. Glass... HAHAHA - 3 + 20 = 23 * 2 = 46
MERCURY- 4 + 15 = 19
JUPITER - - 7 + 35 =42
CENDRILLON - 7 + 20 (-2) = 25
MINOR YOUMA - Rolls + (15*n) / (n*(.25*n)) = (1+5+3+9) +(15*4) / (4*(.25*4)) = 18 + 60 / 4 = 19 / 2= 9
[M.YOUMA ONE CRITICAL FAILURE]
[CENDRILLON RETREATS]
[USAGI GREATER CRITICAL SUCCEEDS]
Usagi stumbles back, struggling to fight against the magical glass holding one of her arms down. The pain in her other shoulder keeping her from using her right arm.

The girl grits her teeth, looking down at the glass... If only she was able to get rid of it, then she'd be able to at the very least manage to use her healing magic on herself. But the glass is holding her down, and without a hand to shatter...

Shatter.

The thing holding her down is glass. The monsters fighting her are glass. The demon that Tuxedo Mask managed to destroy was made of glass.

The memory of her first fight slips across the blonde's mind, reminding her of how the sonic spell effected all the glass in Naru's shop.

Taking a deep breath, the girl unleashes a powerful scream that echoes across the courtyard, which shatters the glass holding her arm down. After taking a moment to shake the worst of the glass off, the girl carefully brings her hand to the injury on her shoulder, imbuing her injury with her healing magics.

"What was... Sonic attacks. No." Cendrillon hisses out, suddenly sprinting across the courtyard as she drops down to her knees, grabbing hold of as many pieces of her sister as she can, before soaring up into the air towards the shining full moon.

"What is she...?" Makoto asks, before Usagi screams again, the blast shattering more of the replicas. The glass demons rests against the fake moon, which glimmers like a mirror, then is a shimmering shine, and the Demon is gone.

Once the replica's creator is gone, the demons suddenly come to a stop with the sound of glass against glass. They are now, no more than glass statues of the Senshi.

Upon leaving the strange midnight summer room, things take a turn for the far more... odd.

If trap better to spring it. If not trap might get allies. That is all

I don't entirely disagree with the desire to get a possible ally out of this, but I have to register my disagreement with the strategy of "Run Into Every Trap You Know About Or Suspect". Unless your foreknowledge will allow you to prepare specifically to neutralize the trap or put you in a more advantageous position, traps are supposed to be avoided.

Don't see why not.

Looks like we'll be seeing the glass sisters again some day(in some form), we may want to spring for the total area Sonic attack before then, just in case. Those 2 won't want to go anywhere near Sailor Moon.

Well, developing that sonic blast spell was definitely time well spent!

True. On the other hand, this has the air of not being an active powerful enemy, and we have reason to think Jadeite is elsewhere at the moment so there's no one in the building likely to be much more of a threat than the youma we just fought.

If this is a trap we're fairly well equipped to blast out of it in this particular case. Furthermore, it can't be a very well prepared trap, because (as others have noted) we ourselves didn't know we were coming here until recently, and we weren't fighting the youma for that long.

Looks like we'll be seeing the glass sisters again some day(in some form), we may want to spring for the total area Sonic attack before then, just in case. Those 2 won't want to go anywhere near Sailor Moon.
The problem with the AoE version is that it's going to start hitting allies...

Actually, should we do something about the evil dark floor?
Like, collapse it or something?
I don't think we should just leave.

So, looks like he foiled a plot and lost his rose sword in the process, which he REALLY wants to get back, which seems to put credence to our meetings being chance...

Well, we have very little knowledge on who we are dealing with....
So, well, arguments for both sides
