Actively searching and recruiting the remains of the Golden Court would have to wait since we will be busy trying to deal with whatever Westeros is going to throw at us for the next few months.

We could pass a rumor, though. That could help at least to make them less paranoid.
We can certainly try to contact them for a ceasefire. That said our options are fairly limited. I don't think a rumor would go all that well at the moment, though. We just shattered their court and killed their lord. Anyone sane would think it's a trap.

    [X] Adventure/Combat Reports:
-[X] Sarnori Pacification -- Continuation: The Void-touched Olethrodaemon that regulated much of the proceedings among the Undead of Sarnor may be gone now, but too much of its accursed legacy still lies in that land. Have your agents scour the lands, working with agents of the allied Sarnori Kingdoms, to end the Mindless Undead still in the area, and to, perhaps, seek out any Sentient Undead who hide still in the wake of the sound defeat of the corrupt hosts but two months ago.
----[X] Nettles & Sheepstealer (Level 12); 1x Adult Mind Dragon (CR 15), 1x Very Old Myrkdreki Dragon (CR 15), 11x Veteran Erynies, 11x Lejnths, 5x Verdant Phoenixes (CR 15), 50x Verdant Kingfishers, 10x Verdant Ravens (CR 6), 2x Wild Hunt Archers (CR 14), 2x Wild Hunt Scouts (CR 16), 8x Praetori Squads (Total of 72 Praetori and 8 Light Warstriders deployed.)
-[X] Operation Pest Control MK II: Send forces to the apparently shut entrance to the Underdark you found in Sothoryos. Have them scout the tunnel system, confirm that it is sealed, try to eliminate all pests within and finally retrieve the bodies of the slain mages for a Chain Resurrection. The expedition will be equipped with a set of Titan's Tools which they can use to more thoroughly seal any passages they locate, or for any other uses which may present themselves, along with a Wayfinder for navigation and investigation.
----[X] 1x Adult Mind Dragons (CR 15), 5x Necro Kraken with Greater Bloodclot Molds, 50x Black Knight with Mobility Upgrade, 200x Spitters, 1x Herald (CR 10) w/3x Elemental Wyrmlings (Fire) for support, 5x Guardian Nagas (CR 10), 4x Plant-Imbued Shadow Creature Cat (w/+4 Racial HD) (CR 6, 6 HD), 4x Mushroom Golems (CR 10), 5x Advanced Sorcerer Creature Snapdragon Leshy, 20x Watchmoles (CR 6), 20x Praetori Squad (180 Praetori total)
-[X] Quizzing the Quickling: The Quickling ganglord that escaped the Misfits in King's Landing is but the final tale to tie now, with some support from your other Minions, now.
----[X] the Misfits, Darkstar, Kennos, Thoros, Mors, Bonifer, Velen
-[X] The Hill Fey Chose to Die On: The location of the former main stronghold of the COurt of Stars is of interest to you as a future outpost into the Feywild. Protecting it from an opportunistic takeover by any locals is but good sense now.
----[X] 1x Wild Hunt Scout (CR 16), 2x Wild Hunt Archers (CR 14), 5x Heralds (CR 10), 10x Watchmoles (CR 6), 7x Vigilant Briars (CR 4), 100x Verdant Kingfishers, 10x Verdant Ravens, 50x Plant-Imbued Shadow Creature Cat (CR 6) 1x Verdant Phoenix (CR 15), 5x Advanced Sorcerer Creature Snapdragon Leshy (CR 10), 5x Guardian Nagas (CR 10), 10x Black Champions (CR 15), 200x Black Knights (Mobility Upgrade), 500x Spitter Swarms (buried around the location), 5x Praetori Squads (Total of 45 Praetori deployed).
-[X] Scouting the Neck: Send some people to investigate the situation in the Neck, which Fey there are and how they are aligned in the wider Fey politics. Take special note of any information relevant to the movement of large armies, such as a potential host from the North trying to march through the Neck to the Riverlands.

Part MMMDCLXXIII: Reports from the Reach
Reports from the Reach

Tenth Day of the Fourth Month 294 AC

The Doom of Faerie: Rumors are carried on a hot wind, ash and poison upon it. The Court of Stars, the guardians of Summer, have fallen in the plots of gods and men. So it is said to hedge witches and cunning men, so it it shared with those forethoughtful souls to lay down honey and milk for the fey. From the least hob to the proudest knight this tale is known to all, the names of the Gods who cast down this fel curse seared into the memory of those who endured, the Crimson Flame R'hllor beloved of the easterners, the Depths, the Ferryman, returned with a vengeance from his long exile to drown those who so bedeviled his children and the Old Gods, betrayers of old alliances gorged on blood.

The blood of demons flowed like black wine, like a tide of poison and the one who poured it, why his name is more feared among the lesser fey of the Reach than even the gods who struck the blow, the Dragon over the Sea, Him of Crimson Claws. While the new made Kings and Queens who endured the plot behind their mighty wards and the broken shards of the fallen seek shelter the smaller spirits can only brace against the fearful age to come.

As to the hedgewise, those mages who dealt often with the fey, those smallfolk who found their fortunes in the company of the Good Neighbors, they are more wary by far of joining the Scholarum than they had been before. The Imperial Times on its imperishable bespelled paper promised much that was hoped for, but the taste of the dragon's wrath, even at once removed, has made them wonder if they should embrace the Imperium to come as readily. Strange gods are fearful enough on their own, when those gods are blood-drunk by the king's hand whispers only grow.

Flowers of Wrath: The unrest in Florent lands erupted into violence three days ago as a crowd of the 'faithful' tried to burn the business of a tailor who had converted to the Lord of Light, due in no small part of wanting to retain his lord's patronage. The man was killed and one of his sons gravely injured in the blaze which almost burned out of control since many of those who should have been called up for bucket chains were instead in sympathy with the arsonists.

It was only the fortuitous arrival of otherwise fickle summer rain that saved much of the town from falling to the flames, a fact which Lord Florent did not forget, nor forgive. Eleven people were hanged for arson, treason and murder, including the septon who had helped spark the unrest. He was thankful that the local Inquisition presence had even lent him their investigative skills, enough to take their advice on what would and would not be seen as proportional response by his soon to be king. Still, spirits remain agitated and sermons about the evils of R'hllor worryingly common in Florent lands, with some even going to far as to call the people executed by Lord Florent martyrs as in the days of the Faith Militant. The inquisitor on the spot ends the report with 'one is thankful to the Lord of Light they are not so well armed'.

Smoother Sailing: Following the news of the destruction of the Court of Stars Lord Tybalt Blackbar has warmed considerably to your new envoys. Apparently the knowledge that his soon to be king is both willing and able to call down divine judgement on the wily fey courts is just the thing to make the man sleep easier at night. The letter from Horn Hill shares a similar tone, though colored by Randyll Tarly's more martial pursuits. He is curious if you will attempt to mobilize armsmen to garrison the Feywild. You make a note to have someone tactful explain planar mechanics to him. The last thing you need is another upset lord because someone in your service decided to be needlessly condescending.

Finest Wines: Horas Redwyne has pledged that he will wed Asha as soon as she is restored to rule of the Iron Isles and moreover his father writes that he will seal the marriage by investing heavily in the islanders' trade. In the words of Paxton Redwyne, 'If I can't make those bloody rocks green than I'll make their ships' holds golden'. The fact that he also stands to make a tidy profit from the Iron Isles' hopefully permanent turn towards trade is left unsaid.

***

Asha confirms the latter report with a confident nod and a beaming smile that makes you suspect she is thinking of rather more than just Redwyne wealth, but she also drops a small complication in your lap. She does not wish to speak her wedding vows before the Seven, rather she would dedicate the restored House Greyjoy to the Ferryman, 'a better patron for sailors, be they out for blood or gold' she calls him and to that you cannot disagree, but you doubt Lord Redwyne will be pleased with the announcement that he can look forward to heathen grandchildren, likely putting the investments at risk, if not the marriage itself.

What do you do?

[] Suggest to Asha that it would be best to let her heir choose gods as it suits them

[] Point out in a latter to Paxton that just as Asha herself is respectable far beyond the Greyjoy name so too is the Merling King

[] Do not interfere, some of your nobles are likely to consider you heavy handed indeed when it comes time to extend the reach of Imperial law, best take a lighter hand where you can

[] Write in

OOC: Overall a good set of rolls. The Florent situation could have gone very bad on a low roll.

Poor Yss feels left out, @DragonParadox. :V

This is so satisfying.

I mean if she's already spoken with Horas of this then fine. This is their business. As long as our vassals don't start worshiping eldritch gods or whatever it doesn't matter.

Oh, we're going to need our own PR offensive. I suggest straight-up telling everyone that the Court of Stars were planning to enchant everyone in the Reach.

But for real, it's a good thing the random Fey are afraid.
They'll not act brashly against us while they are afraid, we get time to consolidate the lands and establish the systems that'd hold them in check later, while they are.

And eventually, we can spread the propaganda about us welcoming the Fey into our service
Just gotta not act too aggressive between now and then, to sell it better.

Local "mages" being afraid...
Eh, can't give less of a shit.
We're building all the proper institutions.
Whoever doesn't join Scholarum or tried to scheme against us gets purged in accordance with the letter of the law.

Just because we have the strength to crush them doesn't mean we want to spent time and effort on it when it could instead be going smoothly. Things will already be difficult due to religious divides (remember, the current Westerosi "equivalent" to the Scholarum is explicitly religious).

Somewhat concerning. Not that it really matters. If they want to practice magic then they need to be a part of the organization. Lest they have the Inquisition coming after them.

Edit: Though a propaganda offensive on the Court of Stars would be a good idea. If words can avoid knives in the dark then it is a good thing.

Unsanctioned mages will be subject to extreme litigation if practicing trade without proper documentation.

Worse if they're performing research.

Actually it would be best to start out with some counter rumours as their less then likely to believe things we say because it's us who are saying it, better to have our agents lay the ground work first by having trusted members of the community spreading tales they've head about how the CoS had trick the lords into a ritual that would enslave them all rather just hope people will believe us right off the bat.

Here's an edited version of the chapter, DP.

It's unfortunate that our attack on the CoS has made so many potential Scholarium mages wary of joining, but also understandable. After all, few people knew of the CoS' plans, and most folks in Westeros who had dealings with the Fey either dealt with other Courts or were not important enough to date interaction with anything but the most minor and benign Fey.

@Goldfish With our establishing Mirror Vision networks across Westeros, and most of it not speaking the more common Valyrian used in national broadcasts, could we apply the Allspeak enchantments used in the presses in conjunction with the auditory enchantments on the Mirrors?

That way it's perfectly understandable regardless of what media is playing through them.

You could even have a minor illusion enchantment to make lip-syncing happen!
