Given bronze age population densities, that would be a huge area with multiple keeps and hub areas.
I'd be surprised if the fey cared about historical accuracy any more than the average GoT producer beyond the minimum needed to trick Renly. They could just be using some absurd mess that he doesn't know enough to question.

Or we could loot it for our own afterlife...
Too exposed for that in my opinion. I'm all in favor of looting it, but sending souls there just seems like asking for trouble.

Regardless of all else, this is a bunch of souls we can't reasonably move without some major bullshit.
Like, "another 1000 Demons sacrificed to a God"-major, major.
Depending on which age they correspond to and whether we even have the Gods they would normally go to, I don't think we could just send them all off from this little stabilized hellhole.

From the sound of it, the place is not entirely Renly-centric, however.
Fey may have shaped a lot of it, but doubtfully all of it.

Which means, it isn't likely to go straight to shit once we redpill the T!Renly.
Worst case, Kaiju-Fey and slow tearing of the place.
Best case, we can make some Forge-creatures to defend the place while we sloooowly prepare to evacuate the souls to a better place (literally any, sans Lower Planes. And Heaven. And elemental Planes. Hmmm), or whatever.

I think the souls are part of what stabilizes this place. They are thinking beings, even if they are dead, so they can exert the mental influence necessary to shape Limbo. The Fey likely just gathered the dead souls, crammed them into a small village they prepared, and then slowly grew the place outwards from that seed.

Anyway. While I don't see this as part of an afterlife, we could still claim this place and use it as a research base to further our efforts to create an afterlife. Also a nice planar outpost far away from hostile polities. No Efreeti or Devils to worry about in Limbo and even the Demons keep mostly away.

[X] See if you can find what anchors this place first, how so many petitioners haven't scattered, faded or been enslaved or devoured over the years. Ideally you want to present some evidence this realm is not real that someone not schooled in the arcane would be able to believe, and you also get the feeling Renly, believing this place real or not, knows the people are, and won't abandon them. Not that you're keen on doing that out of hand, either, if you can figure out a way to bring them away to some divine realm to shelter, or else ensure it'll remain safe with or without his presence.

We need more information before we can determine how best to break this charade. We also need to know more about this place in general before we accidentally bring it to a crashing halt and spill tens of thousands of defenseless would into Limbo, or worse.

[X] Plan Recon
-[X] Before we attempt to broach the subject of his true identity or purpose here, we will first locate Renly and observe him and his companions, using all means at our disposal, including Divinations, Scrying, and mind reading. We will, of course, take all necessary precautions to remain undiscovered.
-[X] We will also attempt to learn more about this unusual pocket of Limbo, how it remains stable, and whether or not revealing Renly's true identity might trigger hidden contingencies placed by Nairos' faction. It could also be useful if we can learn how such a large number of Petitioners were gathered, protected, and kept from scattering or fading.

If we want to be really blunt about it we could just convince him to let us use mind magic to demonstrate how easy it would be to convince him of things. :V

I doubt he'd be too convinced about anything being real after 20+ rounds of Solipsism.

Or we do it the ethical way and use perinarch to manipulate this place in ways that are obviously impossible.

In a random note:

Does anybody remember what happened with that Tree-Ship th Yi-Ti expedition found on the way there? I can't remember what happened with it.

Hm.
I wonder if Gith would be interested in moving their Fortresses (or some, at least) to here instead.
'Naturally' stabilized piece of reality in Limbo means no need to waste as much effort on stabilizing their own stuff.
Would kinda draw a load of attention to the place, of course. The illithid kind.

That is a very good idea if we cannot make use of it ourselves. Such a large pocket of Limbo could basically be a new Githzerai homeland if it remains stable after we're done here.

If it is indeed not the inhabitants doing the stabilizing themselves, this would be an incredible game changer for the Githzerai. They could make a real difference in Elysium and elsewhere that way, though it would likely take some time and debate if they want to abandon the strongholds they built and kept together for so long for somewhere new.

It would be a longterm advantage but a disadvantage in the short term. I imagine they could get this place up to snuff eventually though, and if it self-propagates...

[X] Goldfish

I added the reinforcements we've sent to the other group to the turnvote btw.
----[X] Zherys, Vee, Maelor, Amrelath, Mereth, Aife, 2x Vigilant Hunters, 12x Erynies, Lamora (Shadow Creature Vela Sorceress 6/ Arcane Savant 2), Veny (Erinat Gremlin Rogue 5), Cyril (Frost Giant Fighter 5)
-----[X] Reinforcements from the Violet Court's group (moved to support on the 8th of the month).
The chaff in the Mask-hunting group, and that included Praetorians, might just find themselves extremely die-able if the show of this (far smaller iirc?) group was anything to judge by.

The group would still have a fair few super-heavy hitters though, and Wild Hunt halping beyond even the few Fey we traded with them for.

Vee, Zherys, Amrelath and Mereth are super killy in different ways. So yeah, that group is in good hands.
