I'm mostly wondering whether we're going to get any deserters. The location we're heading to is intimidating as hell, and our force is small enough that we would actually notice deserters.
It's an all-volunteer force. Yes, it's the Chaos Wastes, but I'm not worried on that front. Everyone knew what they were getting themselves into.

For those who think that not taking knights and/or Asarnil means they will get a seat on the council and will be better heard - that's by no means guaranteed. They may be folded under a different councilor - say, head ranger, or, even if they are given a seat on the council, not listened to that much. After all, they are neither dawi nor dwarven councilors. I genuinly think not taking command of them may lead to them being mismanaged. Admittedly, the names of the steamwagons are a good sign, but still.

Time and time again, despite our best efforts Mathilde has been thrust into military command positions. I thing it is high time we stop fighting it and start embracing it.

The knights are Imperials, veterans of the K8P expedition with gromril swords proving it, and Ulrikadrin is a formal ally to K8P to boot.

Even if one were to ignore that Belegar is one of the sponsors of expedition, there is no question whether the knights will have a place at the council, dwarf honor demands it.

As for Asarnil, on one hand, there is some enmity to be sure.
On the other, he's a dragonlord aiding them on an expedition into hell.

I can't see the desperate and radical dwarf leadership jeopardizing their chances of success like that.

Thanks for update, BoneyM!

[X] Lead only the Wizards

Who would desert though?

Dwarfs, pretty much out of the question.
Wizards, they volunteered... i don't see it.
Knights? With how hardcore both orders are?
Asarnil?

I mostly agree, with one real exception: wizards. They volunteered indeed, but some of them, probably, did it without full and proper understanding, just how bad Chaos Wastes might be... And there also a bunch of Dhar in equation, shouldn't forget about it. Oh, and some wizard (and no, I don't pointing at our dear Egrimm at all, honest!* :D) likely to have their own agenda there.

* While it is kind of a joke, I bet at least one wizard besides him have a goal they didn't tell us about.

Why do people seem to think we need to represent Asarnil on the council to get his help with the side quest?
Thats not what I'm saying. I'm replying to someone claiming we'd be too busy with the side quest to represent Asarnil, so I pointed out that Asarnil could easily be a part of the side quest.

But the real reason to represent Asarnil is politics, and not presenting Borek with someone at council that will make him less inclined to agree with us.
