Narratively this feels like the bit where the hero is overconfident and nearly loses everything.

According to normal tropes? Yeah.

According to Xianxia tropes? No. Although Yrs seems to have done a good job justifying or defying those, the one he has barely touched at all is the "you need to be a risk taker who gambles with their life on the reg just for gains to become stronk". And his tinkering was more about taking measured gambles and including people who want to help, rather than anything changing the spirit of this trope.

[x] Steal the power source and make your exit. Then return with the full party, and eliminate the corpse immortal with overwhelming force.

This is pretty much just a pity vote tbh lol

I'm 100% down for LOOT
Same.

Cai Renxiang: "And why did you chose to destroy the Corpse-Immortal rather than call for reinforcements?"

Meng Dan: *Starts laughing*

Gan Guangli: *Looks amused at both of them*

Xia Lin: *Sheepishly keeps her head bowed, avoiding eye contact*

Ling Qi wearing a new silvery storage ring: "Honor."

It sounds to me to have seen a post with the primary, secondary and tertiary elements of Ling Qi, but now I cannot find it ... I imagined it or am I just useless to find it?

nah you didn't imagined it
Hmm... Our elemental spread remains interesting...

Dark x14
Music x12
Wind x10
Moon x6
Cold x5
Water x5
Dream x2
Lake x2
Fire x1
Wood x1

Ling Qi has learned from the mistakes of the past and now has a tight focus on just six elements!

[X] Eliminate the corpse-immortal now, together you and Xia Lin should be more than its match.

Is the rot that a corpse immortal gives of similar or identical to the impurities that cultivators expel?
Also the word immortal is so abused in this world.

The mildly-long-lived-corpse I guess is not quite as ostentatious.

Reminds me of this snip.
"Anything not nailed down is mine. Anything I can pry loose is not nailed down." That appears to be Ling Qi's approach to espionage.
Lind Qi: "Luckily only the walls were nailed down."

In the sense that they don't live forever, yeah; but besides being a Xianxia trope, it also still checks out if you look at it as just meaning "not mortal." Even First Realm cultivators aren't bound by mortal needs or fragilities like sustenance, sleep, poison, freak accidents, etc.

Jokes aside, calling a superior and eating manpower for something we could have handled on our own is a bad look for a retainer too.

Assesment of capabilities, both of oneself and others, is a valuable skill for this reason too.

Well, they are vulnerable to poison and freak accidents, just higher tier ones.

"Because you really don't need an encounter with something that will think you are your mother."
