"He brought a warhammer to a knife fight," she replied with a small mirthless laugh.
Might I just note how satisfying this is?
They all were perceiving it as some cloak-and-dagger game at worst, vorpal butterknife duel at best...
And then we come crashing down, destroying all they thought normal.

I'm only saddened that Viserys allowed himself to be convinced by Rhaella's Wisdom save.
Looking at the chapter I can't help but really want Oberyn to be in our delegation to them.
The cucks deserve that much.

I hate the Tyrells as much as...half as much as Crake does. However I think we should wait and see what DP is cooking up. It could be less insane than we had feared.

That's... generous. 🤨

It actually makes me realize how often we forget that people see Viserys as a boogieman who's important as a rhetorical point to convince people to do something for them, but when he actually does something, it's:

I think the problem is that they still think we're human in some capacity.

To them "Dragon" either meant our bloodline or a sentient, but not sapient, flying lizard.

They can't seem to grasp that we're a giant lizard, or that we're a giant magical lizard that has made magical warfare into an industry on par with something you'd find out of a goddamn Metal Gear Solid game and has the knowledge, expertise, and spite to use it to its full capacity when pressed.

They get a first hand account to us tearing a god a new anus and stealing a kidney through it and think "clearly it's just a fluke," instead of "he spent months crafting the perfect weapon just to stab this one enemy in the place it would hurt the most and if I become his enemy one day he might very well do that to me."

But hey, if they want to keep fucking around they can keep finding out.

I mean there is a reason the comparation to the god emperor of mankind keep show it up, from the view of...everyone else, viserys is pretty much that.

At least we have a fall plan for when people start worshiping us :V

What we need is a malcador really.

Also seen all the discussion about the nature of the quest and if DP should quit right now......

I think a part of the thing is that the quest become another thing enterely, it start as merry band of D&D aventures and eventually become the kind of things aventures does at high moments, empire bulding and conquest.

At some level I will said dragon did engage i the same problem George martin did with the books: waaaay to damn big for one man to manage all of it.

I admit I miss the little aventures from time to time: just our guys going into other part, solving problems and taking our sweeeeet loot(let face it, visery should be the good of looting), into pretty much creating the imperium, sometimes I wonder if we can just give a sort of patent to aventures to go around and give us our look or I dunno, let see what other aventures people have, for example I want to see the dead cities of sarnor, or the palace of thousands rooms, because...why no?.

[X] Crake

I am curious as to what the Tyrells intend to do next and exactly what they think they can offer us. If they overstep themselves again we annihilate them with prejudice second only to what we unleash on the Lannisters, if they play their cards right we merely balkanize them.

We don't really know what they are actually planning or what they are hoping to get. I'm gonna wait and see what it is before tossing them into the fire Viserys made.

Why do you think my vote is "yeah sure, come, the more the merrier, no really, please come to my capital where I keep all of my things. Have I mentioned that I own the clay your castle sits upon recently? Also, have I told you about all those landmarks I've relocated? Funny story, it all began when..."

Okay, so that's not literally my vote... but it might as well be in spirit.

I'm baffled by this. Well and truly baffled.

...

I should have gone with that idea and shoved Mace face first into the pile of demon offal to get the idea into his numb skull that surrendering would be healthier for them.

But let's see where they are digging to this time.

...We still can feed them all to Yss if we feel merciful.

If we don't, we can throw them Qyburn's way along with some Fey.
They want to be oh-so-close with Fey after all, we can give them that :V

[] Giant Enemy Portal Crab: Set up a regular watch with Divination to detect when the Illithid use a low number of Abyssal Custodians for a raid, then conduct a Scry & Die attack on their raiding force with the goal of abducting one for them for research purposes.

The prospect is very tempting. I'm pretty much done with cleaning up after the Tyrells thinking they are smart.

Odds are, they will now try to haggle out some deal that is utterly unacceptable to us and the moment we reject it, diplomacy will no longer be on the table, because we are oh so unreasonable. And then everything will be fire and explosions, just because Mace and Olenna could not sit quietly for five damn minutes.

At this point, I doubt even that.

I mean how could they have had a plan to account for this? We just killed a basically-a-god. And her coterie of demigods. We didn't just kill them, we extra-killed-them-dead.

I can think of no immediate recourse they could have on hand if we declined their wheedling out of hand, and with the dawning realization that they have no time left to play games and they've been put on the spot in a case of fait accompli because our invasion is imminent, they pretty much have to accede to our demands.

Which does make me think that what they are trying to do isn't actually as bad as I've been making it out to be for the last few page, on the grounds that it would be dogshit of them to try, and utterly insane.

But these are Tyrells. Perfidy just... has a picture of a golden rose next to it in the Imperium's dictionary.

My problem is that I'm under the very strong impression that they are about to try and sell out their fief and it's population to the Fey on some retarded notion that this will strengthen their bargaining position.

Or they somehow, against all reason and decency, they manage to have the Azure court swear to them. For some asinine reason. They will then proceed to let the Fey run roughshod over the place, because they do not care about anything except the power this deal grants them.

I genuinely have no idea what else they could be cooking up there.

And if it's either of those options, I'll be voting to strangle Mace Tyrell with out bare hands.

Also, before I go to sleep, let me just say that I want our conversation when we take our oaths from Willas (because I am definitely having both lord and heir swear the same oaths rather than allowing any funny business like "I didn't swear them" later on because that's just how little I trust them), I want to tell Willas that our stock in House Tyrell's word is in the net negative.

Not only do we expect our demands to be met, but we expect utter loyalty. I want House Tyrell to be singing our praises at Court and I want House Tyrell to tell their neighbors how great Viserys' policies are. When there's a problem that we'd be very interested in learning about, I expect to learn about it before even Olenna does. And when people grumble, fret and wonder aloud during the first gathering of any plurality of lords if Viserys is doing the right thing, I expect a standing ovation and accompanying support for our wise and benevolent rule.

And I expect it to sound very convincing at the time when they do it.

That's about the minimum expectations I have of them. If they can do that, we can start seeing about taking them out of the shed eventually.

You know, I was really slightly worried that people like Ser Azure here in the last interlude would just coup the Tyrells and we'd have a fortress of Fey-remnants in that traditional seat of power in the Reach. With enough backing from Azure and remains of the other colours that it would be worth negotiating carefully with.

Instead the knight just tries to impress how bad the news are and the Tyrells are being problematic.

I could not have seen that coming, at all.

We don't actually even really know who-all of the Fey survived, or if even all the Knights were present at all times in Highgarden. We definitely knee-capped their ability to win in a conventional, stand-up fight. And while the Greens are sworn to non-hostility, asymmetrical expertise has to be acquired solely by Wildfae, who are no more eager to pick a fight from what we've seen.

It just wasn't highly likely with how badly the Fey rolled against the ritual.

Azure is still something I would not want to fight if left with any choice.
Them having the option of pushing the red button and suddenly we have to deal with every major fiend or aberration they held captive, is making a "victory" look very unappealing.

That's an incredibly unappealing option for them too, hence it being the nuclear one.

It's not as though we couldn't deal with it tbh. We've proven we are very good at dealing with shitty situations.
