I mean, the event doesn't happen--until after the surge occurs. Which is impossible to predict.

What I'm saying is, it should be possible to divine the result... but not until just before it happens. Do you understand? You can prepare all of the people necessary, however large a group, but at best you can only divine that the movements are based around waiting for something to happen, not even what they're waiting for--because they don't know.

Then it happens, and then they act. You can divine it then... but you don't have much time to do so at all. And maybe your scheduled diviner isn't doing the spell at that time. Maybe the next one is three hours from then, same as always?

That's a three hour window where no one sees a small army moving to invade a fortress, just as an example.

What Azel said basically, fogging divination that way goes all the way back to the invasion of Tyrosh

I hate to be the bearer of bad news again today, but I've thought about it and I don't think I can do the next update today. I've been looking over my notes and barely able to read them from how tired I feel. Trying to expand on them in this state of mind would not get any sort of decent writing so I decided better no update than a bad one.

I'll try to me more productive tomorrow.

Rest your brain meat, dude. 😴

This one ended up being much closer than I expected. There is more drama yet to come, I'm sure, but I've put plans to secure a Trump bumper sticker and yard flag on hold for now.

Might not need to avoid a purge, after all.

I couldn't be more disappointed in Ohio and PA.

I didn't expect anything from Florida, so... I guess that's all that needs to be said about Florida. :V

There are a great many things I could say about this post, most of them being sarcastic to a degree that mods might get involved, so I decided to just say:

On a distracting note:

When we personally get involved with the conquest are we going to pull any bit, flashy magic? I ask because I'm curious if you guys think using livestock to fuel a Consumptive Field to buff up first is too cheesy. We don't typically do that, but +9 CL tempts me. For buffed casting that'd bring us to 39 right? We might be able to hit CL 40 if we happen to be casting something we have alchemical power components for. That'd be any Necromancy, Divination, and creation outright, with a few other partials available.

Nothing leaves an impression on magelings like hitting twice the value of what they think the theoretical cap on mortal magic is. :V

edit: dropped part of a sentence.

I think DP doesn't like bigger numbers from things we can trivially do, even if it requires prep and the logistics/wealth to make it easy in the first place, or even just single spells that give a larger buff than any equivalent can. There's no reason for us not to do it for every important fight, and that just causes a greater and greater escalation of force.

He veto'd spells like Bite of the Weretiger in the past because it gave a massive enhancement bonus, even though hitting harder in melee isn't even that efficient for Viserys compared to just nuking something.

Also, Viserys can get a CL boost up to 30 with other spells, which is about half his base CL. Any more than that probably runs into "energy field > head" issues.

That's fair. There go my dreams of setting off a CL 40 SoD inside of highgarden or somewhere similar.
