@HeroCooky two questions regarding how research bonuses work. How much of a bonus do we get Per Faithful placed on a single project in the Learning field? Also how long do artifacts used in a learning project provide their bonuses?
1 Faithful gives a +1 to all projects they are placed on. 4 Faithful would give +4, 5 would give +5, etc.

Artifacts give their numeric bonus for the turn only, but change the outcome of the project depending on what they are. Example: you researched smoke-bombs, added perfume, and got scented smoke-bombs as a result.

I don't think Starlight Crusaders are a good name, cause 1 the Starlight was the faction that we were at war with and using their name after they used an Ancient tech that zombified their Entire population and send them against the Empire is not going to garner any goodwill with the Slatlann people who had to fight the Flood. Also Crusaders are also a previous generation Knight model so it will cause confusion if you put the together. Starlight Crusaders could mean that Starlight managed to get several Crusader model Knights and that alone will cause confusion making it not a good name.

[X] Accept
-[X] Lightbringers

No better idea for the name, but don't really like Unbroken so giving it my best shot

@HeroCooky if you go over 100 on a research do you get 4 success even if only 3 is the normal limit? Also what happens if you roll a nat 1 even if the bonus is 100 or higher? Can we add artifacts per turn to a research that was started earlier?

@Leon12431 maybe ask QM for suggestions? @HeroCooky do you have suggestions that we could choose or at least a naming format as a guideline? Is it like Regiments of Renown in TTWH?

I think Pilgrim's Rangers is good enough.

I'm going to give you 4 successes on Artificial Successes when you have +100 points over the lowest threshold. Example: 50/20/-10% means you need 110 for 3 successes, and 210 for 4. I may have not used that before (it's my first quest, I am bound to make mistakes), but I decided on that recently as a fair way to go about it.

A nat 1 is a -2 successes, with worsening the outcome, as something in your designs/testing went very wrong.

You can! And you can add as many as you want!

You can use the Regiments of Renown as inspiration, or make up your own naming scheme, this is your first proper military unit after all.

I personally favor two/three words for normal units and a sentence for ships in the games I play.

As for names, something to do with their achievments? (Escaped many times, lost only one member, survived an apocalyptic event...)

-The Elusive Band
-The Unbowed
-The Blue Guard
-Su's Siblings

@Profectus can you see about adding more artifacts to the Knight research?

So @HeroCooky just to be sure regarding the Knight research as the lowest degree is 04% then you get 4 successes would require 196?

@HeroCooky does a nat 1 remove past successes? Or does it only affect the turn's result? IE 8/10 get a nat 1 would you go down to 6/10 if you don't get any progress that turn.

I don't think it's worth dumping a ton of artifacts to aim for 196. With my plan there is 57% chance of getting 3 successes... Hmm I may throw another to increase it a little more.

@HeroCooky who was the leader of that band of fighter? I'm thinking something like Raynor's Raiders would be a good format to follow.
Su. Thats why I added the name "Su's Siblings," as she did risk her life several times to bring other Pilgrims to safety, one such scene was featured in an update.

Yes, past successes are removed by a natural 1, as it is a critical failure. Think a gas explosion or finding out that your thesis is flawed from the basic premise.

by my counting its a 30% of getting 3 successes. 20 from the black rectangle and 6 from the Faithful added so 26 in total, making it roughly 30% as the final DC check. Although I might be forgetting something regarding the odds of rolling above a certain threshold or something, but a direct addition of bonus to given percent gives 30%.

I mostly just wanted to make sure that you were going to add one artifact per turn until we get it more than adding more this turn, as I am planning on dumping 72 of my Omake bonus points on the thing and the remainder next turn.

I mainly suggested it as a Jojo reference.:V

If someone comes up with a better name I will change it. Note that the name vote isn't currently part of my plan though.
Also, I don't think we should use every Artefact we have. Once we have the Black Box we will roll the dice for each Artefact, but until then there isn't even a chance of not losing each Artefact we use.

4% base, 12 from scientist, 15 from scientific method, 20 from artifact, 6 from FF

are you including the other bonuses we have for this roll in that bonus or not?

Like the scientist and the method bonus?

If you aren't then I will provide 70, if you are in which case the bonus will be 27+12+15 I will provide 44 points

The scientist and the method bonus are the 27. So are you adding 70 or 44?

then where is the 6 faithful and the artifact that were used in this project? that should be another 26 on top of those two bonuses.

[X][Learning] Catalog Everything - (Advanced Electronics/Hydraulics/Mechanics, Electronics/Hydraulics/Mechanics) Use: Black Rectangle
--[X] 6FF

Black rectangle is +20 and six faithful is +6 so another +26 to that roll.

Scout The Wall - (DC: 20)
Shouldn't this have +3 from the three faithful on it?
