Incidentally... at our wedding, if we seated Bracken and Blackwood together, I wonder if we can throw a fortune in divination at ensuring they get along? A thousand micro-manipulations can go along way to make a perfect evening. @DragonParadox has probably thought of the preparations going on in the background for their own kids' wedding. Ten Imperial Marks that it involves a fist fight.

@DragonParadox I'm surprised that Hoster was willing to send Edmure out practically alone without having any trump cards to bust out--but it's not like he could have made a deal with the Lannisters when it's become apparent that the minute someone isn't useful to them, they get dropped like a hot turd, as per Cersei's displays at court. She's really hurt her optics with that Trant assassination attempt, too, since now it seems like they fuck up at basic political signaling. If she had any other father, she'd be a laughing stock, one bit of scandal in Rhaenyra's time, where the royal house had far more power, absolutely ruined her, and in comparison Viserys I Targaryen was at least a bit more feared than Robert, who even without going to fallow and keeping his warrior reputation isn't regarded very seriously compared to... all of what we are.

So I can only wonder... if Edmure gets kidnapped on the road, as he just pointed out to Hoster, there's not too much stopping us from shaking them down for their lunch money and then some, is there?

I actually half expect Edmure to use a message delivery method Danar and Alyssa left him to ask for their help, since they're practically the only people with agency and know-how he can reasonably rely on in this situation.

Anyone else still interested in having part of the wedding ceremony on the moon? Lya liked the idea of getting married in a moon singer temple, and building one on the moon to get married in is a level of flexing Planetos hasn't seen before.

I think people are leaning toward the new Palace as a venue, since it compounds upon our other political messaging plans.

That also keeps it perfectly secular, too.

Too religious. The Emperor needs not the approval or blessing of any deity to be married, he is the Emperor and his word is LAW.
That is the message we want to send, and the reason most of us want a secular ceremony.

All that is possible but it's worth considering that the Tullys are between a rock and a hard place, support from Lysa has to come from either Lord Tully or his heir and of the two of them Edmure is a lot more likely to be able to get Lysa out or just generally be useful in a direct conflict. Hoster is old and his health is not what it was.

Wouldn't it be just the DAMNDEST thing if there was an isle of sorcerers who just heal random people who walk into one of the half dozen clinics in the province? For free? Any ailment, even the cancer that got you in the end?

Such a shame one of those doesn't exist...

...wait.

Oh right. It does!

Hahahahaha! Serves you right!

Now I just need to bathe in the ashes of Mace and Olenna Tyrell's ambitions and I will be complete as a person.

[X] Crake

Do love that even Hoster and Edmure know something is up they still think that if the Blackwoods say do something the Brackens will oppose it or completely go against them.

Am curious on if they think the lords giving them support if someone went to the Vale would be loyal to the Tully's?

I see that this grudge has lasted throughout the years. I am impressed.

understandable tbh. Even ignoring how they screw over our House canonically, they gave the Court of Stars so much legitimacy and narrative power in the Reach. I have no doubt the Court of Stars could have started their Feywild 2.0 plan without Tyrell support if it had to but the Tyrells went full bootlicker from the very beginning.

Tbh I am quite disappointed they even get to keep Highgarden. I wouldn't have minded giving them the boot... Give the Tyrells just a small keep on an island somewhere.. That we named Dead Raven's Roost.

Yes, I am still that annoyed at them.

Very curious on what Margaery will do once we invade. She's pretty close with the little adventurers of Shield Island. Will she try to convince them to help her Tyrell family?

Margaery is the Tyrell I tolerate the most, she is pretty ballsy too. We should "invite" her as our guest as the invasion starts. I am sure she would actually enjoy Sorcerer's Deep and it would make sure that Olenna doesn't do any of her usual plotting to get back any of the influence they will lose once we divide the reach.

By invite obviously I mean we just go get her. Fuck the Tyrells. Although I don't remember exactly what we promised them other then keep Highgarden, if we said no actions against them for example I guess we can't do shit because our word and such.

Edit: It also solves the problem of Mace just continuing to try and sell her to whatever Lord, King or Fey is in the vogue at the moment, just fuck that dude.

Huh.
We've ran through half of the turn already, at least insofar as actions-as-voted alone are worth.

Admittedly, that's largely due to them all being reports and MAs so far, but I can't help but equally like and be weirded out by this change.

@Goldfish, tell ya what, I think the next vote should be about having Viaerys to start setting up the Snares - but I guess we can just file the details out later if it isn't ready in a hote-format.
Like, sorry for me pushing you on this the last few days.
I did warn I'll get anal about keeping things orderly.
The fact we have a plan for the creature to grant Orphne in return for Viserys' shadow, alone is already big dick move.

Let's just have "the process" started IC, and see the rest of the CoS-related shenanigans on screen for a while, @everyone?

It isn't like those one-off Snares would be of any importance for at least a little while, anyway, and "how many did Viserys succeed in setting up" is something dp can reasonably roll only when we actually reach the 11th of the month IC.
-------------------------------------------------------------------

Imma finagle with RAs tonight and see which we can reasonably push through in the 4th month's time, so we could benefit during the Reconquest.

Omake: The Many Woes of Wilas Tyrell
The Reach, Highgarden.

Willas bursts into his father's solar. "Father, a marauding band of Dothraki has somehow appeared near Highgarden!"

Mace hums thoughfully, "Do you think the Khal would like Margaery as a bride? It would be a fruitful alliance."

"What?" Willas responds dumbfounded.

----------------------------------------------------------------

"Father! The undead have risen again, a whole host of wights is headed towards the reach!"

"Oh! Splendid! I have always thought the Night King would be such a great opportunity to bring into an alliance, do send for the maester, I have to be the first Lord to send a raven, offering my daughter Margaery as his bride!"

"Father.... Have you been drinking?"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Father.... This is not a problem, we don't need to make any alliances, I just wanted to inform you that Jon Arryn has died, it doesn't change anything for us."

Mace face lights up. "Oh how wonderful, Margaery can marry Jon Arryn's son, or widow, whichever gives us the best alliance!"

Willas tiredly nods along as Mace expands on how much he is going to sell his daughter for this time.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Father we have recieved a warning together with all the lords of the realm. Euron Greyjoy is reaping across Westeros and using magic to crush all opposition."

".....Is he married yet?"

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Devils and Fey, the world has gone mad, completely mad Father!"

"Did I tell you I promised to marry Margaery to the king of the Fey? Really good deal, I mean they get everything they want and we get uhhhh...... Margaery married to them... I am great at this!"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Hey Willas, the Fey are being annoying, but I read this lore book they sent me and this Asmodeus chap seems like he knows how to get things done. Do you think he would buy... I mean marry Margaery?"

Willas draws sword and proceeds to murderblender Mace.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Next Day

"You are the lord of the reach now Willas, now that Mace had that accident with a sword that cut him into a thousand pieces on its own. " Olenna tells Willas seriously as they walk together through the gardens.

"I understand my responsibilities don't worry." Willas responds stiffly.

"I think its best, to make sure everyone remembers the Tyrells rule the reach, that you marry Margaery. The Targaryens did it, so can we."

Willas sighs and reaches for his sword again.

"Willas what are you doing?"

"I am going to be the first damn Tyrell TO NOT SELL MY SISTER!"

Edit: From the Tyrell playbook of whatever it is fix it by throwing Margaery at it until it sticks.

  • [X] No, this is perfect. Edmure is someone who you can manipulate with relative ease compared to the Old Trout, place almost any false trail in front of him and he will seek it out. Maybe you should send Danar and Alyssa, old friends, to lead him along that path? Consequentially, if they hope for Edmure to be alive by the end of things, it's better if they keep an eye on him from behind.
