Swapping to this now. I think adding a 6th meridian is unnecessary, but we definitely need a heart meridian apparently.

The tally is a little bananas now because planmakers edited their original posts to include more meridians, so the posts that copied the plans entirely rather than just the names screwed things up a bit, and also we have several plans running around which are functionally identical to one another, but I think this is correct.

btw. one thing that is getting discussed on discord but not mentioned as much here is that we asked if it is possible to have something like a translation effect (for talking to people with other languages) as the 3rd tech for the CCC tech distribution and we got confirmation that we might be able to get something like that. It would likely be obvious that we are using a translation tech, but this would still be a great option in the context of the upcoming diplomacy mission.

Definitely want *some* kind of translation effect even if its pretty baby and obvious. That would help so much.

We don't actually need additional interactivity for comms per Yrs and the radar, while altered, should be fine enough for what we want.

I don't see any benefit worth the AP. Why are we adding the heart?

Some info from Yrsillar on Discord:

On the purpose of the heart meridian -
YrsillarYesterday at 23:37
they can respond, but it's just that, they would talk or whisper and you would hear them

Lena27Yesterday at 23:38
whereas with the heart meridian, our allies would be able to communicate via thoughts @Yrsillar ?

YrsillarYesterday at 23:38
yeah that'd be on the table

The difference between 4 and 5 head meridians -
naths, naysayer-in-chiefToday at 2:47 PM
@Yrsillar do we have a rough idea what the difference between 4 head and 5 head meridians would be? assuming we have 1 heart

YrsillarToday at 2:48 PM
this is still kind of a test run for me too

YrsillarToday at 2:49 PM
but the number of meridians will act as a cap for design points spent in relevant categories on techniques
ErebealToday at 2:52 PM
my impression he was saying we'd have points to put into things like tech range potency etc.

YrsillarToday at 2:52 PM
well and this is tentaitve mind

YrsillarToday at 2:53 PM
it'd be more like if you have 5 head meridians you'd be allowed to put upto 5 points into range for the tech

YrsillarToday at 2:53 PM
which would work out to some certain range category
[2:53 PM]
the total design points a tech has is decided by its potency rank

YrsillarToday at 2:53 PM
so a B rank has more design points than a C rank

For those that haven't voted and want a quick summary of the votes:

[] Plan Purposeful Design (flexible)

20/10/10 = Combat Perception/Social Perception/Pyhsical Avoid spread
Turns a Heart meridian to Head, adds another Head meridian.
3 C rank techs

[] Plan Purposeful Design (streamlined) = [] Purposeful Design with Bling (These two plans are word for word the same)

Only difference to (flexible) is it has 1 B rank and 1 C rank techs instead of 3 C ranks.

[]Plan Perception + Utility

20/20 = Combat Perception/Social Perception spread
Turns a Heart meridian to Head meridian. Doesn't add a new meridian.
3 C rank techs.

[]Plan Heartless

Only difference to Perception + Utility is it turns both Heart Meridians to Head meridians

[] Plan Purposeful Design (compact)

Only difference to Perception + Utiliy is 20/10/10 = Combat Perception/Social Perception/Pyhsical Avoid spread.

[]Plan Perception + Utility With More Techniques

20/20 Combat/Social Perception spread
Turns 2 Heart meridians to Head meridians.
2 C rank and 2 D rank techs

[] Plan Random Doesn't Matter

17/16/7 = Combat Perception/Social Perception/Spiritual Avoid
Turns a Heart Meridian to Head meridian.
3 C rank techs

Hmm, something that hasn't really been discussed is how our passive choices here could influence our tech options.

The c.perception is self explanatory. The p.avoid we've been sticking in is just an application of the increased area awareness present in the arts themes and techs, so that makes sense.

That being said, if we look at the different third tech ideas we've had, then they actually fit with different ideas. Like, if we were wanting that translation tech idea, then arguably we should be running the 20 social perception variant, since that's a high social focus.

Going s.avoid instead of p.avoid could potentially be a better fit for my idea of modifying the screen tech to shield our radar/comms from detection, since that feels like a more spiritually focused thing.

Really, the best argument for "let's go crazy and get 12 E Rank techniques" is that you only need two for Morse code. And one for "I'm using Morse Code" and one for "What the hell do you mean you don't know Morse code!?"
