So long as we're allowed to build a Terminus to all the planets and moons we colonize I don't care about not having Interplanetary Teleport.

That said, do we need to worry about planetary terraforming (mainly the atmosphere since we've got the earth, sea, flora & fauna covered)?

There isnt really any fire water earth or air in space. It seems like the kind of thing that could funk up a plane shift spell to those dimensions.

This isn't trouble. Find a planetoid which is geologically active, and start casting Erupt on a few area where volcanic activity just needs a jump start. Get it going nice and well. Then it will start producing the right conditions for an atmosphere to form.

After you have the start of an atmosphere, proceed from there.

I'm with @egoo on this. Even as a 9th level spell it would be too convenient in my opinion.

Space should be hard and any attempts to make it less hard should require significant up-front investments. And I don't think those will be worth it while we have so much Planetos left to colonise and conquer.

At the least, we should need a stable Moon outpost to even research the necessary magitek for convenient space travel. Which in turn would require research on long-term space habitats. Which would require research into basic space station design and so on and so forth.

When we get a moon base I want a gigantic rail gun or whatever installed there so we can snipe krakens if the need arises.

Hold off on the space travel speculation until we get there guys. I can promise I'm not going to hand-wave the very concept of space travel with all free teleportation, there is just too much interesting narrative to be had there

Anyway vote closed, can't promise when it will be done, I've had four power outages in the past two hours.

  • [X] Handle it themselves
-[X] Assuming he has already cast Arcane Spellsurge, Zherys targets the Necromental Dragon with a Maximized Fiery Disintegrate (DC 29 Fortitude save to avoid 228 damage, 30 damage on a success) as a Standard Action.
-[X] Mereth targets the Necromental with a Full Attack using Rapid Shot and Channel Vigor: Mind (+36/+36/+31/+26 [1d8+2d6+26; 19-20/x2]) and her Wind Tunnel maneuver.
-[X] Malarys will use Chain Dispel to disrupt any attempt the Necromental makes to use Control Weather or Control Winds.
-[X] If the Necromental survives Zherys and Mereth's attack, Rina, Nettles, and Vee will each target it with a Fireball spell.
    [X] Handle it themselves
-[X] Malarys will use the boots of wide earth to convert a 5th level spell slot to teleport, targeting just above the Necromental. Then Malarys will use a Miracle to cast Amber Sarcophagus on the Necromental

It wouldn't handwave it anyway, what it would handwave would be repeatedly needing to travel back and forth, it would basically mean, that we have to reach a planet once, then we can teleport to that planet in the future, instead of having to take a ship every time we want to go there.

Romanian infrastructure:
...Russian too, actually.
Just had my power turn off now, in the middle of the night.
Mere day after the "works" that had power off for a whole 20 hours were done in my block.

My oh my how I loooove outages.

And my phone got mere 15% power left!
I cant properly ready before sleep with so little!
:o

*feels butthurt*

It would make space feel much smaller. I'm not against all teleportation, especially when it involves infrastructure you have to build first, but free teleportation in space would just be too easy.

My electricity is really stable, but I just ordered a hand cranked battery charger for cheap off of Amazon. I'm not close enough to the coast to make hurricanes as much of a concern as they used to be, but the one that just skated past us was enough of a reminder that I wanted to be able to power my phone in an emergency.

One small step for Tree, one giant leap for the Old Gods!

At some point they are going to have to tell us to stop or we are planting a Heart Tree on the Sun.

It would be interesting if there was a distance limit on teleportation and other travel magics, but one which can be extended by signal boosters or beacons.

For example, an Interplanetary Teleport might be able to reach anywhere within 1 AU of the planet you're currently on (or 10, 100, etc). Past that point, you might be able to just roll the dice and hope you land somewhere habitable, or maybe you just hit an impenetrable barrier. If you want to go another AU further, you either need to be able to reach a decently large bit of real estate within that range to make another Teleport from, or have some sort of special high powered interstellar Arcane Mark beacon you can target.

Such beacons might need to be large, delicate, and expensive. The more powerful the beacon, the further away you can be and still reach it.

Placing those would be resource intensive and time consuming. They would also be vulnerable to attacks by other space going magitek civilizations or star monsters, of which there are many.

We only ever use the Weirwood Tree Stride if we need to directly visit Uncle Bloodraven anyway, so I don't have a problem with it not working for planetary travel.

That said, I nonetheless support growing Weirwood Heart Trees everywhere. So many chances for brand new sacrifices. :D

I wonder if the Green Dream transcends distance, or if we planted Heart Trees on other planets far enough from Planetos, could we inadvertently create new mini-Green Dreams that are not connected to the Planetosi one.

I think they'd still be semi-connected.

If they can connect from Prime Material to the Plane of Earth then we should be able to keep them connected across multiple planets.
