I like this idea, but I think that this won't be enough, though.

Better to cultivate him as a contact than risking revealing our identity to him right now. We can always join forces later.

What else do you think we should offer? The only other relevant lore I can think of is the ritual to create Warforged, and we can't share that.

I can add in a good chunk of money as well, if you think that would help.

Maybe bargaining steps?

Knowledge of who has that Axiomite anvil who ended up in the plane of water?

And there is the matter of his familiar to settle upon too.

I don't want to tell him about the anvil. That's ours to acquire when the opportunity presents itself.

He has already told us he will give us the information contained within his familiar, and we made it clear we would return it to him.

Lya has theoretically a lot on soul-lore and creation of Outsiders, similar to his book here, but it's not formalized in a single nice book to barter with.
Still, we can offer her insights to some degree here.

@DragonParadox , so, now that we already have the update, what would have happened had we chosen the other option when talking to the envoy of Asmy?

It would have ticked up his suspicion of you. ever since you set foot in Heaven's Shore I have been keeping track of how in character ou are acting to various people and rolling knowledge for them when you do something that might tip them off. I don't really want to get into more details on what those moments might be since it would give away too much information OOC.

Right. We made the right call then. We sold ourselves as someone capable, but not too capable. The ideal pawn in devil politicking.

@Goldfish, since this is lore and there's nothing stopping Heronious from making copies, can you add an inquiry about getting copies of the already auctioned books?

Is the lore he's offering really that valuable? It's rare to be sure, and would speed up specific parts of our long term goals, but not anything necessary. The outsider creation notes you're offering him alone are already a massive step in that direction, and are a ridiculously rare type of lore and show that we don't really need what he has.

It will save us time, but we still don't have the Imperial god worked out, so we have plenty of time before we can even try to use anything he can give us.

Additionally, we know that Zathir's previous incarnation made Couatls, and that Yss likely can make his own outsiders since he's a full god now.

Why do we need the diaries of some celestials when we can get details from people who've actually done what we're looking into before and will accept good deeds done to our own people and the blood of our enemies as payment?

Good point. I'll remove offering Lya's notes from my plan.

I think that it will help up to shave research time, thus speeding our whole research into the Imperial Afterlife

@Goldfish, some Warforged lore would fit neatly in the theme of the stuff we are sharing.
It isn't among the "near-priceless" stuff we have, it isn't world-shaking on any level, and it is a decent bargaining chip, if we look at his interests so far.

Research time is among our most valuable goods.

Please keep it as a possible last offer if money isn't enough.
Plan updated again.

[X] Take the Infernal Pass (Greater ease in navigating Heaven's Shore; Enduring contact with Iradious; must dedicate a minor action at least every few turns keeping it)

[X] Keep to Hassan
-[X] Lore: Offer to share with Heronious the Flesh to Steel ritual in exchange for a copy of the information contained within the tome that was not auctioned.
-[X] We are willing to negotiate further, if he does not consider this an adequate exchange.
--[X] If necessary, we will provide up to the same amount we were willing to spend to secure the tome during the auction and as an absolute last resort we can make available some of Lya's notes pertaining to the creation of artificial Outsiders, though such an exchange will have to include more from Heronious than the contents of the tome.
-[X] While we are meeting, discuss the possibility of acquiring copies of the other lore sold during the auction, assuming Heronious is willing.

I don't think Anu wants that information shared freely, especially with a Devil. Warforged creation is akin to bringing his children into the world, as far as he is concerned.

The fact that I dont really care aside,

Let's be real:
This lore we are bargaining for is potentially worth Anu wholesale, let alone just his lore.
Imperial Deity is just too much of a priority, apparently lately.

Without the RA to mass-produce Warforged, it is overall pointless for war-based purposes.
And it's a hefty one even for Anu, let alone an outside researcher (45 progress)

It is, however, a fresh take on order-based soul-creation/transfer.
Something very much up the given Devil's tastes from what we've seen.

I'd really rather share this lore and guarantee the availability of the book (and maybe some other materials of his sold at the auction).

Anu can handle some of his personal project being spread around.

Okay, fuck this, I was going to present some alternatives, but the first page is simply inoperable from a phone and bricks mine.
Am now angery.
