We could try something flashy but relatively harmless and lower leveled to avoid catching too much attention. Would a Lunar Veil block the Void!Sun from view for a large enough area to catch attention? We could justify it to the guards by claiming we don't like to wait in the "light" of that star, and are willing to share some shade with them as a favor.

I do not like this whole situation.
Whatever we do, I feel we are about to get some personal attention from figures we really wouldn't want it from.

If the auction-goers are indeed dead, we get to keep the familiar, tho.
Still sweet.
Even if we don't get the shiny tome of lore in the end.

Of course the auction goers are not dead. Otherwise, why would he be negotiating with us? He could simply get the uber guy who defeated the collection of high circle magic users there and beat the crap out of us.

His first mistake was trying to intimidate us. You don't become a Miracle Man Archmage by being afraid to get in a scrap.

[:V] Create a throne of gold and jewels and have a dozen earth elementals carry you into the office while Richard makes his best magically-enhanced performance of "Prince Ali" from Aladdin, eclipsing Will Smith himself.
You know, with Magebred animals and a bit of illusion magic, we probably could recreate that entire scene... maybe save it for our entrance to Qarth.

Pffft. We can do everything real, no need for illusions. We are no cheap illusionist who can't get 400 peackocks artificially bred in their own biological production facility.

Mhm.
So, points of interest until the month's end:

[Viserys]
- Diplomancing that one Archmaester
- Checking in with Ferryman for Water Elemental-forging lore.
- Diplomancing any Reach Lords Rhaella couldn't manage herself. Ugh.
- Another vote for summoning, since we apparently need those. I'll throw a list of things together later today. Ugh.

[Delegated stuff (who does it though? No idea)]
- Talking to Wild Hunt, asking their services against the CoS in any manner they can provide, be it info or action.
-- We have a potential to coexist perfectly well with each-other, and we can offer them more grand enemies to hunt/fight than... anyone, really.

- Grabbing non-court-aligned Fey insofar as we can while around Reach and Westeros.

[Reports]
- Inquisition and The Rogue Faceless - we are still on the semi-active lookout for those that left the Empire's borders.
- Moonsong's first foray into spehhs in a metal bawks.
- that one Moonchaser-class searching for Targ isles?
- Amrelath, Siduri, Yirten and the battle-group of Devils led by our Gelugon, doing... stuff on Plane of Fire.

[RAs]
- Stabilization of Sentient Undead (??/30)
- Dreamscaping (17/20)
- Reforging Anew the Secrets Lost (Seeker cosntructs) (21/25)
- Watchful Eyes, by Aeons Untouched (Watchman creature template) (11/25)
- The Stone of Memories, The Stone of Visions (serpentstone projector tech) (21/45)
- Layering the Defenses (Composite Armor) (??/20)
- Connections Broken, Chains Undone (stopping our Archons from rezzing on Hellven, binding them to PoB) (??/15)
- Secrets by Devils' Blood Wrought (exotic effects of VS) (??/12)
- Waves of the Sea, on Depths and Fire Turned (wards for Efreeti ritual fortress) (??/15)
- Forge of Creation (Warforged mass-production) (25/30)

[Random chance-based (may not happen)]
- Chosen of Stranger making a new dead drop of materials for Chosen of Dmith and us rushing to it.
- Meraxes succeeding on her Imperial Steel RA.

Did I forget anything?
Well, reports on economy, Legions, scholarum, and intrigue aside, I really can't keep up to them too.

This is a bit of a spoiler, but since it's relatively easy to test IC I might as well answer now, the curse does not affect mindless wielders, but its greater powers are also locked away.

Curious if it locks away what they think is their greatest strength even if it's not.

Is this only things applicable to combat?

What if I consider my greatest strength my compassion or good judgement?

Or I believe my stealth capabilities my greatest strength, which might be quite true prior to combat or even during some combat.

  1. Compassion and good judgement are both applicable in and out of combat. Both could be lost
  2. What you lose changes by what would be your greatest strength in a certain encounter
