@Goldfish Also, the Mythic Path Waymar uses should be called Magic Knight. And I think it would be worth considering some abilities for special progress points (3, 6 and 9?) which are custom.

is there anything we are planning to use the Elysian bronze we have for is is it just there without a purpace

With Purity as a Legendary Weapon using that ability, and upgraded by Lya...

Doubling everything, it's 71 average damage against non-Evil Outsiders, plus 108 Impact, 102 Sonic and 102 Electricity damage, for a total of 383 average damage when using this ability combined with a channeled Lightning Lance.

Against Evil Outsiders that becomes 408 average damage.

On a Critical hit that becomes 766 for most anything else, and 816 versus Evil Outsiders.

Ssssooo yeah.

Waymar had a super move already.

So like any battle shounen anime, his super move just got an upgraded version of the original one.
:o I would not want to be the fiend on the receiving end of that. We've got to exploit this in our inevitable next confrontation with Mammon.

So this thing is basically Gambert Rambert's Winterhowl if it's actually made of lightning instead of ice.

Dealing double damage against evil outsider? Yep, accurate. We just gotta fight a Fey King and we're set!

It might still be better for him to use against Others and their minions than Purity, but with the curse still in effect Purity is probably better for most other situations.

If Waymar learns the Energy Conversion Mythic ability, even if affected by the curse he could instead cast Fire or Acid Lances against the Others when using Mournblade.
@Goldfish, for the Energy Conversion Mythic Ability, is it still possible to put the Born of Three Thunders ability into effect if the Lance is converted into Fire or Acid? I'm hoping yes.

I don't think the damage from the Lightning Lance, even if Channeled, would be doubled in that manner. Damage from Arcane Strike and Mage Strike, however, would be. Using a 4th level spell slot, that would be +8d4+8d6 in addition to Channeled spell damage and doubled weapon damage.

Damn, that's a shame.

@DragonParadox, I have some questions on the Others in general if you wouldn't mind clarifying.

So the Others are all gestalt characters apparently. What class levels do they tend to take? What class levels did this one have? Was it Mythic?

And now that Waymar has fought and killed the first Other we've ever seen in person, do we have enough knowledge to guess at their racial abilities?

  1. This one had 16 HD he was some kind of arcane class (probably sorcerer) melded with a pure martial class (not enough observed to be sure). He was not mythic
  2. You know a bit more, they are very high dex with what looks to be a lot of dodge based AC (though whether that was racial Waymar does not know)
Anyway vote closed.

Doesn't their armor and weapon also give a bonus based on the same thing, due to the sword being apparently hard to track because it looks nearly invisible, and the armor also being sort of the same, making the Other appear translucent or actively camoflauged?

Or does it just give the equivalent of a Blur effect?

Waymar had true seeing all the way through the encounter, but yes he would not like to have to fight one with the added impairment of struggling to see where it or its weapon is.

Pretty damn tough for a one-on-one fight. It's his misfortune Waymar answered the challenge.

There's also their ice blades shattering iron and steel, which Blue Ice doesn't do on its own. They've got a lot of great gear I want to loot one day.

I have a feeling that would have 6 Seconds the Tiamat fight

It makes Waymar even more badass in canon, since he fought an extended duel with several Others.

Without the aid of True Seeing.
While the Waymar of canon was certainly brave, that passage isn't him heroically holding them off. It's them toying with their pray like a cat toys with a mouse before the slaughter.

Also, the duel in canon is only with a single Other. The rest of them were just watching the show and laughing as he died.
They emerged silently from the shadows, twins to the first. Three of them . . . four . . . five . . . Ser Waymar may have felt the cold that came with them, but he never saw them, never heard them. Will had to call out. It was his duty. And his death, if he did. He shivered, and hugged the tree, and kept the silence.

The pale sword came shivering through the air.

Ser Waymar met it with steel. When the blades met, there was no ring of metal on metal; only a high, thin sound at the edge of hearing, like an animal screaming in pain. Royce checked a second blow, and a third, then fell back a step. Another flurry of blows, and he fell back again.

Behind him, to right, to left, all around him, the watchers stood patient, faceless, silent, the shifting patterns of their delicate armor making them all but invisible in the wood. Yet they made no move to interfere. Again and again the swords met, until Will wanted to cover his ears against the strange anguished keening of their clash. Ser Waymar was panting from the effort now, his breath steaming in the moonlight. His blade was white with frost; the Other's danced with pale blue light.

Then Royce's parry came a beat too late. The pale sword bit through the ringmail beneath his arm. The young lord cried out in pain. Blood welled between the rings. It steamed in the cold, and the droplets seemed red as fire where they touched the snow. Ser Waymar's fingers brushed his side. His moleskin glove came away soaked with red.

The Other said something in a language that Will did not know; his voice was like the cracking of ice on a winter lake, and the words were mocking.

Ser Waymar Royce found his fury. "For Robert!" he shouted, and he came up snarling, lifting the frost-covered longsword with both hands and swinging it around in a flat sidearm slash with all his weight behind it. The Other's parry was almost lazy.

When the blades touched, the steel shattered.

A scream echoed through the forest night, and the longsword shivered into a hundred brittle pieces, the shards scattering like a rain of needles. Royce went to his knees, shrieking, and covered his eyes. Blood welled between his fingers.

The watchers moved forward together, as if some signal had been given. Swords rose and fell, all in a deathly silence. It was cold butchery. The pale blades sliced through ringmail as if it were silk. Will closed his eyes. Far beneath him, he heard their voices and laughter sharp as icicles.
Still, he did his ancestors proud by not running from his death.

Well, looking at this fight, the spells I planned on permananecing onto our melees stop seeming "too much".
Wow.

I would've preferred to have Waymar be more of a knight in his "mage-knight" Mythic Path, but I dont really have the time to go through the system to try and slap something together.

The Mage Strike arcana ability is intended for Pathfinder Maguses, which syncs up really well with Waymar's gishiness, and Legendary Weapon works well with it, too. It's very much a Mage Knight kind of setup.

And there are other abilities further down the line he can select that will further build on that.

@DragonParadox, if the blade locks away what the wearer believes to be their greatest strength, will a good enough roll of Autohypnosis allow one to have it lock away some other aspect of their being than the one it'll usually go for?

The weapon is cool but I would be more than willing to weaken it just to make sure Waymar doesn't lose his kickass lightning powers everytime he picks up the blade.

I cant get this image out of my head now :V

*Waymar squares off against a group of Others*

*Proceeds to fuck them up with his Lightning powers with Mournblade in his hands*

Others: "Buh- mah curse-!"

Waymar, having used a Gith-crafted Autohypnosis booster a moment ago: "My greatest power are my dashing looks and charming personality".

Others: "FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUU"
