-[X] Also offer them that we are interested in their alternative feeding methods and would offer to sell them the relevant items at cost if they share how they are produced. I think they might really enjoy that bit of knowledge and I for one will not weep if they start working harder against the Court of Stars.

You're not giving them flesh samples in exchange for Ceremorphosis information?

If the Court and the Abberation Rebels go to war we win. This is something I can swallow. One day we can maybe get fleshcrafter knowledge from their brains...someday.

We're eventually going to get a few proper Deep Ones Flesh Smiths. They can be given the Yss treatment and/or turned into books. That's almost as good as getting a Rebel Deep Ones flesh smith, if only because the Rebels have apparently branched off into heretical experiments to be free of their Great Deceiver.

Let's see if this group will remain "sensible" for long after the Elder Brain is dealt with.

Feeding a few Deep Ones Fleshsmiths and making a new Fleshsmith works just as well and gets us the best of both worlds.

I think by the end of it they will have seen enough of our firepower to know not to piss us off. Right now we're proposing to be allies of convenience. After this presuming we win the war we'd be something like awkward trade partners with a non-aggression pact.

Yss has always been quite handy in that regard. He shits miracles.
 
@DragonParadox The fact that it isn't unusual for people to have trade deals/mercenary partnerships with Illithids operating in Elysium means that Viserys being open to working with this group not without credibility, I guess?

More that I mean, if devils are willing to work with the Loyalist faction off-plane, we'd definitely be willing to work with the group trying to kick them out. Viserys has only made it absolutely clear he will suffer no rivals to surface-level hegemony (and we at present lack the capability to assert firm control beneath the sea though that could change in mere generations as the Triton population explodes).

I think it's just a case of them hating each other. Similarly we'd have been nervous if we heard about the Golden Company getting several Ancient chromatics. You generally don't want your enemies to do well, and you'd sabotage them if you had the chance.
 
Okay, so this is old xenophobia...

We can probably deal with that. I'm thinking about what to do by the time the Court of Stars gets defeated. we definitely don't want a war in Westeros between both of these groups.

Yes, although those deals, like every deal Hell makes is predicated on pure mutual interest, the moment that goes away so does the cooperation. No one actually trusts the Deep Ones as far as Viserys knows.

If things go according to plan for us, the Court of Stars will be forced into vassalization. After that, attacking them will be attacking us, and I get the feeling the Deep Ones rebels won't be in a hurry to go to war with us. They'd likely break off hostility with the Fey and go somewhere else to stay low.
