[X] Plan Holy Smoke
-[X] Give the Efreeti to Melisandre to sacrifice after interrogating them.
-[X] Try to recruit the Gelughon from the Larder. If that doesn't work out, sacrifice him alongside the Efreeti.
-[X] Also sacrifice the 3x Ala Talismans and 1x Arson Ice-Axe

Cleaning out a few items while we are at it. That stuff has been in the larder for years.

Eh, sure.
We have more than enough stuff to raise more trees for Inquisition this month, too.
Thanks to GC.

Didn't we always offer the choice between recruitment and banishment/non-permanently damaging death?
No reason to change that now.
I'm pretty sure we sacrificed and cut apart people after refusing offers in the past. We most certainly permanently killed a lot of humans for having the temerity of opposing us, or merely being vaguely in the way. I see no reason why Fiends should suddenly get better treatment then Essosi Magisters.

Not fiends in general, just those that we try to recruit.
You know, to avoid the "serve me or die" issue, that breeds resentment.

Edit: Specifically for dangerous people of course. I don't care if we do that with Magister #762, but for a Gelugon it matters.

Fair enough.

Then that raises the question if we care enough about the Gelugon to recruit it. Personally, I would rather have had a Falxugon to see about wringing some use out of more wily fiends first, but he was deemed useless, so I'm inclined to just drop the recruiting and go straight for the pyre.

I always boil the situation down to three questions.

Is it useful now? Is it useful later? If it's not then how much effort do I need to expend to make it so?

What can this thing offer us that's worth the effort of recruitment? How much time and effort will it take to ensure its loyalty? Is it more useful to us as kindling than as subject?

Some may call it the dreadful algebra, but to me that's just tallying the numbers.

I'm not a nice man.

Which is my problem right now. A Gelugon would definitely be a nice Pokemon to have, what with their whole cold logic thing. He and Qyburn could become bestest of buddies.

On the other hand... what for? Unless the guy has some extravagant skill-set, we can literally make beatsticks of his quality, and using him in his usual role as planner, organizer and commander is out of the question until it has proven it's loyalty.

@DragonParadox, is there anything fancy about that Gelugon in our larder?

Imagine it being Mithril-clad.
i thought it was not going to be a lighthouse becouse it would make connotation, at least i kinda remember that happening
The lighthouse, when finally built, is going to be a propaganda symbol for the Imperium.

The R'hllor temple is separate.

What I just noticed is that the Gelugon is immune to Fire, despite being Ice themed. This actually makes him rather neat for operating in the PoF.

How about we toss him some undead minions and let him work as their commander, supporting other PoF operations? That would minimize the potential betrayal problems and Undead are disposable chess pieces for him to use as he pleases, so no risk there either.

What Ala Talismans are you talking about, @Azel? I assume that Ice Axe is the one we have in the Armory, Rising Sun?

I'd think the PoF is tenuous/difficult enough we don't wanna risk having people we've
"Serve me or Die!" - Ed into service. I'd assume if he really wanted to the Gelugon could find a way to use the strike force given to him to advance hell's standing with The Brass Throne and fuck us over. Typing it out I'm think I've convinced myself to just mulch him. He seems to be both powerful and canny enough to fuck things up if he wanted and conversely not quite so powerful/special enough to make it worth it--especially given what we can grow now.

[X] Just Smoke it
-[X] Give the Efreeti to Melisandre to sacrifice after interrogating them.
-[X] Also sacrifice Gelughon, 3x Ala Talismans and 1x Arson Ice- Axe

Some stuff found in the North ages ago. Something something talismans from some thing. See the Larder tab in the sheets, I'm just reading from there.

Also, since there seems to be no great interest in the Gelugon, it's straight to the pyre.

Wait, @Azel, the three Ala talismans are being used by the Djinn to research how to put the Mettle feat on an item (if worn by a scion of Winter they grant Mettle & Evasion). Are they done yet? Did DP confirm?

i mean i'd like the ice devil don't get me wrong but i don't feel very invested in it, if it wants to work for us fine if not to burny it does
