Anyone has an idea for a speech to hit him with?
No?
Eh.
Magic, divine or not, only aids you by the measure of your own skill and power.

A good priest can grow back to his full strenght mere weeks after being abandoned by his god. And a weak one can be beaten by any other mage, even with the full support of his immensly powerful deity behind him, because he just can't channel that much power, or use it well.

To see the truth look at this field of ashes. A goddess mightier than you can imagine protected these men and she was truly invested in winning here, but there is a limit what gods can achieve on this world without mortal hands to do the work for them.

[X] Accept his service, but point out that he need not foreswear the service of the kami. Just because they could not aid him against Tiamat when his life had been forcefully consigned to her horde does not mean that they had forsaken him.
-[X] We will be conducting a thorough examination of the Shugenja's mind, body, and soul to make certain he was not damaged or altered by Tiamat with his consent or against his will.

...I'm getting some Lorgar-vibe here...

He won't start some Imperial Cult with us as Chief Deity would he? That would be inconvenient.

If this is referring to the whole "accidentally become a god" thing, that's not happening. Becoming a god is a conscious choice, and mere worship is incapable of forcing it.

No, no. It's not the whole 'accidentally become a god'.

What I mean is that, well, look at him.

He's broken, he's hurt, he's tired, and worst of all? He's abandoned by those whom he thought he could trust with his soul.

What happens when your biggest foundation in your life, the adamantine pillar of trust and faith... suddenly did NOT seem as sturdy as you think?

This is a prime mindset for brainwashing. He sees us as a being so grand, so powerful beyond his reckoning that upon losing hos previous Idols... he would start to lean on us.

He won't see us as a man, nor a King, nor a Dragon.

He would see us as a being closest to Divinity. And I'm already ticked enough by the proclamations that we are Azor Ahai Come Again!

Adding this level of thought-process into the Imperial (our) culture is going to be an annoyance to deal with.

And what would happen if we were to lose that trust? Simple, he would consort with powers that spoke with honeyed tones and glittering eyes. Like, say... the Nine Hells.

I don't want another Lorgar, man.

I actually disagree there. It is so incredibly convenient that the majority of R'hllorists see us as Azor Ahai. That's a main reason they've been model citizens. Contrast that with the Faith of the Seven which has a less than stellar view of us.

Hero worship on this guy's part or any other citizen's part really works to our advantage. If we're unlucky enough to lose that trust by dint of circumstance? Well, it happens, that's just the way the dice rolls. But for the most part we don't send citizens on missions where we don't think they'll survive, so he should be fine.

Well, also, our health insurance is really good if you're employed as a specialist agent of the Crown. That helps a lot too.

The health, vision, and dental plan gets their attention, but it's our blatant disregard for the sanctity of death that keeps them coming back.

Literally.

"If you do not want to be resurrected when dying in imperial service, fill out form ResDen and apply through the usual channels. You can rescind that any time as long as you are in imperial service."

If you haven't filled out the form, and divinations reveal you had decided to stay dead before dying, the cost of the failed resurrection, will be deducted from what you leave to your heirs.

I still say that we should conserve the bodies of Imperial Guard Legion heroes and build a huge masoleum enchanted with Gentle Repose. So that we can call them back to action in the future if we need to.
