So, these guys are getting in a lot of one liners, can we shoot back with something already? Preferably something about Blackfires, but at this point I would take shouting "Rhaegar was a fucking lunatic!" just to get a verbal hit in.
talking during combat is for idiots just beat them and then we can grandstand all we want

I wonder if Richard and Sandor could lose. IMO it genuinely could happen, if she's had the time to stack enough buffs.
Although the fact that she is still in a weak human shape suggests that this is not the case :'(

I know this in my head, but my heart wants to shout something at this lot. It'd be less pressing if they weren't so delusional about the crap they say.

Would be nice to lay in a Jojo-style beatdown.

Why are you sad? If she turns into a dragon, I am sure we can turn into a bigger one and sit on the enemy.

It is only then that you see the shard of dragonglass floating in Old Griff's hand beautiful and deadly, magic without spellcraft, only will and skill built layer upon careful layer.

Weaboo fightan magic manages to bend spacetime, steal spells in obsidian shards materialized out of thin air, and more!

What was that thing that could negate the Sun or something like that?

While his words may be feverish barely coherent there is nothing wrong with the man's swordsmanship. Your cloak flares around you seeking to grip the sword from his grip with each blow but he holds it fast, the steel drawing hot blood across the side of your head. So it would bleed into your eyes, some small analytical part of you notes.

So, here we have a good equipped fighter fighting a sorcerer. Do you know how to turn the tables?

By having a fighter with no magic equipment fighting a full red dragon under and antimagic field.

Challenge - 20 (Thousand) Good Men
So, by training eight hours a day, I can level to 20 at 1 level per four months? I assume achieving things helps with that rate?

And, I need training materials or instructors. Hm.

What gear do my followers come with?

As is, one's greatest superpower looks like the enormous army of highly fit fanatics.
How is Ashara, a cleric of the sixth circle, standing up to Ser Richard?
Do we know for sure she has only 6th level spells?

But even then, you answered it yourself: she is a cleric. Buffs ahoy.
How they countering basically everything we are pulling off? First Viserys, Lya, Teana, Richard and Viserys again? Actually curious how they are doing it. I get they are buffed but so are we.
The same way we do: gear.

That ring was one of the first things we crafted for a good reason. It's amazing.
Also, how did Connington even stand a chance of beating Viserys' absurd CL values + Wisdom Modifier?
Pumping a crafting check sky-high is entirely trivial for someone with even middling resources, especially when you have a cleric with a deity (which can thus grant Guidance of the Avatar).

A simple +20 to a skill is 20k GP to craft. Max ranks + decent stat and there you go.

By and large, using a skill check in place of something else is a very, very good deal.

I remember talking about Mother of Learning in this thread in the past, so for all the MoL readers here - it finally concluded!

She should be turning into a Hydra or something. Or one of the many cheesier forms in the monster manual. Dragons are pretty bad forms for a Clericzilla.

We sort of need our magic to handle our actual main enemies though.

I had honestly entirely forgotten that the Seeker was with us, so seeing him turn up in this update and slaughter our main melee for was a surprise.

EDIT: @TotallyNotEvil, that "level by training 8 hours a day" is why Factotum is clearly the best choice. Doing literally anything challenging counts as training for them, considering the fluff guidelines of the original challenge. Just try to do your job, and it'll count as training most of the time!

She's actually a 7th Circle Cleric, which makes a bit of a difference, especially if she's running spells like Divine Power, Surge of Fortune, etc.

Oh, the epilogue has been posted. Nice!

That's the time loop with the psychic spiders?

Ah, that good ol' french cheese.

I was thinking Warlock wouldn't be bad. Versatile, lots of stamina and, most importantly long-term, can craft anything.

This is making me remember how I wanted a Green Mana Form of the Hydra spell in Magic the Gathering, to go along with Red Mana's Form of the Dragon.

Were form of the dragon turns you into a flyer that hits anything you want for 5 each turn, I think from of the hydra would allow dividing up 7 damage how you choose.

Yes. Final epilogue came out. Sadly it wasn't a "ten years later" epilogue like I was hoping (it's more of a "two months later", so no knowing if Zorian becomes immortal through Construct-Simulacra-soulsharing, what he actually does with his life after the time loop, what happens to his sister in the long term, etc). But we do see the wrap-up after the fight, the results of his attempts at staying incognito, etc.
Ah, that good ol' french cheese.
Don't lie to me: do you train 8 hours per day? While there were times in my life in which I easily achieved "spend 12 hours per day learning and practicing" (I did prépa and didn't kill myself) that's entirely incompatible with any other activities + is only sustainable because said training is also in and of itself progress towards your goals (exams). There's no way I'll have the time for that if I'm also expected to be a ruler in a warzone.

Better to take the class that trains by reading and learning and by actually going out and getting shit done!

EDIT: Wait, you're in engineering school, aren't you? That probably counts as training 8 hours a day. But could you do that and hold a job all at once?

It's time to finish these three. Between Dany, Lya, and Teana, their spellcasting should be locked down, Richard and Sandor have Ashara covered, the Seeker and the Mind Dragon can finish Connington, and Aegon is about to fall victim to a Save and Suck spell.

The real fight is yet to come as far as I'm concerned. These three are dangerous without a doubt, but this isn't going to be a wimpy Avatar of Tiamat.

Thoughts and suggestions?

[X] Plan "She comes...so let's get ready to roll out the welcome mat!"
-[X] In the temple:
--[X] Viserys targets Aegon with a Quickened Stun Ray using Wild Arcana. Depending on how successful his spell is, and how Aegon responds, Viserys will decide how to proceed, either blocking a returned spell using Wings of Cover, targeting Aegon with a Stilled Avasculate spell, or attacking the Clerics performing the Command Dragons ritual with Shadow of the Doom if his help isn't needed elsewhere.
--[X] Dany targets Aegon with a Dimensional Anchor spell after Lya targets him with Chain Dispel. She uses Divine Defiance to Counterspell the next spell used by our enemies as an Immediate Action. She uses her Battlemagic Perception buff to Counterspell the next enemy spell as a Free Action.
--[X] Lya uses Wild Arcana to cast a Chain Dispel spell at 23rd caster level, targeting Aegon and anything nearby with an obvious magical aura, as well as Connington and Ashara if they are within range. She uses her Ring of Spell-Battle to Counterspell any enemy spells which slip past Dany.
--[X] Teana targets Ashara with a Solid Shadows modified Baleful Shadow Transformation (DC 32 Fortitude save). The spell will be effectively rendered completely real (60% base realism + 20% via Solid Shadows + 20% via 3 charges from her Ring of Mystic Shadows) even against effects such as True Seeing, removing the ability to disbelieve via a successful Will saving throw. She uses her Ring of Spell-Battle to Counterspell any enemy spells which slip past Lya. Her Shadow-Trace duplicate launches a Fungal Stun Vial at the Clerics maintaining the ritual controlling our Fiery Dragonbeasts.
--[X] The Mind Dragon moves to engage Connington in melee combat and the Seeker continues to attack him.
--[X] Richard and Sandor continue to attack Ashara. Richard should have activated his armor's Holy Aura power prior to entering the temple.
-[X] Outside the temple:
--[X] Our forces continue as previously directed, but Team Yss takes the field to help bring things under control and to delay the Avatar of Tiamat if necessary.

That's very likely going to bounce back in our face.

How likely is a high level cleric to have FoM up?
