I remember that being something we explicitly planned for. Was it missed? :/

I'll need to do some thread hunting, that was meant to be a steady source of powerful venom. Tyene at least would have loved it.
We've been selling non-sentient warbeasts to the Githzerai, Shaitan, and Vialesk, and we've promised to sell them to the two aquatic merc companies as well, IIRC. Giving Althazi five of them is barely a drop in the bucket and it seems like something he would appreciate.
I'm just nervous about working with this dragon. One on one we could take him, but we simply don't have all that great of an aquatic force to counter all his Sea Trolls if needed.

But at the same time we can't afford not to take that gamble thanks to the Deep Ones.

@Duesal we still have one left. We would just need to vote on it.
Oh, good. I remember campaigning to save it for this, I guess it was just forgotten about for a while. @Goldfish, we should arrange it as in our next Flesh Forge order. We'll have a great and constant supply of venom.

Also, edits made to the vote:

It's pretty obvious that this guy isn't looking for spending cash. Hiring the trolls is worth 300,000 IM but I don't think he actually wants a pile of coins. We should consider putting together 300,000 IM worth of goods, services, and lore and offering that in exchange. Or at least letting him know what kinds of resources we have access to and letting him pick.

We don't have the aquatic forces to counter him...Yet.

Our personal forces are smaller, but they are growing and are made up of very effective combatants.
Special Forces Servitors:
Aquatic Forces:
Hell, two dozen of the special servitors we grew last month are individually a serious threat to Althazi on their own. He has quantity, but we have quality. Quantity is coming, too.

Over 1,000 of the creature we grew last month are Plant-Imbued, which among many other great effects (SLAs, Damage Reduction, Spell Resistance, Plant Immunities, etc), gives them Fast Healing. That's not quite as good as a Troll's Regeneration, but it's close and it's not suppressed by Fire or Acid.

What exactly is the plan for these guys again?
There are multiple Deep One fortresses. The more of those we can assault simultaneously, the less likely they will be able to concentrate their forces to defend them.

Between Althazi's forces, our other aquatic mercenaries (hopefully we can hire even more than we already have), Tritons, and our own forces, we should be able to launch a pretty significant offensive.

Paying him in tech is still far from optimal and while his force makes a good damage sponge, they need dome serious support to be a thread to a full Illithid fortress.

I wouldn't send Althazi and his Trolls alone against a fortress. We need to balance of forces, with a mix of units to better deal with all threats.

I'm not sure what that optimal balance will be, but each attacking force should be some combination of Undead, Constructs, Trolls, Tritons, Forge-grown servitors, heavy hitters, etc.

We also have some Gith to support our various attacks.

Edit: And statistically at least four of them are guaranteed to be Companion tier.

Oops, yeah, meant to include them in my list, too.

We'll be paying for the service of every available Githzerai monastery willing to help.

Don't forget to vote, ya'll.

[X]How much you need to assualt a elder brain

Regarding the comments about him not being after cash, that's kind of what the Flesh Forged warbeasts take care of. He might be able to do some bio-alterations but that doesn't measure up to a Forge.

If we wants more after this, we can just sell him grafts.

Reagents are also a valuable negotiation tool here. Any sort of non aquatic plant product, and a lot of the more esoteric reagents we produce for our own use in the forge could be vary interesting to him. He might buy a keg or two of concentrated evil just for novelty's sake, and liquid law might actually be useful to him depending on his crafting set up.

Maybe we could swap some of the creatures for a mix of exotic consumables.

@Duesal, @Goldfish, I'm pretty sure we even voted to cut out the poison-making glands out of spiders and slap them onto the fungal pods to produce this 2d6 Strength-venom at out discretion.

We should be getting that venom at 1/5th the usual price, and on-demand, imo - since we can get the Hydra Bloodpoison for mere 10th of the price, iirc.

...We just choose not to.
Because reasons.

I forgot?

To be fair, we don't have much reason to use poison ourselves. I wouldn't mind producing massive quantities of the stuff, though, to equip our forces.

That's something we need to start keeping track of. That poison is a very good resource for us.
