This vote has been a hard decision for me to decide on personally as well, but ultimately in this case I would prefer for Ling Qi to learn to work around Zhengui more.

Others have brought up the possibility of learning to do so without making a binding promise, however, in my opinion that's simply trying to have your cake and eat it too. The promise is what makes the decision a meaningful commitment, especially since it clearly says it will affect Zhengui's development.

It might become a weakness/challenge to overcome yes, but that's what I'd like to read. Some have argued that the promise contradicts LQ's insights and there has been multiple interpretations on that, however, I would say that isn't the point of being Green to have multiple perspectives before your Domain/Way is fully set? The update points out an issue that LQ herself notes has been in her thoughts, albeit shoved to the back of her mind.

Thus, the vote to decline the promise is simply putting it off till later or burdening Zhengui with the onus to change himself to keep up with LQ, which I'm not comfortable with, keeping in mind that it's comparatively easier for LQ to change herself as a human than Zhengui as a Spirit beast.

Finally, I'm simply not convinced when the underlying basis of "Not Promising" is essentially simply trying to maintain the status quo in LQ's powerset & projected growth at the cost of our Family and friends emotional well-being, despite the implications or the consequences that might arise.

Apologies if my words sounds heated, like I said I have struggled with this decision and would like to put out my thoughts so if it seems that way, it's unintentional.

tally to promise or not to promise, coordination or self-sacrifice

This promise does not have to effect us too much, we have options to keep Zhengui with us and use our speed. But we really be more of a team player.

I. We can train Zhengui's speed. His speed is incredibly terrible. F is peak mortal skill, he is literally one full rank higher than a peak mortal. He needs some training. He will probably never reach our speeds but every rank help.

II. We can find an art that lets us summon him quicker from our dantian like someone suggested.

III. We can find an art that allows us to give him speed: either by using an art that lets us move him, some type of wind art that let's us use the wind to move him. A modded, upgraded Fleeting Zephyr. Or we could find an art that lets us share our speed and other speed buffs, like our intangibility buff, with him or provides an insight that lets us boost his speed. We already have a domain effect that lets us boost our friends stats, but we would need a new insight to allow us to passively boost Zhengui's speed.

IV. On the discord, there has been talk, after this update, of some how allowing us to carry allies, friends, etc with more esoteric abilities. Like somehow creating or finding an an art to allows for temporary storage of things in our shadow.

V. There are probably many other possibilities that aren't listed here.

Shit, I just decided to read about Ashen Shadow. It's Yin Fire/Wind, why in the world did we not pick it up?

Because it was a AOE DOT art and the time, we needed burst damage.

As to why we never picked it up later--we picked up other, higher level arts that did AOE DOT better. As time went on, it became too low-level for us to spend time on.

[X] She could not make that promise, not knowing what the future could hold. (Ling Qi remains open to all tactics. Affects Zhengui's development.)

We wanted it a lot, but we needed Archery more at the time of the vote. Afterwards we still wanted it, but Yrsillar kept throwing other arts and events at us that sucked all our actions until it was too far behind us in level to be relevant.

The takeaway is that the true build in our hearts will never really die. Archery and Ash will rise again!

Well, it makes sense that a giant turtle is slow on the ground, but he's descended from cloud tribe spirits, so maybe one day he'll learn to fly? :V

Gong Huo grimaced, scratching his cheek sheepishly at the reminder that he had only been so welcomed due to the… incident with Lord Chu, the barbarian, and the goat. He was glad to be rid of the debt, if he was honest. Holding the debt of a higher noble could be dangerous, especially if one was not careful in asking repayment.
It's interesting that the debt to a higher noble can be dangerous both ways. On one hand, the higher noble has to do something for someone below him on the social scale, but on the other hand, if the lesser noble holds on to the debt for too long then the higher noble might look for ways to get rid of him.

Although I do wonder what actually happened in regards to Lord Chu, the barbarian, and the goat and how all three are related. I'm sure it is something suitably embarrassing for Lord Chu though!

In the end, Ling Qi is a buffer, so going out of her way to solo stuff is a trap choice.

I dont think its that really. After all, said person did do you a favor, and a higher noble wont much care to take away the just repayment for deeds done unless said favor gets called at incovenient time/moments. At least thats what I assume.

I think what the dude was refering to regarding the dangers, is in other people seeking to use you or manipulate you towards their end. Maybe even friends and relatives getting blinded by what the favor could bring them.

Its like the dangers of leaving a pile of gold under your bed attracting thieves of all kinds compared to if you use said gold to buy a shop or something.

Well, it's looking like we're going to make the promise. It'll be interesting to see how this affects Zhengui's development as well as what changes we'll be making to our combat paradigm to keep the promise.

Either way, Meizhen is coming soon and she can be hugged by our domain as well! Although I don't think she'll express the experience of our domain in quite the same way that Zhengui does.

Well, if Ling Qi and Meizhen stick together, the next person to approach them will be hit by a combination of both their domain.

So someone will be experiencing a terrifying hug or terror inducing hug. Possibly Renxiang if she does decide to join.
