Okay. Now, my main point: a case for Esmeralda cleric teaching the We.
1. Halflings are in much the same position the spiders are, and can relate. They rely on dwarves or the Empire for protection, and provide valuable service for the Karak in return.
2. Halflings got a lot of horror stories about what happens if you don't have enough allies.
3. They can teach the We how to avoid cultural clash: halflings got no private property concepts and have to work around that to cooperate with dwarves.
4. Halfling society is not a hive mind, but they are more communal than most and closer to the We mindset.
5. Halfling spider cavalry.
6. Esmeralda worship is focused around food, the concept that spiders actually understand already.

tldr halfling and spiders have more in common than other options, and we can get spider cavalry out of it.

Von Carsteins: Generalist Lords. Not really bent towards a particular form of combat or magic, they are more focused than the other bloodlines on ruling other Vampires (and humans). Still not to be underestimated; it's not for nothing that the most notable Vampires are all Von Carsteins. Definitely the ones most likely to cause trouble, as they want to rule and don't tend to care about being subtle. None currently known to be in Sylvania. If Mannfred, Konrad, or Vlad return, light the signal fires and call for aid, because Stirland is fucked.
You know, in hindsight it occurs to me that if anything was going to get a major Von Carstein to come out of the woodwork, it would be other vamipires carrying news how one of their get fucked up so badly, they got the family home torn down, down the every last brick.

This is just asking for it for one of them to come in and go:"What!? I'll rebuild it twice as tall, and thrice as thick! After killing that annoying Elector Countess and the uppity witch who dared order my home destroyed!"

This is how the real mosters come out to play. You break their ancestral homes and all their vassals get uppity. This inevitably pisses the ancient monster off something fierce.

How's that for a plot-hook? Ancient vampire come back to rebuild the estate. And deal with some...pests.

But man, used to be people criticised Roswita for letting the EIC get strong so she can purge Sylvania, now we found out just how bad it is over there. It speaks well of her abilities that she's kept the lid on the problems so well we didn't even know about what was going on.

Alright, so let's talk about Rifles.

A Rifle is a longarm based firearm which means that you generally hold it with two hands and brace it to fire, as opposed to handguns, aka pistols, which can be accurately fired using one hand (though you generally want to use two hands anyway).
Just to note, that while I'm not sure if BoneyM is making this distinction, Warhammer counts handguns and pistols as different things. A pistol is exactly what you say it is, while a handgun is a longarm, that is to say, it appears to be some form of rifle.

A rifle isn't just a two handed gun.
It's specifically a twohanded gun with rifling in the barrel.
Also handgun meant something different during this time period on earth too.

We would need to ask Boney about encumberance limit too. With rifles being heavy and shit. Personally, i am not really feeling the rifle.

Ya'll dissapoint me.

[X] Crime is inevitable, so it may as well be Spiders. Send word to Heideck and make sure that when an underworld emerges, it will be a Ranaldian one. This can absolutely be tracked back to you.

Dwarves in general don't appreciate metaphor
Except for Mining metaphors.
If we sic the halfing priests on the spiders are they going to get a lesson in wholesome family values?
The halfing ran out screaming and quit after the Spiders started baking Skaven pies.

I'm trying my own hand at the Vampiric Lore

Von Carstein: Founded by Vashanesh of Nehekhara, husband of Neferata once upon a time, it first rose to prominence in 1797 IC, when the above-mentioned Vashanesh, under the name of Vlad von Carstein, married Isabella von Drak, heiress to the Mad Count Otto von Drak and became Count of Sylvania. Over the years, nobles were turned to Vampirism and they formed the Midnight Aristocracy of Sylvania. The Von Carsteins are the bloodline most focused of leadership, both of humans and vampires, but they should not be discounted in combat or magic either.

Blood Dragons: Founded by Abhorash, once Captain of the Guard in Lahmia, only one of the Progenitors to not want to become a Vampire and the one vampire to defeat the Red Thirst via drinking dragon blood, they are made up of superlative warriors, their main tenet being that they will not feed on the weak. They are extremely focused on Martial supremacy, though they are not necessarily bad mages.

Lahmians: Founded by Neferata, the third most Grudged person in the Dammaz Kron, they are focused on Intrigue and controlling nations through soft power.

Necrarch: Founded by W'soran, apprentice of Nagash, they are completely focused on magical research, to the point where they mostly ignore the Red Thirst and thus become ugly abominations. They are amongst the best Necromancers in the Old World, only surpassed by named characters such as Kemmler, Vanhel and Mannfred von Carstein.

Strigoi: Bestial Vampires, barely a step above Vargheists, they were founded by Ushoran, once King of Mourkain, and after that kingdom fell to the machinations of Neferata, they regressed into nigh-mindless ferocious beasts, using Ghouls and Crypt Horrors as their courts.

We might also want to look at the We education vote from a 'Which tradegood will they develop a taste for?" perspective.
Esmeralda is perfect in that regard since the K8P shouldnt have trouble getting access to spices. Alcohol, furniture and stuff like music also seem pretty Esmeraldan and should be easy to source in a dwarfhold.

We have two hands, a two handed sword and the option to learn silent, armor piercing magic missiles. Buying another gun, or even two is just impractical. How are we even going to carry ammunition for all of them?

The earlier we do this the more free actions we will have for papers.

Serenity is what we planned, and it'll be amazing to start churning out our backlog. Investigating the Vitae in detail is going to be a long project, so we should start with the other major papers, like the MAP. It's already been noted how valuable a dynamic 3D battle map would be to a commander, we should get this out there. As an additional note, I do kinda want the MAP and Aethyric Vitae papers to be pure Mathilde without collaboration, especially the latter. This is a bombshell and Mathilde's work.

No desire to buy anything here. I want to save favors for our Towers unless we get a windfall of them in Karagril, our Library is fine as is, and the marksdwarf pistol is enough for precision purposes for now.

Still thinking on the turn vote. Either take one or two Sylvania actions now, because we're going to be a lot busier here during Karagril. Helping with Roswita's main problem is way more fucking important than training a few Greatswords, which I am not voting for under any circumstances. We want Advanced Greatswording before we can chill on that skill for quite a while. Not clear on the exact dynamics of "hurting them now will make them more alert for the incoming assault", but I'd love to get some sabotage in if it won't hurt us overall.
