I've been looking through Pathfinder's alchemical stuff and I found one that might be of use for Legions.
Why?

Because I resised that apparently we don't even have anything resembling gasmasks for Legions.

Fighting Daemons? Instant fail with them breathing all sorts of nasty shite on em.
Same for many nature-related things with spores, Illithids with nasty stuff...

And even plain smoke of a burning land/city.

@DragonParadox, does our engeneering understanding as a state yet achieve heights needed to make something like these en-mass?
Source.
More to the point, @Goldfish, would we be able to set up production of at least "1 per Legioner", economically?
Maybe adding the filtres as a basis to all helmets?

Honestly, all the gear is about 1-2 CR all by itself, and 2 MRs translate to 1 CR iirc.
I'd say Viserys is clean CR20 even before his "Dragonness" is taken into account.

We are actually producing Auran Masks each month. We can't make them in huge quantities without dedicating an Industrial Alchemy facility to it, though.
Auran Mask: (C. Mage 134) This mask fits over the character's nose and mouth. The bulk of the item is a cloth packet holding a porous spongelike substance. It requires a move action to put on or remove, and once a single breath is taken through the mask its benefits last for only 1 hour (or less if taken underwater). A creature wearing an auran mask receives a +5 circumstance bonus on Fort saves against inhaled toxins. In addition, the wearer can breather underwater is if under the effect of a water breathing spell, though immersing the auran mask in water reduces its remaining duration to 10 minutes (or les, if less than 10 minutes remain).
We have 467 of them unassigned right now and another 264 scheduled to be produced.

Not as a purely mechanical device, you would have to use alchemy or enchantment to fill in the gaps.
Well then.
:/
@Goldfish, while I think strategically Liquid Ice is more of a priority due to Efreeti war, the next Alchemical Facility definitely needs to be dedicated to alchemical gasmask-analogs.

It'd be plain stupid to send off people fighting magic-capable threats without this sort of protection.
While we ourselves know of dangers smoke/gases presents to common military men.

EDIT: Goldfish'd.
Well, those will do I suppose.

Still, we need moar of them for sure.
The duration is not great either, as far as price/usefullness concerned.

@DragonParadox, can we make something more akin to Gasmask described above for less components (with no research spent beforehand) by combining our lore on subjects of Alchemy and Engeneering?
Ideally, of course, is the longer filter-duration, if they are to be army-wide equipment.

  • [X] Split up
-[X] Viserys will Bloodwish a Telepathic Bond with everyone. Then, Viserys will cast Find the Path and/or Discern Location spells to the remains of N'Gath and will restore his Charisma damage with Orb of Mental Renewal.
--[X] First order of priority is the Herald's body, everything else done based off how likely is it to be endangered by current situation.
--[X] After finding the N'Gath's remains, Viserys and Zherys will start casting Spontaneous Search for more quick and efficient search through the mansion, as well as Searching Shadows for Viserys.
-[X] Rina and Teana question the Wraith, prioritising learning where exactly are the valuables (i.e lore, artifacts, or plain money) inside the mansion, the exact locations of traps and ways to disarm them.
--[X] Teana will also send off three of her Shadow copies into the mansion for searching.

Anyone have any objections to this for Teana's level up?

Trading away those shadow spells would sacrifice a lot of the character's flavor. It might be worth scaling back some.

She's not really losing them, though. This level of Shadowcraft Mage gives her the ability to use Silent Image + Heighten Spell to accomplish the same results.

Shadow Illusion (Su): Beginning at 3rd level, a shadowcraft mage is able to infuse some of her figments (see the list below) with material from the Plane of Shadow, making them partially real. The subschool of these spells changes from figment to shadow. A shadowcraft mage can use the altered spell to mimic any sorcerer or wizard conjuration (summoning), conjuration (creation), or evocation spell at least one level lower than the illusion spell. The altered spell functions identically to the shadow conjuration or shadow evocation spell, except that the spell's strength equals 10% per level of the figment spell used. For example, a shadowcraft mage who uses silent image to create an acid splash would deal 10% of the normal damage to a creature that succeeds on its Will save to disbelieve the shadow. If she used programmed image to mimic summon monster V, the creature would have 60% of the hit points of a normal creature of its kind, and its damage would be 60% normal against a creature that succeeds on its Will save to disbelieve. A shadowcraft mage can apply shadow illusion to any of the following figment spells: silent image, minor image, major image, persistent image, and programmed image.

EDIT: So if she used Silent Image and Heightened it to 6th level, she could duplicate any Conjuration (Summoning/Creation) or Evocation spell of 5th level or less with 60% realism if disbelieved.

Right, I forgot to check the new class features, sorry.

Technically that only works if you have Telepathy permanently, not as a spell.

How about this: Shadow Weave Magic – Feat – D&D Tools

It's not that great, but the follow-ups of Tenacious and Insidious magic really make it worth it.
I don't really want to bring the Shadow Weave lore or fluff into play in this quest unless DP would allow us to use the feats without that aspect?

@DragonParadox, can Teana benefit from the Mindsight feat if she only has Telepathy from a spell? Also, can she learn Shadow Weave feats without needing to introduce that aspect of magic to the quest?

  1. Mindight only works with natural telepathy, there simply is not enough time to fine-tune one's sense of other minds in the brief windows of telepathy a spell allows
  2. Shadow Weave spells use a shallower aspect of magic, like the ones wielded by the Shadowbinders of Asshai during the nadir of magic, but there is no seprate 'weave' for it there is no weave at all (that's Faerun metaphysics)

So what about Baleful Shadow Transformation for Teana's new 6th level spell? It's effectively an Illusion-based Baleful Polymorph that takes advantage of her much higher Shadow Illusion spell DC compared to her regular Transmutation spell DCs. It won't work on everything, but a big advantage of it is that the target isn't actually Polymorphed, meaning that Beads of Newt Prevention and their equivalents don't prevent it from functioning.

EDIT: And then we could retrain her Baleful Polymorph spell to a new 5th level spell.

Ahah, alright, this is pure gold.
Had we only had a way of doing that ourselves... Or making our enemies believe we can overcome even such defenses as Spell Immunity just to fuck with them... :V

She mostly overcame her fear of fighting, too, iirc.
This might just be quite useful.

We can, in fact, do that ourselves. Though she would be better at it.

Updated Teana's level up plan again.

Picking up Shadow Weave Magic on @Artemis1992's suggestion since DP confirmed the Faerun metaphysics won't be involved. That does require Teana to retrain her Light cantrip to something else, though, since she will no longer be able to cast any Light-based spells.

Added Baleful Shadow Transformation as her new 6th level spell and retrained Baleful Polymorph to Geniekind. It's a really versatile self-buff, especially since DP buffed it to have a minute/level duration rather than the normal round/level. Teana has had a lot of exposure to various Genies, too, so it's even nicely thematic that she could change one shapechanging spell into another as her magic grows.

@egoo, I think we're good for you to add it to your plan now, unless anyone has any issues with it.

That's really weird by the way.
She can easily make illusions of light, which do the same thing, just not spells with the Light descriptor.
