Speaking of that:Shall we add more?

I can't quite remember how many we already raised there, but those people will need every edge they can get, I recon.
We have the sacrifices aplenty too.

We probably should supply the people there with more resources as well...
@Goldfish, can we yet churn out PFEs massively enough to help Rodric's administration hold up for a few more months at least?

Also, have we informed him of the body-jacking the Illithids have been doing since we uncovered the scheme?
Not really. We can produce them in decent quantities, but not in massive numbers. We've been pretty generous distributing them to allies, but we have a lot of people who need them, too.

If there is I haven't heard about it, but you could certainly be right.

By the way, @DragonParadox, as part of our magical fortifications/wards research, has Zherys happened to have researched the Black Walls? I was hoping to incorporate any lore there in our own future works. If he hasn't, are there any enchantments at all to be studied or no?
So I just looked for the reference, I meant Nagga's hill , the Ironborn say it's the remains on a giant sea dragon, but a popular theory is that it's actually the remains of a Weirwood Grove, in the original Asoiaf I would go with the trees, but here it could go either way.

I was wondering about that. I got very confused when I did a bit of searching and found a line that said weirwoods never took to Iron Islands soil (though that can be easily overcome through sacrifice).

It certainly could be petrified weirwoods, though we'd have to check. Probably through Legend Lore.

Awww man! I just remembered in forgot to ask for the Build more Figurines Minor Action! I wanted every kid in the Imperium to have their own set. Plus the new ones! A Wyvedn and Moonchaser model and ones for the new member races and the new PCs. There isnt even a Zomok out yet. And the Crown! We keep forgetting the Crown.

And the golden* edition for the tournament champions!
*Not actual gold, we don't want people stealing from kids.

I'll be adding checking the place out to 12th month's MAs, and raising as many trees as Rodric deems neccessary to better his chances at holding out before we launch our offensive against the Squids.

...Unless there is a need to raise the trees there as soon as possible..?

Because we can totally do that, we but need to vote on it instead of waiting for DP to bring up like the rest of the list.

Will add too, don't worry.
By 12th month well have more epic figurine ideas anyway.

I'm actually a bit paranoid about those body-jackers of Illithids.
Rodric likely knows nothing about those, or he would have called...

We probably should leave more guard with him.
The Erynie kind.

It's not an immediate concern, the clerics of the Merling King should be plenty for the moment.

also the Black Walls are 60 meters tall.

When I asked @DragonParadox what reason it would possibly be necessary to build 200 foot walls around a fort, he told me it "wasn't designed to protect against armies".

I mean less ominous these days since we know he meant Outsiders and Aberrations and junk, but the way he phrased it gave the impression he was talking about fucking kaiju or some shit!

We also know that there's a slumbering Firewyrm underneath Volantis.

It was revealed thousands of pages ago, and I have searched multiple times but never could find it again.

Thank thing was probably Volantis' trump card against giant monsters.

I think it was Ymeri related actually, the crazy uncle wanted to wake him up to destroy the city.

So wait it's less that her Herald lacks all originality, and more that we just kind of procrastinated that old plothook and Ymeri never stopped trying to get her hands on that thing to gobble up them souls?

What a loonie!

It's probably gone a bit crazy by now, like that reaper in whiteharbor.
Stupid gods summon their servants directly into a locked box and then forget about them for months and years.

"Enemies in the sanctum? THANK THE ETERNAL FIRE, my last set of cards wore up months ago, let's fight, but surely you would not mind some tea before? Don't mind Mr Schunookums, he is a bit grumpy these days, Lady Stickland please entertain our guests while I get the fine cups"

An old basin with a hat and a bunch of sticks in the rough shape of a doll stare silently from a broken and dusty table.

Many lords see in this as naught but another attempt to marry off some of his too-numerous brood as high as they can claw up, but the smallfolk are just glad for coppers spared. There's even been talk of 'Good Lord Frey' for the first time in Gods knows how many years.

Old Walder is a genius, a few months of lost revenue for the necessary goodwill to pivot to the side of the righteous come Conquerin' Time.

Part MMMCIV: Veiled Powers, Hidden Purpose
Veiled Powers, Hidden Purpose

Second Day of the Eleventh Month 293 AC

Rather than step upon the path you spin a dream-forged visage in the shape of an Angel forth, more than a figment but far less than the truth of such a being. In seven beats of feathered wings it reaches the walls of the manse. As it descends there is a shimmer in the air like the haze of heat above a forge and the false angel is simply gone as though it had never been, not burned or slain in any manner you can recognize.

The smell of burning flesh grows thicker in the air, you can hear something hiss at the very edge of your senses like fat sizzling in a pan. From the way Ser Richard's stance shifts ever so slightly on the balls of his feet and Rina's fingers reach for her talisman it is clear they hear it too. It's not a sound...

Before the thought can do more than touch the edges of your mind something digs its way out of the ash-shrouded soil. First the dome, then the hollow eyes, and finally the jaw loose and unhinged. The skull drips with oils you would rather not guess at, fire kindling upon it as soon as it begins to float in the air, like the wick to some macabre candle.

"So you come at last, Fool," the thing nods towards Benerro. "The Yoked Fire," here it clearly means you. "And the thieves..." The last part of the word hisses like a death rattle as the thing beholds Zherys and Teana. "Do you think you can hide stolen fire behind..."

You never will find out what the skull had meant to say to Teana, for the High Speaker takes the moment to cast a spear of dark lighting through its eye socket, turning the bone to dust.

"Strange how the use of the word 'fool' uttered in battle so often precedes defeat," the Archon of Volantis proclaims in dust dry tones.

As the six of you walk down the path as the ground around it begins to churn as though a thousand other dead things were trying to gnaw their way to the surface, but nothing emerges. You are tempted to tear out the earth with a spell but stay your hand when Rina calls: "It's not real, only a figment!"

A figment hiding what? you wonder as Benerro calls to his god to dim the light of false flame that all might see through it. What had before been a field of featureless grey is revealed to be covered in flowing Fey script writ in bone-white ash upon dark stone polished to a shine, and circles of binding, dozens, scores of them interlocking and flowing into one another. What was the servant of Ymeri trying to summon forth here?

Carefully you step forward and upon the edge of one circle you read not the name of some Fiend or Spirit of Fire, but Laenor Serenmir, a mortal name... the name of one Awoken you realize a moment before you hear Teana gasp. "Something's pulling at me..." Hands tear at the air... no, at her shadow.

A false image all but flies off the path to stand in one of the circles, only to fade like smoke before a gale wind. Teana flinches in pain at the shadow's demise, but looks on with grim determination. "That thing's inside the house. We have to kill it."

"I would advise that we deal with at least some of the circles first, lest we be caught between the Herald N'gath and enthralled mages," Zherys interjects.

What do you do?

[] Try to wipe out as many of the ritual circles as you can

[] Rush into the manse

[] Write in

OOC: Again, the votes are there to give structure, but a write-in is perfectly fine.

Also damn, I want all the fey lore. I hope we'll eventually be able to rip it out of Ymeri herself.

Here's an edited version of the chapter, @DragonParadox.

Shadow of the Doom? If you dont have time to destroy the summoning circles just destroy the floor afterall.

Or you know trigger then yourself and the petrify them all for later curing or disposal. Either way Shadow of the Doom.
