I'd vote to diplomance. Not because I think she's a good guy, or cause I want to "save everyone" like some kind of superhero. But because I think it's more interesting.

We know we can crush them. But the uncertain things, I want to see what happens. I want to see the whole rug pulled out from under Tywin. That is interesting.
I must agree with this. I also kind of like her, even if I think she's pretty spineless. It could really be much worse on that regard too.
I am of the opposite opinion. We recruit so many people that I am somewhat tired fo it and just want once to not try. In all frankness I would be okay with just fighting her and figuring out recruiting from beyond the grave. I will not abandon an advantage just to try recruitment. Fuck that. If it comes to it she can either be recruited after or she can stay dead.
I get what you mean but lets face it, this fight probably won't be fun. We'll drop in with everybody, and I fully expect her to surrender if she thinks it's at all viable because she'll know from the start she can't win the fight.

That is a fine outcome for me. If she simply surrenders then perfect. I don't really give a fuck about her. Mind you I will lose my respect for her if she does. As for fun...I would find it quite enjoyable to utterly destroy her. I don't really like her character at all. Also kind of sick of the thread's general "Let's try to recruit her". Even though she is an enemy. It's just gotten irritating to me tbh.

Edit: As long as we don't try to bend over backwards to recruit her I won't care.

Well, let's agree to disagree, then?

Basically, I'm just unwilling to risk it.
If she doesn't immediately surrender/flee/die, then she has a chance to fuck over a lot of our lower-levelled people.
Those very people we are painstalkingly trying to not throw away the lives of during said Reconquest.

Her level and class aren't a joke, she may not be a challenge to our murder-team, but she is more than capable of leading diversionary task-forces and groups of elite mercanaries to take out our people during reconquest.

A single clear decalration "either you surrender/flee, or you die" is all I'm willing to give, really.

...And ideally, I'd like some divinatory focus on her to break through Mindblank if she doesn't surrender.
@Crake, can that be arranged for?

Well if we end up fighting i can agree with this. I'd like to see a chat with enemies more often. I was kinda disappointed there was no discussion with Varys. I understand the reasons for the mind probe.

But goddamn if I don't enjoy the dialog that DP and the players come up with.

I am inclined to give all our enemies and those who stand against us a "Surrender or Die" statement. That is the most I am willing to give to our foes. I am not having a philosophical debate with someone I would love dead.

Varys aligned himself against us since day one, and the moment the Golden Company started following Tiamat was the moment his death warrant was assigned. Even had we talked to him there is no way in hell he would have been recruited.

This is true, in theory she could do this. But she has children and a castle and people who are her responsibility, so she won't.

There's also the fact that talk would have been pretty disappointing, since he was completely insane.

I'm now wondering if it is possible to capture Ymeri. If we can do that then we can feed her to Yss, not have to double tap her, and split her court by using her power to make multiple fey queens for the various courts we could make.

If we can get close enough to kill her we can maybe capture her. Of course, that depends on what measures she may have taken against our remarkable tendency towards capturing people.

If I was her I'd just hide deep in the Feywyld and handily avoid the entire problem.

It'll be possible if we're way, way stronger than we currently are.

Level 20 for every Companion, at least halfway progression in Mythic Ranks for every Companion, etc.

We haven't even faced a CR 23 monster much less CR 28.
He was a madman.

When a character says they're the rightful ruler of something:

Yeah, Varys was batshit insane.

Looks like we need to figure out the Mythic Rank transfer ritual and find some "volunteers" to help us.

I think recruiting hostile minibosses is an honorable thread-tradition, one that was always entertaining and has gotten us a host of great characters:
Azema, Taena, Rina, Wyla, Relath, Amrelath, the list goes on and on.

Even Garin would have been a hostile miniboss if we hadn't gotten him early enough.

If a strategy is proven to be both entertaining and effective, why change it?

I don't recall the recruiting of Azema but I recall that we beat the shit out of Relath before recruiting him. Amy we made a deal with to let him out for his service. Rina we literally robbed from the Others through Old gods, and Teana was in a shitty relationship and wanted to leave.

All I'm saying is that I am sick of this trend and frankly don't want to talk to her till after she has surrendered. Or after we have killed her. Either or. I am not abandoning maximizing battle effectiveness for another dance at diplomacy. You want her? Fine do it after she comes to us or after we kill her. Fuck going to her.

Yep, she gets one chance. We issue a surrender or die statement. If she doesn't heed it and turn on Tywin immediately, she dies.

We beat her, needed her help against her mother, let her go for no particular reason, met her a year or so later again in Mantarys and convinced her to work for us.

but I recall that we beat the shit out of Relath before recruiting him.
When we first met him it was a bit difficult to get along, the formal beating and recruiting happened later.

Originally he was supposed to be Damphair's sidekick/mount, but he beat the Deep One mindcontrol and agreed to help us for vengance and a load of money.

Amy we made a deal with to let him out for his service.
True, but it was partially because of luck. He might have been released earlier on a few occasions and then likely would have been our enemy.

Rina we literally robbed from the Others through Old gods
We had to capture her alive to do so, which is hard for undead.

and Teana was in a shitty relationship and wanted to leave.
Yes, but she was still designed as a miniboss should we have clashed with Zherys on our first Volantis visit.
We just managed to diplomance her away.

You all shit-talk Varys, but his plan was fairly solid. It was very daring of course (it had to be, considering his position) but the Fourten managed even crazier shit with even worse allies and against an even stronger opposition, using similar methods.
Sure, his plan relies rather heavily on a few battles going his way, but so do ours after all...

Basically, while I wouldn't have wanted to ally with Varys, it was mostly due to differing priorities and conflicting goals.
Killing him was fun, too.
