  • [X] No.
-[X] It is not yet time for a meeting between us and the Azure Emperor. Our emissaries have worked to obtain this audience and it would be improper to invite ourselves to it unannounced. Once diplomatic relations have been formally established, then we can arrange a face to face introduction.
-[X] Provide Tyene with ten Valyrian Steel weapons of various types, all in common Yi-Ti styles, along with a body length standing mirror framed using Valyrian Steel in a Dragon motif and highly polished Mithral as its surface. Depending on the situation, she will give one or more of the weapons, and/or the mirror as gifts, using her best judgement to determine what is appropriate.
-[X] Previously voted on course of action for the audience.
--[X] Ask Tyene and the others to explain their mission, that they were sent not only to attempt to begin working on establishing normal diplomatic relations with Yi-Ti, but also to ferret out the agents and machinations of a group of our enemies who had fled from Western Essos and who we discovered were attempting to establish themselves as a power in Yi-Ti.
---[X] Have them give a brief explanation of the Golden Company, the GC's current alliance with the Bitch Queen, and what they have learned of the GC's operations here.
----[X] Ask that the Emperor allow our agents to continue their work infiltrating the conspiracy we have discovered, at least for a short while longer.
-----[X] Offer up the skulls of the Devils we accidentally Summoned from Yi-Ti who were infiltrating the Emperor's court, and ask to allow them to take part in the interrogation of the traitor's skull. If possible, try to learn any True Names he may have known.
------[X] Only if Tyene deems it appropriate, and her contacts don't indicate otherwise, she will also broach the subject of a lore exchange between the Empire and our Imperium.

I said classy porn, not The Dornish wife, the soup opera.

"But surprise, for I am not Amyra, but her twin brother!"
*Dun dun dun*
"I am not angry that you sought to deceive me, but that you never noticed my love for you!"
*Amyra watches them from behind a pillar as a 2 hours sex scene ensues*

It was nominated to several awards in Dorne and banned in most of the civilized world.

But jokes aside, I was thinking of publicity for our brothels, though I agree that Azema would love the chance to organize it.
Oh GAWD, Oberyn would make his porn plots exactly like a dramatic soap opera.

Oberyn's Otherwordly Orgasms, detailing the journey of one man to sample the act with anything halfway humanoid and consenting. Part MMMXLII: Upon a Closer Path
Upon a Closer Path

Twenty-Fourth Day of the Tenth Month 293 AC

After giving the matter due consideration, you decide against traveling to Yin again. It is too early for Viserys Targaryen to appear before the emperor of Yi Ti, and a game of masks before the court of the Golden Empire would ill serve you. Any mage skilled enough to cast spells of the Sixth Circle might know you and in revealing you deal a painful blow to your prestige.

"Just make it clear we make good friends and the Golden Company would be very very poor ones," you speak into the Whispering Brazier. "Take some Valyrian Steel weapons to offer as gifts to the emperor's court as seems appropriate and a mirror of Mithril edged in Dragonsteel. The blades might stir some interest in buying more when the fleet arrives next month..."

"How very mercantile of you, Your Grace," Tyene's teasing is clear through the hiss of the enchanted sand.

"You only now realized that? After I sent you to, among other things, establish better trade with Yi Ti?" you laugh. In a more serious tone you add: "Good luck, Tyene. Try to find out more of the empire's current state, but keep a light touch."

For once the reports of development in the newly acquired provinces are mostly settled, the number of colonists still small and still gathered in the initial settlements so it is not hard to tie them together. True, Lady Silore has not quite rooted out all the banditry in the area, from Dothraki 'khalasars' that count a few dozen riders to pirates who did not have the sense to switch out their sails and become traders or river guides, but matters seem well in hand. To hide from the Legion would be difficult, worse still if they should call upon the diviners of the House of Mirrors, but to hide from the Fey whom Lady Silore summoned for the task is nigh impossible.

Other reports make a less pleasant reading, from hints that someone or something in Lys might be trying to use your agents as catspaws to act against the Fey power behind the Goblin Market to Tyrosh where more and more evidence that some aspects of the Cult of Zagreus are involved in far darker doings than hedonism and intoxication. Truth be told you are almost tempted to step in personally to see the investigation to a swifter end, but no sooner had the thought occurred to you that a far more urgent call upon your time materializes in the most literal sense of the word.

A pillar of heatless flame manifests in the center of your study from which Siduri steps forth with a sly smile and a larcenous gleam in her eye. "I know where the Grand Vizier's expedition is heading. It seems I and countless others have been looking in the wrong place for weeks... or better to say the wrong world."

"Are they headed for the Realms of Earth or Sky?" you prompt. Surely the Endless Ocean would be too inimical to the Efreeti.

"Neither, Your Grace. They head towards the land of my kin of old, and yours. They are heading to Valyria the Fallen," the fiend-blood mage offers, her smile growing all the brighter. "The reason there was such confusion is that some parts of the broken land are hard to distinguish from the milder parts of the Eternal Furnace, but they were careless enough to banish a Judgement Devil bound to at the mouth of one of the great mines since before the Doom. The Fiend told tales in Dis, and from there they reached my ear."

"The mines?" you muse, a faint surge of irrational anger passes over you. You certainly cannot make a claim to own a blasted wasteland, not that it matters in the end. Stopping the Efreeti is a worthy deed on its own, and looting them is ever lucrative. "They seek their reagents within the Fourteen Fires? Bold of them..."

"It is a gamble, certainly, but the Grand Vizier is not risking his own skin," Siduri shrugs. "Still, I suspect losing the expedition to raiders would sting more than seeing it destroyed by the perils of the journey."

What do you do?

OOC: This feel somewhat scattered, but taking out the Rhoyne part would have made it very short.

While other stuff important it is also important to note that we haven't warded our keep against translocation apparently.

We need to fix that and make it so only certain people have permission or if we can't do that make it so they translocate at a select location in Deep that is legal.

"Good Brother... why is there a naked tiefling on my desk?"

Oberyn leans into the room, eyes wide and wearing a hurt expression: "You don't like her?"

"WHY IS SHE NAKED, ON MY DESK?"

Oberyn: "The real question is, why isn't... anyone naked and on your desk?"

Lya, disrobing: "I concur!"

It's really not hard. Just make a Forbiddance.

This is good. It would be a great test for moon chaser. Also we can deploy a lot more stuff on prime material. And YSS could help if we are on the same plane right. Some super long ranged smites would be pretty usefull.

I'm inclined to let them get so far as the Fires before we step in, if only so that by their actions we know what's worth getting out of there.

Okay, so according to the update right now we have Viserys, Ser Richard, and Rina immediately free.

Vee has finished her study action so she's also free to be called for battle.

Of the other Companions I'm not sure... @DragonParadox, is Dany free?
Merlin king then. It should be possible. I don't see why they would need people on the ground to do smiting if they are on the same planes. Can the old gods do that.
Old Gods have their hands tied. They're a lot more powerful now that we've been feeding them a lot, but for every major move they make, the Others get to make one as well. If the Old Gods pull out the big guns and smite someone, the Others get to do whatever their equivalent is. I guess this would be Hammer of the Waters vs Mythic Fimbulwinter or something.

Merling King is iffy, because of the two clerics we've got, one is Amrelath's companion and level 5, and the other is a triton and old so I'm not sure how good he'll be in combat. Definitely worth looking at, though. IIRC he was level 10.

@Goldfish @Duesal We have Dany, Vee, Siduri and Yrten at the moment. We could pull our Valyrian Dragonlord friend and Teana for an attack, as well as, lemme see... Balerion and her/their? dragons. @DragonParadox, Teana's progress with Grey Ghost?

Riz'neth could be pulled. Melisandre isn't doing anything at the moment. Zherys could probably take the time out of his schedule. In fact he would love to do so in this situation.

If we wanted we can also get Yrael, Relath, and Amrelath. That's a lot of versatility added to our arsenal.

Thumbs up for getting Teana, maybe she'll level.

EDIT: Also Velen, never underestimate the Phoenix Bard. :p

EDIT 2: And Bloom the Brijidine.

We cannot make a claim yet, but deep in your heart that is our blasted wasteland and you know it.
And soon they will know it too.

Ohhhhh, fuck.

@Crake, I know what "rare reagents" the Efreeti are after that can only be found deep within the Fourteen Fires.
Aebys' tales speak of great spikes of dragon-steel driven into the stone beneath Valyria, piercing veils of molten stone to channel the power of the earth's fiery blood to the dragonlords' will.

If anything remains of these great works, you know that even splinters will be precious beyond measure, and perhaps in the finding of them one might unearth clues to the last of Valyria's mysteries: the Doom.
Under no circumstances can they be allowed to touch these.

Made some edits to the chapter, @DragonParadox.

@Goldfish @Duesal Needs more oomph... unfortunately, Rina, Richard and Malarys aren't free or that would probably be enough for this. If we headed to Lys to help them speed through the rest of their investigation we might be able to pull them in while giving time for the rest to gather and prepare.

That makes for a team of Viserys, Dany, Vee, Siduri, Yrten, Teana, Saenena, Riz'neth, Melisandre, Zherys, Rina, Richard and Malarys. Or thirteen PCs that I can think of who we could pull, if we finish up in Lys.

Then we have our Wyvern flight, plus the Moonchaser, three dragons if we pull in Nettles for fourteen PCs (she'll need buffs out the wazoo though), and the Erinyes.

Edit: Right, there's Bloom also.

This is a challenge. If these fucks think they can loot everything then we are going to loot everything first.
How the hell did they even know about the colossal spikes of Dragonsteel?
