If anything, with him having invited us (by all accounts without malice) wouldn't that mean he's not going to let them dumpster us or anything like that? He's not going to go out of his way to protect us, but the offer to join looks to have been made in good faith, so even with our comparatively anemic social suite we probably gain more from going now than if we wait another month until we have that new art.

Sure. Maybe there will a super convenient excuse like that they don't go hunting that often and so nothing's going on this month (seems unlikely). Or maybe Luo broke his leg and this month's party is cancelled.
I kinda doubt that however. Ultimately there is still a logic to these things, and events that have already been set in story must logically be handled differently from those that aren't. Hoping that will be ignored for our convenience seems kinda dangerous. Especially when the most obvious explanations play so well into what has already been highlighted as our current social problems.

Aside from the other reasons to do this now, it means that Ling Qi can stare at Shen Hu or Xuan Shi's abs later to reinvigorate herself after dealing with the prelims for the Upper-Class Twit of the Year competition rather than going into the enjoyable fun option knowing she still has to do the ennervating business option afterwards.
